i would NOT recomend a dfi to a non overclocker, they give way to many options to be safe. gigabyte makes good boards, iv heard some horror stories from asus but they cant be too bad. also dfi boards can be picky with the ram, some will work others wont, just chance realy....

also did you nlite your install? if you did you could have disabled them with a tweak from there. i would recomend searching for a registry tweak to fix it.

[REQUEST] Admin Packs and Speedfan
spazmire11 replied to luke.mccormick's topic in Application Add-Ons
here is a addon for speedfan, http://www.megaupload.com/?d=H90X64L6 -
modifype is not the extraction program, expand is. modifype is a tool so that windows does not complain that you modified files
-
why not use addons then? http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showforum=132 no hassele just add them to your nlite install and come to a computer with the applications installed

spazmire11 replied to JmD's topic in Windows XP 64 Bit Edition
thos dirvers are not neccasery, they are only needed so that windows setup can be made to detect your sata hardware, since you did not need the disc your using a ide drive and do not need the drivers. -

as of now no. some games however can take advantege of 64bit, farcry for example. however 64bit windows does not give any preformance addvantege OR disadvantege for 32 bit games.

public realse 3.0 is in 3 weeks from tomorow, when private beta 2.5 realses to beta testers. currently gdogg is not accepting any more beta testers from his small group, to be a beta tester you have to contribute alot to gain gdoggs trust.

[how do i] install apps at T-13 / via svcpack.inf
spazmire11 replied to oioldman's topic in Application Installs
svcpack is generaly not a time when users CHOSE to install apps why? its the most premature time in setup other then detachedprograms this means your more likely to run into issues, but many apps work durring this time. basicly all you do is make a silent installer (or you can run the program with necasery switches as well) place that in the SVCPACK folder in your i386 folder on your xp cd then in svcpack.inf under the [setupHotfixesToRun] section (create it if its not already there) place the name of the exe(and switches as applicable) thats all! it is most commen for addons to use this method btw so if you need help just use nlite and integrate a addon and look at the output. -

-
well are you stilll in last known good config? if you are then i suggest you reboot to normal mode. if yyou are in normaly try removeing the acpi uniprocesor system driver, that should make windows detect the dual core.............

heres a bundle of info on the ms site about infs and what you can do with them http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default....a14a671.xml.asp i use it for my reffrence, so thought id share....
-
generaly the best method is the one you feel most comfortable with. they all have advanteges and disadvanteges: Runonceex: hard to learn if your new to registry, good looking Batch: easy to learn, not so great looking WPI: good looking, too many features for some id argue. SVCPACK: only used in the case of addons for nlite id have to say.

no i dont think any of you got what he was asking..... he wants to know if he can BOOT linux on his PC from his IPOD i would think this is posible, however i have never seen it done. google search may be of some use here.

Why should I upgrade to latest DirectX?
spazmire11 replied to pcalvert's topic in Windows 2000/2003/NT4
some desktop applicatsions like windowsblinds use driectx i belive, in most cases its fine just to leave it nonupdated, due to the fact that graphics card drivers will take care of most bugs, also for clarifactation updateing only directx does not pose a graphical inprovement, your games/app have to support it first and then normaly it is required for them to run at all. -
Glossy Theme Update
spazmire11 replied to Kelsenellenelvian's topic in Windows Post-Install Wizard (WPI)
imo the sides look a little pixilated, not much to worry about but some better blur might fix that up. -
also if the games do not work you can run them in compatibilty mode, just right click the shortcut and select the os you want to run it as in the compatibilty tab.

you can use nlite to remove alot of things. be ware tho that some things that may not seem necasery may still be need for your sittuation, i can tell you though if your only doing audio stuff you can remove alot of things from a install and still have all of the functionality.
