  1. WinXP and Win2k usually have built-in drivers. Win98 will need drivers, they should be included on the CD that came with the adapter.
  2. Is external hard drive enclosure powered from USB or from external power supply?
  3. Every Dell has a Service Tag, enter it in here: http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/...s=19&l=en&s=dhs
  4. How about CD business cards? http://www.ebusiness-cards.co.uk/
  5. Partition Magic http://www.powerquest.com/partitionmagic/
  6. Works for me. 1 AGP card and 1 PCI card. PCI card should be in slot nearest AGP slot. Win98, Win2k, WinXP, all support dual monitors.
  7. I'm not so sure your monitor is bad. Viewsonics are very good and your model is even better. Maybe you're just unlucky and it was time for it to go. Don't turn it off, let the computer "turn it off". I've got a 19" MAG and it does the same kind of clicking. I never turn it off, when the computer shuts down, the monitor "goes to sleep".
  8. You've got a 3 year warranty. Clicking is normal. Don't turn off monitor. When you turn off computer, monitor will enter PowerSaver mode. http://www.viewsonic.com/support/desktopdi...roseries/pf790/
  9. Tell your cousin to read the Owner's Manual.
  10. Bootable partitions MUST be primary. Non-bootable are logical.

  12. What you want to know is here: http://win2k3.MSFN.org/ All you applications will work, but many peripherals will not (mouse drivers, digital camera drivers, scanner drivers). Win2k3 was designed to be a Server, not a Workstation, but it can be tweaked to perform more like a workstation. I used an evaluation copy for several months. If you want to try out your copy, create a separate partition and configure for a multi-boot (I use Partition Magic/Boot Magic).
  13. 2 Versions of Windows 2000 (Win2k) Windows 2000 Server Windows 2000 Professional Windows 2k-Pro is what you want for your desktop.
  14. Nexuz: TweakUI 2.10.0.0 has no selection to perform this function. If you would read it is says: "If you are running an evaluation version of Windows, the version will always be displayed. strider_D_3000: Installation of VB6 does nothing to help. For those of you who cannot or refuse to read, this thread refers to TweakNT, not TweakUI. They are not the same.
  15. Tried it 3 times and is DOES NOT work. Windows Server 2003, Enterprise Edition, Evaluation Copy, Build 3790
  16. Partition Magic 7.0 can copy partitions, so I assume 8.0 does it, too.
  17. In the 3 months I've been using Win2k3, this happened 1 time. I don't know why or what caused it. Never happened again. I wasn't using the machine at the time.
  18. Control Panel -->Power Options--> APM. Check box: "Enable Advanced Power Management support"
  19. Symantec (formerly Norton) Ghost for me, too. I use it every week to image backup all three bootable partitions. Only about 630kB, so will fit on bootable (DOS 7.0; aka Win98) floppy disk.
  20. Correction to you. From the Linksys BEFSR41 manual: "NOTE: For ease of installation, start with LAN Port 4, then Port 3, then Port 2, and finally Port 1." It does not matter which ports you connect, pick any 2 of the 4 for your 2 computers.
  21. December, 2003. There is a beta version out there, but it wouldn't complete the install. http://www.winnetmag.com/WindowsServer2003...ArticleID=39365
