  1. The 32 GB limit is due to Windows 95 non-support of FAT32 (only FAT16) and the maximum size for a FAT drive is 32 GB (using some 3rd party utilities can get a 64 GB FAT32 drive) but at that size the cluster size is 32 KB and 64 KB respectively which is ridiculously huge and causes a lot of wasted space.
  2. I think Petr was referring to Fdisk, that works independently in DOS without using ESDI_506.PDR.
  3. Could you please make one for Windows Millenium ? Please please... ? , I have a 160 GB hard drive but don't have 98SE only Millenium... Here's my ESDI_506.PDR (attached): ESDI_506.zip
  4. Is the computer's time and date set correctly ? I had this problem once and took me days to find out it is as simple as that...
  5. Can you change my username from ChipCraze23 => n7Epsilon ? Thanks a lot !
  6. The largest I downloaded on dial-up was Service Pack 2 for XP (272 MB)... Then I got ADSL...
  7. More profit for M$ ! (wow! another Rockman fan! - notinthisworld)
  8. 4.39 is out ! http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/sevenzip/7z439.exe
  9. ResEdit (by TGTSoft) is the best tool for that...
  10. I think he means to a DOS startup disk (like a Windows 98 Boot Floppy)... In XP, it's very easy to add other executable extensions...
  11. I don't think that this is possible in DOS because DOS reads a file differently according to its extension... You could just add XMSDSK.EXE (like I do) to the floppy, and make a RamDisk with letter Z:, copy .abc to it as .exe and run, then remove xmsdsk.exe from memory... To make sure that the RAMDrive letter is always known, put "LASTDRIVE=Z:" in Config.SYS and use xmsdsk.exe parameters to make the RamDrive to Z: You will need to have at least DEVICE=HIMEM.SYS in your CONFIG.SYS file for it to work. You can see XMSDSK.EXE parameters by executing "XMSDSK.EXE /?" -- XMSDSK.EXE here (11.57 KB): xmsdsk.exe
  12. But you need to be running Windows XP Professional in order to see that option to uncheck it in the first place.
  13. Did you remove or disable the "Volume Shadow Copy" service ? Hope that helps...
  14. This post is going to go down very quickly... Nothing Microsoft does can stop determined people... but still... It is against MSFN forum policy to post workarounds to WGA as this puts MSFN.org in dubious legal status... MSFN doesn't want to get on the ugly side of M$'s lawyers... And that is because MSFN is considered responsible for posts made in its forum... Microsoft can't protect the tool because you can disable SFC...
  15. You shouldn't ask for full version programs / games in this forum... It is against the MSFN rules...
  16. I found another way to do it too ! I used the background eraser to erase the background (and protecting the color of the edge) and then the magic eraser to quickly get rid of the rest of the background... Then I used the normal eraser (small pixel size) and the smudge tool to fix any jaggies...!
  17. I appreciate your response, but that is what I’m trying to avoid..., I can magnetic lasso the whole character... but I thought there was a filter or plugin or something in Photoshop that could detect the glow (like the example below) and automatically selecting the whole character and allowing me to export a transparent image... I don’t mind the glow (it looks good), but the problem is that the character is very big and it would take a whole lot of time to cut out properly... (with no jaggies..) (Maybe I’m being too lazy...) What I basically want is how to cut out the T (with its glow) and and export it into a new transparent image without tracing it with the lasso... Is there a tool to auto-trace the T guided by its glow ?
  18. Hi, I’ve been playing with Photoshop CS2’s features and was very impressed... I wish had more photshop skills like some people here (grafx1’s Windows Vista box is awesome !!)... I have a wallpaper with a character in the middle having a very clear (and continuous) outer glow..., but it on a very bad background... Is there a way to easily extract this character on a transparent background without having to “magnetic lasso” him (which is a very big pain), Magic Wand doesn’t work properly (because the background is checkered and patterned so Photoshop can’t properly lock on the subject... Is there someway to make photoshop create a marquee selection around exactly the glow (using it as a guide..) ??? Please, can someone point me in the right direction...? Thanks, any help appreciated...
  19. I like to jumble up combinations of random names and numbers... (even my email address) I made up the name doodling in a boring Physics class...
