  1. For now, wumt and wsusscn2.cab is still able to search, download and install updates. Probably is a good idea to backup wsusscn2.cab. Microsoft might remember to delete older updates at anytime from now. (Top: vista sp2 vanilla, Bottom: xp sp3 + posready)
  2. My vista system now shows 0x80072efd error every time I search for updates. I suppose vista updates should still work because of windows server 2008... Can anyone confirm that updates are also down for vista?
  3. Take a look at this ftp
  4. It should be a intel 810 chipset Try this https://download.cnet.com/win9x67-zip/3000-2108_4-104242.html Supports PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_7121.DeviceDesc="Intel(R) 82810 Graphics Controller" PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_7123.DeviceDesc="Intel(R) 82810-DC100 Graphics Controller" PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_7125.DeviceDesc="Intel(R) 82810E Graphics Controller" PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_1132.DeviceDesc="Intel(R) 82815 Graphics Controller"
  5. I have to ask... how do you have so much detailed information about updates and which versions of the files are updated or not? Is it all about experience / trial and error? Because I was thinking that it would be interesting to make an index about every dll and exe version, where to get them (KB number that includes the updated file) and some kind of utility that scans your system and displays outdated files for you. Like an improved windows update.
  6. 1. Do you have 4GB or more of ram and there are 64bit drivers available? If yes install 64bit. 2. Try to download a VISTA installer that has SP2 integrated. It's faster and cleaner. 3. Yes. Windows update is bugged. Before connecting to internet you will need to install these updates: KB4019204 KB4012583 KB3205638 KB4015380. If you already have IE9 installed, you also need KB4018271. Grab them from here 4. There is no problem if you don't follow the correct order. Superseded updates will fail to install so there is no risk to install out of date components.
  7. Server 2008 also has the Extended Security Update program like Windows7. The KB numbers are public and can be downloaded through the microsoft catalog. But can't be installed on windows server 2008 without some more or less legal patching of windows update dll's. As far as i know, they run on an unpatched windows vista but, just like any other server 2008 update, might not work as intended.
  8. Thank you for the links. Can you tell the correct order to install those updates?
  9. Hmm, I've been trying to build a home and pro iso with all the updates but without much success. Using the update list on the 1st post and wget, I was able to download the required updates for XP sp3 pt-pt but if I use nlite to integrate, some updates are not installed and if I use DXUPAC to create an update pack, the installer fails with missing files. Is there any of you doing this? I rather have a ready to install ISO for old pc's than the individual updates. I'm trying to create the most clean implementation. Also, I've also made a list of updates by installing a clean XP PRO SP3 on a virtual machine and I've noticed that windows update offers me some updates that are missing from the list. Are they superseeded? 10. Maybe that device is password protected? I've seen before when someone attempts to do a secure erase and it fails. The disk gets locked until the proper password is set and security is once again disabled. Sometimes the password is <blank> or just "password" I would try to use hdparm on a linux distribution (example: hdparm -I /dev/sdb ) and see if the security option is enabled because the SMART status is OK
  11. Looking forward for a MUI update to try out! Anything I can do to help?

Because everyone seems to have some sort of local repository but they are never complete.
  13. Free File Sync dropped support for Windows XP, Server 2003, and Vista. It's quite an handy tool for my work. I use it to backup computers to remote servers on every logoff Last working version: 10.11 (I don't know how long this link will work)
  14. KB4018466 -> Superseeded by KB4486465 KB4019204 -> Superseeded by KB4493927 kb4024402 -> fix for smb vulnerability. maybe it's included in newer patches? Those 3 installed updates were never offered to my XP "pos-ready" clean install
  15. Hello all I'm TigTex and I work on a hardware/software repair shop and it's crucial that I have high knowledge about microsoft products and debugging. So, just like many other known foruns, I've registered so that I can help and learn something new See you soon!
