the .net 3.5 files are on your ISO/DVD. To install .net 3.5 run this: dism.exe /online /enable-feature /featurename:NetFX3 /Source:d:\sources\sxs /LimitAccess (replace D with your mounted ISO/DVD drive)
Starting with XP Windows only loads some hive and not the whole registry. So only in Win9x it had a perf impact. Users often do things which make no sense.
can you make some pictures or videos? I have no idea what you mean. Btw, the Windg issue is still there. strange that it worked with the other dump I opened 2 hours ago
Yes, I activated the shaderOptimization. Look at the title of the TortoiseGit Window when updating (pull) or getting the changelog. Here I see flickering in the old version. Can I get the symcache file to trace the cpu usage with xperf?
thanks for the new version The glitches with TGit are gone for 99%. I only see a small glitch after opening it. The scroll issue with WinDbg is also gone But I have a new glitch with XML Explorer: http://xmlexplorer.codeplex.com/ When I open a XML I see nothing. I have to minimize and restore the XML explorer. And I think the new version casues a bit more CPU usage compared to the older version.
reading the hibernation file is the cause of the slowdown: hiberread="440503000" 440s is too long. You use an old 40GB HDD (SEAGATE ST340014A 40.0GB), maybe the drive is now at is end of lifetime. Install Windows to a different HDD.
check the value mediabootinstall in the registry under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software/Microsoft/Windows/CurrentVersion/Setup/OOBE/. If the value is 1 you used a full version, if 0 you installed an upgrade.
I found an issue with WinDbg. When I opend a dmp file and run the command lmo D sm to list all loaded modules, the screen is not updated. I have to scroll a bit to see that result. Can anyone repro this?
so MS shows some new things: http://blogs.windows.com/windows/b/bloggingwindows/archive/2013/05/30/continuing-the-windows-8-vision-with-windows-8-1.aspx You can now have different tile sizes and use the desktop wallpaper as "metro" background: and you'll get the startbutton (not the menu ) back. Win 8.1 will also include the IE11.
