  1. Hi Jumper, beginning with version 6.7 (I think) the toolbar in notepad++ is not showing up any longer and notepad++ has the tendency, although working fine, to crash on closing. A fix for the latter issue would be especially cool because it sometimes also causes an explorer crash on my systems. Thx. A fix for the toolbar may also help on a similar problem with the latest Sumatrapdf prerelease builds. http://www.sumatrapdfreader.org/prerelease.html
  2. USP 3.36 seem to install a ntdll.dll from XP, please see what happens when you manually downgrade to 4.90.3000 !
  3. @ loblo. I had a mprexe error too a few days ago but it was caused by a bad new entry I did put into kext's msvcrt.dll !! Try booting without kstub822 in core.ini to see if the error goes away then you know where to look for the culprit. Do you use the msvcr70 replacement dll for msvcrt.dll ??
  4. Menues are now fully displaying in SumatraPDF 3.0. Thanks Jumper !!! All other KernelEx depending programs seem to be working fine as well !! Great news.
  5. This may be also very old news but I honestly don't remember it being discussed here so I decided to post because I am quite surprised. Well, a few days ago I stumbled over a posting mentioning private builds of browsers and I researched that matter and I found several alternative versions floating around. The most promising looking was Rayflood. See here: http://rayflood.org/mozilla/obsolete.html#vc6 I did not expected much but I downloaded SeaMonkey 2.7.12 compiled with vc8 and vc9 and they both work without that I even had to set to win2000 or XP compatibility mode !!!!!!! And websites are rendered as I am used to !! So far, I always thought that SeaMonkey 2.6.1 was the last to work so I am quite excited. Unfortunately bookmarks still do not work but this could maybe be fixed by building it differently ? Maybe by omitting SSE2 ? http://rayflood.org/mozilla/seamonkey-2.7.12esr-rayflood-win32-vc8.buildconfig.html I hope that someone of you with the knowledge can maybe do alternative builds. There are even vc8/vc9-builds of SeaMonkey 2.14.9 and maybe this could be running with the help of Kext ? I have received an error message regarding msvcr80.dll - maybe Jumper can look into this !? All the best, MiKl
  6. Latest Notepad++ 6.7.1 still work but the toolbar seem to be broken !! Did anybody got it to work ? Seasons greetings !!
  7. In oleaut.dll 4520 the same string can be found at 29f20 Breaks the execution of the only vbscript I use. Until a proper fix can be made, something had to give. Microsoft's workaround was to disable VBScript entirely. In oleaut.dll 4520 the same string is located at 29f20. I suppose I can use the fix for this version as well ?
  8. Hi Grasso, I had similar problems on most of my systems and below please find my solution - hope it helps !! Please see Problemchyld's post # 62. He lists many 5.xx files - please find 4.90.xx versions of these and manually downgrade all of them. Re-start and see if USB is working now. If so you can then manually upgrade again one by one until you find the culprit(s). You have to re-start after each upgrade which is tiresome but I did not find a better way ... For example, on none of my systems I have a usbstor.sys higher than 4.90.3001 installed.

  10. Maybe on ME it worked but mpc-hc kept using its internal filters no matter what I tried. Only the old 6.4.9.1 played files and actually used lav filters. However, I hope the gui problem with vlc can be fixed anytime soon.
  11. Thx Loblo, I did not had the GetNuma-def in my kstub822.ini !! I could install LavFilters but it was not possible to configure mpc-hc to use it. Only the very old mpc 6.4.9.1 used lav filters.