  16. Hello MSFN I've been following this thread for quite some time and doing some experiments with this. I'm trying to create 2 updated ISOs with Windows XP Home and Windows XP PRO, each including all xp and posready updates and all custom updates. So, using vmware and 2 original ISOs with sp3, I've applied the posready registry tweak and scan for updates with windows update minitool until there are no more updates (excluding .net framework) @ED_Sln, I've seen your list and I found this info that it might be relevant for you These are all updates that I've found kb892130-enu kb898461 kb909520 kb923561 kb923789 kb929399-v2 kb939683 kb941569 KB942288-v3 kb946648 kb950762 kb950974 kb951376-v2 kb951978 kb952004 kb952069-v2 kb952287 kb952954 kb954154 kb954155 KB955704 kb956572 kb956844 kb959426 kb960803 kb960859 kb963093 kb968389 kb969059 kb970430 kb971029 kb971513 kb971657 kb972270 kb973507 kb973540 kb973815 kb973869 kb973904 kb974112 kb974318 kb974392 kb974571 kb975025 kb975558 kb975560 kb975713 kb977816 kb977914 kb978338 kb978542 kb978695 kb978706 kb979309 kb979482 kb979687 kb981997 kb982132 kb982665 kb2115168 kb2229593 kb2296011 kb2345886 kb2347290 kb2378111 kb2387149 kb2393802 kb2419632 kb2423089 kb2443105 kb2478960 kb2479943 kb2481109 kb2483185 kb2485663 kb2492386 kb2506212 kb2507938 kb2508429 kb2509553 kb2510531 kb2510581 kb2535512 kb2536276-v2 kb2544893-v2 kb2564958 kb2566454 kb2570947 kb2584146 kb2585542 kb2592799 kb2598479 kb2598845 kb2603381 kb2619339 kb2620712 kb2631813 kb2632503 kb2653956 kb2655992 kb2659262 kb2661637 kb2676562 kb2686509 kb2691442 kb2698365 kb2705219-v2 kb2719985 kb2723135-v2 kb2727528 kb2749655 kb2757638 kb2770660 kb2780091 kb2802968 kb2803821-v2 kb2807986 kb2808679 kb2813345 kb2820917 kb2834886 kb2834904-v2 kb2847311 kb2850869 kb2859537 kb2862152 kb2862330 kb2862335 kb2864063 kb2868626 kb2876217 kb2876331 kb2892075 kb2893294 kb2898715 kb2900986 kb2904266 kb2909212 kb2914368 kb2916036 kb2922229 kb2926765 kb2929961 kb2930275 kb2957503 kb2993254 kb2993651 kb2998579 kb3004361 kb3013126 kb3020393-v2 kb3021674 kb3029944 kb3033889 kb3033890 kb3035132 kb3065979 kb3067903 kb3078601 kb3081320 kb3087039 kb3092601 kb3109560 kb3121918 kb3124624 kb3126587 kb3126593 kb3139914 kb3140709 kb3145739 kb3149090 kb3161561 kb3161949 kb3170455 kb3178034 kb3183431 kb3185911 kb3196718 kb3197835 kb3198510 kb4012583 kb4012584 kb4014652 kb4014794 kb4015383 kb4019276 kb4022747 kb4024323 kb4025218 kb4025409 kb4025497 kb4026061 kb4034775 kb4039384 kb4041995 kb4047211 kb4052303 kb4056564-v2 kb4056941 kb4089082 kb4089175 kb4089453-v2 kb4089694 kb4091756 kb4101477 kb4130957 kb4291391 kb4294413 kb4343674 kb4457163 kb4458000 kb4458001 kb4458006 kb4458318 kb4459091 kb4462935 kb4462987 kb4463103 kb4463573 kb4467689 kb4467770 kb4468323 kb4470118 kb4473077 kb4486463 kb4486465 kb4486468 kb4486536 kb4486538 kb4486924 kb4487085-v2 kb4487086 kb4487989 kb4487990 kb4489493 kb4489973 kb4489973 kb4489974 kb4489977 kb4490228 kb4490385 kb4490501 kb4491443 kb4493341 kb4493435 kb4493563 kb4493790 kb4493793 kb4493794 kb4493795 kb4493796 kb4493797 kb4493927 kb4494059 kb4494528 kb4495022 After comparing them with your updates, I see that you have some updates that are no longer offered trough microsoft update KB953155 not offered KB954708 not offered (WIA ) KB887606 not offered KB932716-v2 not offered (imapiv2) KB943729 not offered KB951618-v2 not offered KB961118 not offered KB961503 not offered KB975254 not offered KB976323 not offered KB982316 not offered KB2124261 not offered KB2290570 not offered KB2447961 not offered KB2491683 not offered KB2801109 not offered KB2813347-v2 not offered KB2834903-v2 not offered KB2868038 not offered KB2884256 not offered KB2933528 not offered KB2991963 not offered KB3139398 not offered KB4018271 not offered KB4025398 not offered ---------------------------------- KB954920-v2 not offered server only?
