what app did you use that requires it? Some of my apps installed it, but was not needed to work.I deleted the version that was installed and all worked fine. I do not 'use' this version because of a certain app but because I noticed that you have the older one in your SP and I thought to test it and let you know if it seem to be O.K so you can test it also. Same for usbmon.dll (5.1.2600.5512 (xpsp.080413-0852)).

For my German Win98Se I unfortunately can't use your SPs directly to not mix English language files with the German ones but I always download your latest versions to check if there is anything in it that I don't have yet and want to test/use !! So I will look for that file or I translate dialogs and/or strings (if possible) with a resource hacker. Best regards, MiKl

Hi Problemchyld, I have noticed that pdm.dll is not included in SP3 !! I still have version 7.00.9466 running on my system but on my XP I found 9.0.30729.1. Is the XP-version (or later) not compatible with Win98SE ?? Or is it just not necessary to update this file ? All the best, Mikl

All the files that are not language neutral get them and put them in a folder. Make sure they are the latest, the same version as in SP3 but your language. Then get back at me. Would like to build a German-version of SP3 !! Is there a quick way to find out which files are not language neutral ??

Hi Guys, unfortunately I have another question. CorelDraw 11 seem to be not handling well the increased height of the list box because when I want to save files the dialogs which should be below the listbox are now covered by it !! Is there anything that I can choose for listbox in 'style', 'exstyle' or 'listbox' to inform corel about the new height ?? Charles, how exactly did you restore 'read-only' ?? Thank you, Mikl

So far I have installed .265 only on one PC with Kex 4.5.12 without any of your recent updates !! Grabbing just the dll never worked for me because SeaMonkey 2.0.14 always crashed. So I was quite happy when Schwubs found the way with the msi-installer from Adobe's website. No compatibility modes can be chosen on the msi.

Flash version 11.3.300.265 installed and seems to be running fine !!

It seem to have installed fine on my win98se but I noticed that the control panel where one should deactivate the next generation plug-in is gone. Is it the same on your system ? Jumper, can you please have a look on OpenOffice !? I have version 3.2 installed and with kstub running it unfortunately won't start. There was an error message about runtime and msvcr90.dll. Hi guys, the other day I have gotten some 'old' hardware and one was a HP Compac d530 with a Intel 865 chipset. First I thought cool but then ran into the usb-issues as well. So I tried the ACPIoption registry patch but after reboot there was now an exclamation mark on plug'n'play bios and almost none of the hardware was found. When looking into the BIOS I was shocked because I have never seen such a weird one. I also installed the latest BIOS but there was no progress. I think (!) I found were to disbale ACPI but nothing for APM and PNP OS. Does anyone maybe know what to do ? If possible I would prefer to not deactivate any hardware with the device manager. Hi Charles, thanks for your reply. After applying the patch the heights of the boxes are fixed which is of course not the best solution. But thank you for your tip about the ResourceHacker. O.K. I have now opened the comdlg32.dll with it and I noticed several 'entries' for sizes. Do you maybe know which one do I have to change ? All ? Thanks, Mikl

Sorry for resurrecting this old thread but earlier today when I was annoyed again by this tiny little dialoge boxes of win98SE I thought that maybe some of the great guys here already supplied a solution. Hi Schwups, based on my previous experiences in getting Seamonkey 2.0.14 reliably to print and since I don't want to play around with the registry I did the following. 1) In <winsysdir>, copy original COMDLG32.DLL to COMDLG00.DLL. 2) Place ComDlg32.dll in app folder AND into Windows Kernel Ex folder !!! When SM 2.0.14 is running open the print preview - wait a few seconds - close the preview and after that I can print without any problems. But this may be working only for me because I changed many things on my system before finding this awesome board !! Thank you very much Jumper and everybody else !! Oh by the way Schwups, on higher versions than 2.0.14 websites look like crap on my system !! Is it working for you ??
