  1. Latest Logitech SetPoint software is version 4.72. Get it from the FileHippo page: http://www.filehippo.com/download_logitech_setpoint/ if you are using an older version of Setpoint, install v4.72 as it might solve some of the serious problems with previous versions
  2. Microsoft has posted the all language standalone downloads and DVD ISO image of Vista SP2 at Microsoft Download Center last night. Vista SP2 32bit edition for all languages Vista SP2 64bit edition for all languages Vista SP2 - all language DVD iso image enjoy!

  5. true, only when the second service pack for Win2000 was released. the original Win2k OS had some serious problems when it first came out. After SP2 came out in early 2001, Win2k became a reliable OS. The Automatic Updates feature was added onto Win2000 SP3 & SP4.
  6. WDM support in 98se, yes, BUT for mostly audio and modem devices. video cards/graphics cards are NOT included in WDM support for 98se/ME (shock! horror)! that I know from experience. that's why graphics card vendors still produced VXD drivers for win9x/me.
  7. the upcoming 2.56 version is now here - see next post
  8. New IE and AKB (ActiveX Killbit) security updates: IE MS09-019 - KB969897 security updates: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/969897 ActiveX Killbit KB969898 update (replaces KB960715): http://support.microsoft.com/kb/969898 New Root Certificates KB931125 Update [May 2009] released. Same direct download links as mentioned on MDGx's IE page.
  9. no problem, Drugwash. MDGx suggested to me to upload the newest version of the OSR2 SP and any future versions of the 98fe SP at Megaupload. Version 1.04 released. See first post on this forum topic for the links.
  10. Windows ME was definitely marketed and built for consumers/home users, not for business operations. Business & corporate users have steered clear of ME. smartie77, I also found out that WinME has an improved version of the Spider Solitaire game that included options of choosing difficulty settings, which was not found in the Plus!98 edition of Spider Solitaire. My HP Pavilion 7840 desktop PC came pre-installed with ME back in early 2001. btw, I may have plans to make an updated version of the unofficial ME SP this summer, if and only if the_guy (original creator of the ME SP) has no longer interest in making a new one. has anyone heard from the_guy lately?
  11. @ner: this is only the 5 language standalone edition [Wave 0] of the SP2 x86 installer. The "all language" standalone downloads [Wave 1] of Vista SP2 are available only for MSDN/Technet subscribers at the Technet Subscription downloads page, posted May 22. The all language standalone versions of SP2 will soon be available later this June.
  12. The integrated/slipstreamed SP2 downloads were made available on MSDN/Technet late May 11th as I've checked the MSDN & Technet Subscription downloads pages myself. These are only the "five language" standalone editions of the SP2 downloads. Those using Vista in other languages will have to wait for the "all language" standalone SP2 downloads to be publicly available next month. However, the All Language edition of Vista SP2 has been made available to MSDN/Technet subscribers on May 22 as I've checked the MSDN & Technet Subscription downloads pages myself recently. Edit: Look closely on those Vista SP2 downloads pages, puntoMX. They both make references to the "all language" standalone SP2 downloads but so far, those all language SP2 download links do not work.
  13. The Vista SP2 final downloads are now available (including the SP2 DVD ISO image) from Microsoft Download Center. Check out the New Downloads section of the Microsoft Download Center. Vista SP2 should also be available at Microsoft Update/Windows Update shortly.
  14. It looks like Windows Vista Service Pack 2 could be available to the public for download on May 26 as someone mentioned in one of the comments posted on this page: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd335036.aspx
  15. ANYTIME you download a torrent you are sharing and spreading the image. You have no clue how torrents work. Trust me I have been busted for torrenting in the past. Actuall men with badges and all that! and sometimes torrents can have unwanted malware/spyware/viruses in them which makes them more risky BTW - I looked at the posts at the bottom of this page: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd335036.aspx Vista SP2 will be posted at Windows Update and at the Microsoft Download Center on May 26.
  16. The Vista SP2 RTM DVD images are now available on the MSDN/Technet Subscription downloads pages; some of them posted on May 11 and others posted May 14. If you have either an MSDN or Technet account, login and get them.
