  1. Is there a way to split a drive partition (1 hard drive currently partitioned as 1 partition) into 2 partitions JUST USING XP TOOLS? I don't have partition magic or other tools at this system, so I just want to use the built in XP managemnt tools. Thanks - LS
  2. try this one out --- 72x72 alpha blended etc. LS
  3. You have not provided much info on what you have already tried. The way to re-open your personal folders is: File Open -> Outlook Data File... Brings up the Open Dialogue Box Browse to where you saved the files (will be something like XXYYZZ.pst ) select the file and click OK If you have already done this - then we peobably need more info to help. 4. I went out this morning at 4:30 AM local time, and unfortunately it was a bit overcast. I only saw a few meteors - but they were quite bright and beautiful. Oh well - in 2033, it should be pretty good again. LS

  7. It has been a while since I actually STUDIED this stuff - but the basic definition I always recall regarding A I is that it can pass the Turing test. That is - if you can have a computer and a Human engage in a chat session (today's terms) and the human cannot tell that it is a computer making the responses on the other end - then that computer is said to have Artificial Intelligence -- also - an A I can learn and adapt based on history. On the other hand, an Expert System is an elaborate set of conditionals (or rules) like IF A happens check the status of B and based on that do C or D or E. Good luck on that date -- and let us know how it turns out LS_Dragons
  8. Hey Rick -- I think, since you did make the purchase on credit card - you should be able to just send it back as a misrepresented item. Almost all US credit card companies cover this type of situation. Another option - when the watch gets to you - DO NOT OPEN the box. Slam return to sender on it and drop right back in the post box. Then tell your credit card company you never received it and you want a credit. LS_Dragons
  9. Hey FathrJACK and GaMMa -- I have been mesing around with Lindows a bit and find it quite acceptable - even a relative newbie would be fine with this OS - mainly because they DON"T MESS AROUND with settings and stuff. I want to use Lindows as a tool to learn more Linux stuff. Any good references you could recommend as intro to Linux? Thnx - LS_Dragons
  10. One thing you may all be forgetting --- getting a PASSPORT is not much of a privacy concern if you do like ALL of us have done and JUST GET ONE. You do not have to provide any more private information than a stupid hotmail email account - FREE. I have 2 or 3 passports - and no 'profile' information on any of them. There are way many more microsoft practices to be concerned with than passport. LS
  11. I knew Les had a plan! Funny LS

  14. Not bad dude - but how come the age you claim on your own board (12) is different than the age you claim on this board (17)? Hmmmmmmmmmmm LS
  15. WELL!!!!! You know what they say about Oysters, right? I think the thing I would have to say is that I am ALWAYS right. hehehe At least I have to be proven wrong. LS
  16. Snag IT is quite good. It has quite a few features for sequential screenshots that are quite useful LS
  17. I absolutely agree with you all that MSFN is the best site for tech info etc. The only forums I looked at on Neowin were the skinning topics (visual styles and icons) LS.
  18. so bring a laptop and go WAR TRICKING!!! LS
  19. I have stumbled across what may be a Neowin substitute (for some of us) and may even get better than neowin. I know Lynchnot has been there (it is in a screenshot) but so the rest of you know: http://www.hardwaregeeks.com/ is a great site. Many of the visual style artists from Neowin are already active there. Please check it out and Join up!!! LS

  22. Linksys model I got was $49 at Fry's. They had some other brand for about 29 - but I decided to go with a brand I know and trust for a few $$$ more. This thing is great. I want to go get 3 3 system version now so when I bring my laptop home I can plug it up and use my regular keyboard, mouse and monitor. That will run closer to $75. Oh well, I do this stuff so I can tell you gyus how to do it better.... hehehehe LS
  23. I think that is the really only choice they have. They are not supporting the older OS anymore - and the new office will take advantage of features that are part of the newer OS. They will never be able to effect significant change if they keep having to support legacy crap like Win 98. LS
  24. can do that today with trillian! Go Trillian!!!!!!!!!
