  1. You know, this was a good idea, didn't work though. But just so a person reading this doesn't go back empty-handed, here you go, The Win32s compatibility list by Stephan Großklaß (now maintained by Gaby Chaudry): http://stephan.win31.de/w32slist.htm I'm pretty sure you can find Win32s (the Latest Version is 1.30) on the internet somewhere. WinWorld has a copy, if I am correct. win31.de has one as well
  2. I would assume something like a few dozen or hundred people or the extremely few companies that rely on Windows 3.1 specific software use it. Then of course, there are the people who either feel nostalgic or think Windows 3.1 looks cool and keep a 386 or 486 box around. But, if I were to guess, most Windows 3.1 installs are on VMs.
  3. Wait a minute, I just realized, it says "...because the site uses a security protocol which isn't enabled." Does that mean the protocol exists but is not enabled by default? Also I may have found your problem: https://github.com/rn10950/RetroZilla/issues/47
  4. Windows 3.1 is NOT to be downloaded "legally". Abandonware literally means Abandoned software. I'm sure Microsoft won't be too happy if you ask them for a 'legal' download. The only legal way to get a copy of Microsoft Windows Version 3.10 is if you bought a retail copy from your local store back when it still was on shelves. Literally no one cares where a person gets their Win3.11 copy from nowadays, but I'm sorry, you can't get a legal copy, you couldn't get one for like, the last two decades, that's literally why it's abandonware. Edit: I just realized, I sound angry or mad or something, sorry for that.
  5. I'm pretty sure you can't use other versions of DOS than the one bundled with Win9x when installing it. It may be because these versions of MS DOS are made to specifically work with Win9x and other DOS may not be configured in Windows's best interests (or should I say, Microsoft's best interests, yeah that was a thing back then, AARD code, if I'm correct.) Also, no MattKC didn't install 98 on FreeDOS, that was definitely MSDOS bundled and installed with 98. Have you tried making a partition in Fdisk? Also I wouldn't recommend making a partition larger than 2 GB (you really don't need even close to that amount, but ok)
  6. Have you checked your date and time to make sure it's correct? Usually that causes problem with Https, that doesn't seem to be the case here (since you can access the site), but better to be safe than sorry.
  7. me too. but the truth is, if it was implemented, there would be little difference (at least to the end user) between retrozilla and some actually functional browser that you would want to use, since sites like YouTube rely on HTML5 video and audio. it's sad :'( . but maybe one day, retrozilla will spring back into existence like never before and actually implement these things. rn10950 apparently did want to make a RetroZilla 3.0 based on an updated gecko tho. wonder how that would have looked like.
  8. welcome and welcome to people who are welcome and those who are thanking everyone for saying welcome and just... welcome to everyone in general.