  12. Thanks Loblo, I didn't even thought about mpc-hc for quite a long time because I used vlc more and more but the vlc-team must have changed something drastically because on their last nightly builds (both in the 2. and 3. line) the gui does not show up ! This may be fixed (for us) when they reach a stable release but I have not much hope. So, I have downloaded the latest Lavfilters - unpacked & upxed - but I am not sure what to do next. The included install .bat's do not work and I could not manually install the dll's either. What am I missing ? Thx !! Update: install_audio.bat from LAV 0.63 worked on a different PC now. Also install_splitter.bat but from an old version (0.60.1)
  13. MediaPlayerClassic-Home Cinema (1.6.0.4014) is asking for export-msvcrt.dll: _wsplitpath_s so I added this stub (without def) to kext but my system is then not booting properly. I also tried import-patching the mpc.exe with a msvcrt.dll that has this export function (7.0.6001.18000) but this dll is either too new/incompatible or I am still not doing this patching correctly It would be great if some of you could look into this. Thx, MiKl
  14. Hi Doug, I do not have a k452stub.ini in my KernelEx folder. Maybe this was an earlier version ? Just make sure that k452stub is not in the Core.ini under DCFG1 because otherwise this may cause trouble. But Jumper will surely know better. Did you ever used the EDL function of mPlayer ??
  15. @ DougB. Just add GetCurrentConsoleFont=z2 to the Kernel32 section of Kext and mPlayer will run again. (But Jumper may know a better def than z2) I played around with mPlayer the last couple of days but mp4 files are out of sync by several seconds !! I went this far with my settings but I had no succes (-autosync 100 -cache 2000000 -cache-min 99). Do you maybe have any suggestions ?
  16. Hi Pkkilleru, just a wild guess but did you tested different values for aperture size in the BIOS ?? Good luck, MiKl
  17. The new stable build of VCL (2.1.5) works beautifully after upxing !!
  18. IrfanView 4.38 and Plugins have recently been released and work perfectly.
  19. Sorry if this has been discussed before but I am wondering if dll's from the WINE project can be used ?? Especially ntdll.dll looks promising ! http://source.winehq.org/WineAPI/ntdll.html http://source.winehq.org/WineAPI/ole32.html http://source.winehq.org/WineAPI/advapi32.html
  20. Hi Jumper and everybody else, while browsing the internet I stumbled over an app that might be useful !! (But I am sure this is just old news ...) However, here is the link: http://www.steelbytes.com/?mid=47
  21. Hi Drugwash, thank you for your reply !! As this system was not broken - in fact it is rock solid - I will go after this issue when I have more time in the way you suggested. @ all. This may not be the best thread to ask, but the last couple of days I tried to get a cloned-win98se running on a USB-stick and after a couple of trial-and-errors I indeed reached the desktop. I was, of course, not surprised to see that all drives were in ms-dos-compatibility mode but am wondering if there is a patch around like RLoew's for SATA ??
  22. On one of my machines I also had the above mentioned "RUNDLL32 has caused an error in commctrl.dll" error. Renaming the folder "other" fixed it but I am wondering what is causing the error ? If there is a bad inf-file in it is there an easy way to find the culprit or is it necessary to test every one of it ? Are these files needed anyway ? Thx, MiKl
  23. Hi Loblo, I have these 'Get....' in my kstub: GetFileSizeEx=f2e120 ;D3DX9_43.dll 9.29.952.3111 GetGeoInfoA=z5e GetGeoInfoW=z5e GetSystemRegistryQuota=z2e GetSystemWow64DirectoryA=z2e120 GetSystemWow64DirectoryW=z2e120 GetUserGeoID=t1 GetVolumeNameForVolumeMountPointA=z3e GetVolumeNameForVolumeMountPointW=z3e Are there more useful ones to add besides GetLogicalProcessorInformation ?? Thx, MiKl
  24. @ erpdude8, while browsing through this board and over at MDGX I read that systray.exe 4.90.300x work also on Win98SE but it looks like as if it has never been added to NUSB. Does it break NUSB ?? Could you also say what needs to be patched in these files because I think I would need to do that with German versions. Thanks and best wishes, MiKl
  25. Hi guys, sorry if the answer to my question is somewhere buried in this thread. I have succesfully changed the size of the onscreen boxes for msconfig.exe or sysdm.cpl so that as much information is directly visible on the screen without the need to scroll up&down and/or left&right. I was wondering where I could do that for the 'explorer error message box' ? I think enough vertical space for 20 more lines would be enough. Thx, MiKl
