  1. Whats a cal?
  2. Is it just human nature to take sides? I think so. and this proves it. Aegis has an independent project and so does gdogg. They are catering to slightly different things. It is not about who is the best. It is about what the project is all about. Thats it. Consider yourselves lucky that there are two forum members going all out to create awesome community projects for free. Leave the trash talking for somewhere else and let Aegis and gdogg do their thing.

    XP Secrets

    Some are kinda cool.
  4. This pic has been out for a LOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG time!
  5. These are some interesting comments about Windows 98SE. No viruses aimed at it? Really? I kind of find that hard to believe considering the Internet is such a huge place!
  6. That is why they have that monster heatsink in there! Have you seen the size of that thing? I bet that thing weighs half the whole system weight!
  7. LOL THis is awesome! Finally morons who sitll use Symantec will learn!
  8. Hmm I am needing to use OE for this one email account. Probably a bad idea in terms of security but there is no way I am getting spam in that email account because it is a company email. I heard of this bloat problem before. Kind of poopy that it is still around!
  9. A matter of opinion ripken. Oclocking makes no sense in that you are actually killing your hardware. That is why workstation mobos dont have oclocknig features. That does not mean a person with a dual opteron 280 setup and 8 gigs of ram and quadro 4500s in sli mode and a 30 inch lcd is not an enthusiast despite the fact that he doesnt oclock.
  10. mmX is right on the money. Now the focus is on huge huge increases in quality of the images displayed. More features and better looking games. So gpus will have to be really powerful to handle it all thus the inrease in fps is an added bonus. I want to be able to play at 2560 x 1600 any game with everything maxed out by a single card.
  11. No prob always here to help! Where in India are you from anyway?
  12. Great point raskren. It is just that a standard professional XP cd install is what 600 mb? That is quite a jump from 600 mb to 2 gigs! Surely WindCal, Defender, IE7, WMP11, etc etc are not going to result in that big of an install!!! Unless the server functionality and all that enterprise stuff is going to be included in it as well!
  13. Older versionso f Windows dont get IE7
  14. That post was really hard to read....but uhh...I am taking that you are saying 98 is faster to boot but not stable...compared to XP. And that when it comes to heavy application loads XP will work better. I would not use 98 unless it was for running old games! Definitely not surf the net on that OS!
  15. Some rivlary going on looks like.
  16. Check out inmotionhosting.com if you are interested. Their service is great.
  17. You could have had spyware on your machine prior to the SP2 install. I think that is your problem. A lot of my friends got f**ked when SP2 was released the first time because their machines were alread y playing hosts to malicious software. SP2 is a total recompile of key internal components that prevent buffer overflow attacks. Note how after the update every bug fix is non buffer overflow related. So maybe a fresh reformat would do the trick. Reformat and then update. Then install other software.
  18. The fact that Vista is going to be released on DVD should sound ominous cause that probably means there is going to be a lot of bloat and nLite for Vista if it does come out will be quite busy getting rid of bloatware!
  19. I read there is a new sound stack where you can control the volume of individual apps in Vista.
  20. Incorrect. Vista is based on Win 2k3 SP1 code just like Windows XP 64 bit is. So there will be bugs but I am hoping less because they had a very solid baseline to start from. I just hope all the avalon and the presentation foundation crap they added is not full of security holes. And also just because Vista is implementing UNIX style security is not going to protect end users unles they DO use that feature. I hae seen a disturbing trend where the beta testers are turning that feature off....stupid really come to think about it. MS is getting flak for morons.
  21. Yeah i read that all the bits will be there on the dvd and the customer can unlock them by getting on the website and paying with their credit card. I think there is potential for hackers getting more than their money's worth however. Anyway I think Vista 64 bit will definitely be pushing for more apps but just like the way x64 was not as succesful in that respect I think the same might happen with Vista as well. Only enthusiasts are using x64 AFAIK. And they love it.
  22. So you are disagreeing with me....but thats fine because I have personally not used IE 7 only bits and pieces of info scrounged from IEblog and other places. But whate features does IE7 have besides security that Maxthon on IE6 does not have?
  23. I read there were 2 more flaws discovered even after the WMF patch was released .Granted that it was not as serious as the original flaw but still some lesser flaws remain.
  24. What does that rather complicated command do?
  25. albator I think my post above should answer your question...if indeed that is what you are looking for.
