    Well, it runs, at least... needed to reinstall, because the upgrade broke dvd drivers, and other things. I clean installed it and voila, it works...

    Well my netbook has ICH7 chipset, the modified inf "works", USB just dont work, it crashes the system it freezes.

    Terrible, broke my windows update, im downloading the iso i just cant upgrade, it tries to upgrade but fails with error code : WindowsUpdate_80240020 Tried everything, it doesnt work. Now im downloading the iso with the official toolkit.

    1) Boot on safe mode. (when it hangs on "detecting hardware") 2)Uninstall all system devices. 3) Run regedit and find the following string in the registry: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software/Microsoft/Windows/Current Version/Detect. Create a new string value called ACPIOption and set it equal to 2 4) Restart and continue the instalation.

    You need to install 98se without ACPI support, It hangs because it tries to install ACPI support.

    Will work if you install it without ACPI support (you can try installing it with ACPI but on some netbook it crash installing the acpi drivers) The LAN driver should work, the WLAN no. Video driver no, use the vbe9x. Audio: Impossible its HD bus.

    The RTL8191SE driver comes with a wireless client for windows 2000 (however it needs to be run with a wrapper or kernelex, otherwise it will complain about a dll)

    Well, my win 95 setup, has a program named "Star trek" that comes with a sound driver, it uses the pc speaker, it works pretty well. The driver is named "M.P. Technologies Wave Driver V1.1" (it comes with a "Sound palette MME driver" program to adjust pc speaker volume)

    Hello, im having problems on getting ntfs driver to work. I tried Paragon ntfs (this one installs, but says the disk is "out of range") I tried avira ntfs4dos and sysinternals one I think the problem is the driver not loading at startup. But i dont know. It doesnt work on 98 SE either, the driver doesnt load. Thanks

    Sorry if im wrong, in the bios is set as AHCI mode, not compatible.

    Well for me, on a netbook with AHCI enhanced mode, windows 9x boots fine without problems. Im dual booting with xp. Intel ich7 sata controller (There is no driver for 98, win 98 recognizes it as Standard ide).

    Windows 98 has problems with new ACPI standards, if you have bsods on the "install hardware phase", install without acpi. Also 1 gb ram is fine, my netbook installed without problems (without acpi) with 1 gb ram (With no patches)

    You can boot from the dvd, and wipe the hard drive and install, all from dvd.
