  1. TWO XP sightings today! First one was at CountryMax ( a farm/pet supply store). It was on a cash register. Interestingly, the other two registers ran 7 and 10, leaving none with the same OS. No picture for this one, sorry, the cashiers were conveniently in the way. The second was Windows XP Embedded at Wegmans (Grocery Store), on a scale. Amusingly it was stuck logging on. They have many scales there, they probably run XP embedded as well.
  2. It says VFC above it and AMC (ATI Multimedia Channel) to the side and below it in your picture. It is an extension by ATI of the VESA Feature connector. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Feature_connector https://web.archive.org/web/20050210035518/http://www.ati.com/support/faq/amcvip.html Note that they say you CANNOT use an IDE cable (Assuming you even had an appropriate device to hook to it): But perhaps you can....
  3. Would an object like this be of use? https://www.ebay.com/itm/PCI-32bit-Dual-PS2-PS-2-Card-PC-Keyboard-Mouse-PCI-2Ports-PS-2-without-USB-/181671723885 Or would that require a driver the Windows 2000 installation would not have at Install?
  4. Windows POSReady 2009 has been spotted at a Canoe Shop. I am responsible for it being there, I am involved with the business and that was their loaner system until I got them their new Windows 7 PC up and running to replace a dead HP AIO. Dell Dimension 4700 if anybody's curious
  5. It seems to be different in the Finger Lakes Region. Here they all run Windows 7 with the classic theme.
  6. Windows XP has been spotted on the local news (Fox Rochester) No picture, it was just probably stock footage from years ago, as it showed the old Google logo.
  7. Fleetwood Mac - Big Love (Extended Remix) (1987)
  8. Reminder: Today is the last day AIM is online. Your AIM data will be deleted according to their FAQ.
  9. Well, the United States is losing its Net Neutrality, The FCC has voted 3-2 to remove the rules. It sounds like there is still some hope, there's congress and stuff, and talk that the FCC could be sued. https://www.theverge.com/2017/12/14/16776154/fcc-net-neutrality-vote-results-rules-repealed
  10. Welcome! As Trip hinted, make sure to read the rules. (http://www.msfn.org/board/guidelines/)
  11. Ah. I chose a proverb BASED on the translation. My bad.
  12. Essentially this means something like "We were all young (not full of knowledge and expertise) once." Essentially the people saying that an AV isn't necessary are (likely) forgetting the times when they weren't so knowledgeable about computers.
  13. Oh that's too bad, be sure to let us know if you pick it up again! Also, welcome To MSFN!
  14. It *probably* would violate the forum rules, because someone, somewhere could possibly still own the rights to that particular piece of software one way or another. Though I am not a moderator or an admin, nor am I a lawyer and they may think otherwise.
  15. It's not perfectly clear on my box TV but I believe I have spotted Windows XP on NBC Nightly news: See that monitor in the background? Looks to be Firefox on XP to me!
  16. 95 OSR2.5 was pretty solid, but I'm gonna have to say 98SE+USP3+98SE2ME and maybe KernelEx is the best.
  17. Greetings! Welcome to MSFN! Ahhhh, the good ol' days of VCRs... good times...
  18. Could you please share this file? Thank You!
  19. Ah. I certainly don't pay much attention to memes.
  20. Greetings! Nice to Meet You too!
  21. So I wasn't the only one to misread his username as spooky at first?