  17. Check out the Technet Subscription Downloads page. More Vista SP2 downloads including the DVD images were posted on May 11th and May 14th. Sign in with your MSDN or Technet account to get these latest Vista SP2 DVD image downloads.
  18. hmm, are you dual-booting Win95 and Vista? also, what type of internet connection are you using? (best to send me email or PM, bizzybody, if you want to help more quickly as I mentioned at the beginning of this topic) Version 1.03 released. See first post on this updated release. So far, MDGx has not posted version 1.02 of the OSR2 SP on his web site. He may as well post up version 1.03 instead.
  19. nope. final release of Vista SP2 RTM DVD image should be built on April 10, not any other date. If he owns a vista license it's not warez no matter where he gets the actual installation media from. not always true, arctirus. It IS WAREZ if it was obtained from an unauthorized source that Microsoft does not approve of. many people seem to be concerned with the full standalone and full cd images of Vista SP2 and they nearly forget about the upcoming SP2 "express" installer (spclitegfx.exe) that can only be obtained from Microsoft Update/Windows Update. Not every Vista user out there will need either the full standalone or full DVD image of SP2; some just need the smaller SP express installer from WU/MU to install the SP2 components and I know that one can't be pirated 'cause that one will be available directly from the Microsoft source itself.
  20. yeah. not sure why Microsoft chose to remove CPU identification with versions 4.10.2223 (Q216204) and 4.10.2224 (Q272620/Q272621) of the SYSDM.CPL file for Win98se. It's a "cheap" way to fix the problem of the sysdm.cpl file incorrectly identifying newer CPUs when MS could have added new CPU info types onto it. Note to Gape: I have version 4.10.2223 of the USBMON.DLL and USBPRINT.SYS files from Q268656. These two files are bundled with certain Canon/HP/Lexmark USB printer drivers and are needed for USB printers to work properly under Win98se. Let me know if you need them.
  21. No version of DrvSpace works with FAT32 partitions, MDGx, including the Win95/98 & Plus 95 versions. ALL versions of DrvSpace can NOT compress FAT32 partitions. I know this for a fact [do Google or Yahoo searches on "drvspace" and "fat32"]. DrvSpace only works and compresses FAT16 partitions (and FAT12 partitions if using floppy disks) AND DrvSpace is limited to recognizing 2Gb FAT12/FAT16 partitions. thanks for the heads up, dencorso. tell MDGx about this so that he can retain the link to the 954430 XML 4.0 SP2 security update for Win98/ME/NT4 as well as the latest stable SeaMonkey browser release which is 1.1.16 and was released on April 8. Not sure why MDGx hasn't mentioned the updated SM 1.1.x release.
  22. There has been at least one Vista SP2 RTM download available at the MSDN subscription and Technet subscription downloads pages yesterday as I have checked myself. This is the one I saw at those pages: en_fr_de_ja_es_windows_vista_sp_and_windows_server_2008_sp2_x86_x64_ia64_dvd_342431.iso 1,376.79 (MB)
  23. Wave 0 of Vista SP2 RTM (5 language edition) was posted on the MSDN Subscription and Technet Subscription downloads pages in the afternoon of April 30 as I've looked myself.
  24. Hi Kelsenellenelvian, MagicAndre1981 & MPalmz: does anybody know what bilow's problem is and why he's mentioning about the non-final Vista SP2 pack? personally I'd avoid obtaining it. the "real" Vista SP2 will be released sometime in late May or June which will have a newer build number than the one he mentioned.
  25. Version 2.55 now posted at MDGx's web site. Full edition of 98fe SP: http://www.mdgx.com/spx/98FESP2.EXE Lite edition of 98fe SP: http://www.mdgx.com/spx/98FESP2L.EXE Changes: -added SYSDM.CPL file version 4.10.1999 from Q216204 -added QFECheck registry info on the ATL70.DLL, ATL71.DLL, MFC70.DLL, MFC71.DLL, MSVCP70.DLL, MSVCP71.DLL, MSVCR70.DLL & MSVCR71.DLL files -fixed some more install problems with certain components -updated ROOTSUPD.EXE file
