I will go with XP 64 since it is based on Windows 2003 SP1 and also is 64 bit capable. So it is practically the best of both worlds. The only problem I see is that not every one has 64 bit processors and not all manufacturers have relased 64 bit software. But that will change with the upcoming Vista which will have a 64 bit flavor. I think at that time a wise upgrade from 32 bit XP would be to 64 bit XP while MS works out all the kinks in Vista. Vista is the regular OS and the Longhorn is the server OS. Vista nad Longhorn are based on wind 2k3 SP1 as is XP 64 bit.

On a similar thread I have an error where I think i used nLite RC 2 and used the Ryanvm pack a while back and got an error when updating Win XP through automatic updates. I think ryan pack had some problems then...I was wondering if anyone knows a workaround to that problem. I mean everything works except when it does not update with the ryan pack. It would be great if someone could point me in the right direction.

Wow this is badass....so some good did come off of Seagate having bought Maxtor. Now Western Digital is threatened. I mean is it really hard for them to make a 500 gig spin at those speeds?

Anytime you are over 50% I think performance in hdds slows down considerably. 95% should be a nightmare. Prob not even enough space to run a defrag.

It does not use Java. You can disable JRE for it. Only the dbase part uses Java god knows why and that is not the reason why it has a slow startup time...the reason why it has a slow starupt time is because it has to load everything into memory which unlike in MS Office has parts already loaded in memory...and given that MS wrote XP and MS wrote Office, they would know their system internals better to speed up the loading process.

I dont use AA for HL2 since on my laptop I played it at 1920 x 1200 with everything cranked except for 4x AF and no AA. It was already sharp as a tack the images.

Now I feel a lot more confident about Vista. Good read especially part 2. I am glad to see MS is on the HD bandwagon. All these extra multimedia management tools would come in very handy! Very nice. I just didnt like that comment about Itune ripping WMP off...I am not a Mac fanboy but it seems like Apple has been blazing a trail and the rest are trying to follow lately and not the other way around.

Beta with some benchmarks would be great.
