You mean the 98 text mode boot setup? (Like 2000 one) or the 98 graphical install?

Well... i found a driver "Intel Mobile utility" and it worked!! Its on the intel download center, the file is from 2008.

Well... the driver also has a setup program, it installs the "fnhotkey.exe" (It only shows a bar with the action of the fn key), and the driver. In vista it installs the .exe but not the driver. (it works on 7,xp and surprisingly in 2000)

C: is the boot volume. Then it loads the vista os or 7. Yes i need the driver. It manages the Fn key. Without it i cant control the display bright

There is a boot partition (C:) the windows 7 drive (D:) and other partitions, and vista is I: is the original driver, it works on 7 and xp.

Hello, im running Windows Vista sp2 with all the updates. I have a driver (INTEL IPML DEVICE) that works on XP and Windows 7, but it doesnt work on Vista. it says "Windows found the driver but cannot install it" I attached the .inf oem5.inf

Vista sp2 runs a lot faster than W7 sp1 on a netbook with atom n455 1.6 ghz and 1 gb ram. It really works great. In windows 7 you just cant do anything, the cursor lags, boot times over 3 minutes.

Look for someone that has the Realtek rtl8191se (has 2000 drivers), also integrated graphics intel gma 3150 (has too). I think if you found some laptop with it, it will be 2000 compatible.

Another question, my windows 2000 is on spanish language. But there is no spanish version of kernelex. I can install the english version? Thank you, and sorry for my questions.

Hello, i have a windows 2000 netbook, with all the drivers working (except for the usb camera, needs usbvideo.sys and doesnt work). Im currently using the old cigarette wrapper, because the games work with it. But to many apps doesnt. I can install the blackwingcat wrapper with the old cigarette? or i should install the blackwingcat wrapper and get rid of the old cigarette wrapper (im thinking its not being updated). Thanks!

I set the .sys to WIN 2000 sp4 compatibility mode, i checked the .sys file with WDMSTUB and needs only one dependency. Also i checked it with importpatcher and again some dependencies. No, its not working. Anyway the realtek wlan manager tries to load the driver, giving an error. PD: It calls to hal.dll and ndis.dll. Im thinking its impossible. Hello guys, well modifying the .inf file the RTL8191SE worked with KernelEx on win 2000 sp4 compatibility mode. I will attach the .inf working. Image of it: http://k32.kn3.net/0/3/7/8/E/8/12C.bmp The device manager detects it with the inf and is working without problems. Anyway the driver is not loaded. the rtl8192se.sys needs some dependencies. The win98se is a fresh install with autopatcher (07 version and 08)

Try disabling ACPI, most motherboards that include ICH7 and later chipset have problems with Windows 98. It seems that 9x doesnt know how to work with acpi apic .

I dont know if i need to install windows 98 se SP or anything else. What i should install? In what order? PD: I dont want to modify how it looks windows 98 (its fine for me).
