If you still have the HDD with the service running, then I would back-up all the registry entries and also look in the firewall exceptions list and see if the service is listed in there as well then backup reg of that then transfer over to the SSD drive..
  3. Nice! But bear in mind that the OP's OS is Windows 98. In addition, some certain CABS (depending on what reads it) uses MSZIP and I notice in the link that you don't have much control over the CAB creation. I converted the addon to a silent install commmand line batch file and it uses the LZX compression Just another option dont know about 98 as I havent used it in years..There is another send to cab app that I use with XP called CabTool and that one may do the job for the OP. http://www.wincert.n...to-style-build2
  4. This is what I use with right-click send to..Cab Maker V 3.3 http://www.wincert.net/forum/topic/6895-addon-cab-maker-v-33/

  6. For those of us who use Windows 8, you may have already discovered that our standby Win7 .vbs script/s that did restore points do not play well with Win8 now, I wasted about 3 hrs of my life trying to get a restore point script to work in Win8 but no go until I found a free standalone app called "The Restore Point Creator". You can pin a shortcut to your taskbar for easy access when needed...Dos ö¿ö http://www.osattack....dows-8-support/

  11. I Agree as well, great addition to Win 8.. On a side note I work in a retirement community and one of my customers had me do a set-up on their new computer, Of course when I finished they both asked me "Where is the Start button and all my programs?" and were also upset that the salesperson at Best Buy also failed to mention this as well, So having already anticipating just such an issue, I went ahead and installed SIB and configured all the programs along with installing all the windows 7 games back in needless to say they were overjoyed and life was good again!
  12. With this thread getting so large now (approaching 600 posts), It would be a good idea to include a Changelog from you of new previews, including which reg key or keys are affected, should and should not exist with proper recommended settings etc. I've previously asked for that - and asked that they (and any future updates) be added to the first post - because they are nowdramatic spread throughout nearly 600 posts and the changes are quite dramatic at times. I feel your pain and a lot of others as well, and frankly I don't have the time to scroll thru almost 600 posts trying to find the "sweet spot" settings..When a few screen shots and changelogs would keep us all up to date..B)

  14. Have a AutoIt Installer that works, but only on the older version, seems the newer nullsoft installer no longer supports silent.. Run('kmp.exe /S') WinWait("Installer Language","Please select the la") If Not WinActive("Installer Language","Please select the la") Then WinActivate("Installer Language","Please select the la") WinWaitActive("Installer Language","Please select the la") Send("{ENTER}") == UPDATE== I just d/l KMP Professional Plus v.3.5.0.77 with below silent batch and it installed Silently with no issues.. @echo off&color a&mode con: cols=60 lines=4&&title[~ KMPlayer ProPlus - Silent ~] ::Installs KMP Professional Plus v.3.5.0.77 - DosProbie.03.13.13 "KMP_35077.exe" /S /D cls echo KMSPlayer Installed Successfully! ping -n 3 127.0.0.1>nul exit
  15. You have the wrong registry path key should be: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\DWM] There is also 2 more key/s : [HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Software\Microsoft\Windows\DWM], [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\DWM] and for 64-bit at: [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Windows\DWM]
  16. I assume by "shortcut" you mean either a batch or .vbs file, anyway you will need to get your hardware id for the device that you want to enable or disable, so from command line type in: devcon find *> list.txt and that will give you all your IDs then use my example batch or .vbs that I use to toggle my Wi-Fi and revise as needed..Good Luck! @echo off&color a&mode con: cols=60 lines=4&&title[~ TOGGLE Wi-Fi On/Off ~] :: DosProbie ö¿ö - 03.13.13 :: Toggle.Device.Voice.cmd :: NOTE: CHANGE DEV_0083 TO YOUR SPECIFIC HARDWARE ID! :: To Find ID Run: devcon find *> list.txt ::CK IF ADMIN.. 17. For those of you that like to do proxy here is reg twk for that.. Add Proxy.reg
  18. SkipUserOOBE is only valid in Vista. It has no use in a Windows 7 or 8 answer file. Thanks for the info Trip, It doesn't effect my install for leaving it in, but I probably can always use a good housecleaning..
  19. True, some are that way but the one I am using does not require any extra files and the MS Games are all Genuine.. My customers are happy now as they can play there games like before..
  20. I answered and fixed my own question, the below script (remove .txt extension) installs the following missing windows apps back to the Start Menu similar to Windows 7. Accessories - Bluetooth Transfer - Mobility Center - Sync Center Maintenance - Backup and Restore Center - Create Recovery Disc - Remote Assistance Programs - Windows Update System Tools - Optimize Disks - Disk Cleanup - Private Character Editor - Resource Monitor - System Information - System Restore - Task Scheduler - Windows Easy Transfer Windows Ease of Access - Ease Of Access Center StartMenuApp.Addon.vbs.txt
  21. May be best to do a post install, otherwise you will probably get all the Mystart-blekko toolbar crap..
