  1. Thanks for the info !! Loblo, by the way - do you have the latest flashplayer installed and does the control panel work on ME ?? If not, could you - as the king of the hex'er look into it ?
  2. Hi Jumper, using Method 4 I could activate 6 of the 7 ActCtx and Open Office worked as it should. After activating FindActCtxSectionStringW=f5e it crashes on start. But unfortunately with even one ActCtx running MultiPlayerClassic6491 do not start at all. So I again had to take these out.
  3. SeaMonkey 2.0.14 works fine but OpenOffice crashes on start and the message box states Runtime Error R6034. Do I have to use iphlpapi4 here ?
  4. Hi Guys, sorry if this has been discusssed before or if it seems trivial. However, on my system the temp folder increases in content and size pretty quickly because some files just stay there. So I thought about a batch in autostart just deleting them but there is always the danger that some files that may still be needed - maybe for completing an installation, etc. - are deleted. So the solution would be to just delete files that are of a certain age and fortunately I found a cool little proggy. It is called DELAGE32 and can be downloaded here from the authors page. The awesome thing about the app is that you have several parameters for fine tuning. I created a batch with these settings. @echo off "... your path ... \delage32.exe" C:\WINDOWS\Temp\*.* 2 /includeH /includeRO /quiet *.* :all files to be deleted but it could also be *.tmp, etc. ! 2 :means that ONLY files older than 1 day are deleted (Not folders !!). Could be any number - even 1. /includeH :also hidden files /includeRO :also read-only files /quiet :no action from user needed After the first use the size of my temp folder decreased from around 20MB down to 4MB. Right now it is 2.5MB. I love it and it can also be used on the recycle bin, etc. Best wishes, MiKl
  5. Hi TmEE, do you mean the Windows disk cache or Opera's cache ?? Thx, Mikl
  6. There's nothing to talk to him about or tell him. You don't need his permission to update this. All you have to do is a find a place to upload the file and users will start testing. Xeno86 has left a long time ago and he doesn't plan on coming back anytime soon. If you are going to based the project off his feedback, then we can call it a dead issue. He's not responding to the Win9x community. If KernelEx is Open Source then I also don't think that you need Xeno's permission. I would love if you could do something to enable us to use as modern browsers as possible.
  7. Hi Jumper, in the last few days I have compared the performance of my system using i3 and i4 with SeaMonkey 2.0.14 and when using i4 there are some crashes of SM out of the blue doing nothing else than browsing. Printing is also much more reliable because although I can print using i4 - SM crashes right after the printing is done !! So I went back to i3. (I also have the feeling that GetTcpTable2 improves stability very much !!) I tried later versions of SM 2.0.14 as you have suggested before (thank you for looking into the matter !!) but they work very, very, very slowly and websites are not displayed correctly, mouse-over not working, etc. So unless there is now some progress on KernelEx I think I am stuck with 2.0.14.
  8. Hi Jumper, my Sunbird installation must have been really screwed because after re-installing it works flawlessly with I4 and the new defs ! Thank you very much - sometimes I am to blind to see the obvious thing And after commenting out these 'evil' actctx-entries OpenOffice is working here again too !! Even with msvcr...'s active again.
  9. Error message from Sunbird. Text is unfortunately in German. SUNBIRD verursachte einen Ausnahmefehler 03H in Modul KERNEL32.DLL bei 0187:bff768a1. Register: EAX=c0030900 CS=0187 EIP=bff768a1 EFLGS=00000246 EBX=00000000 SS=018f ESP=00c9fbb8 EBP=00c9fbec ECX=ffffff64 DS=018f ESI=7813221e FS=39df EDX=00000000 ES=018f EDI=00000000 GS=0000 Bytes bei CS:EIP: c3 cc cc 55 8b ec 56 57 68 c0 d4 fc bf e8 01 d9 Stapelwerte: 78132236 9c193b66 00000000 78130000 822e65f8 0000000a 00000004 00c9fbbc 00c9f9d0 00c9fdb4 78138ced e4cb8bd2 fffffffe 00c9fdc4 78132348 78130000 After closing the error box another message appears saying that NEGOTIAT.DLL is missing. Hope that helps. Will test more later this evening. Follow up: When using the new defs Sunbird and OpenOffice crash no matter if iphlpapi 3 or 4 is 'called'. Is this the correct term ? Follow up #2: Commenting out the msvcr... sections seem to have no positive effect on my system.
  10. Hi Jumper, with iphlpapi4 running both Sunbird 0.5 and OpenOffice 3.2 crash on start on my system so I had to go back to #3.
  11. Thanks Jumper. I have tried the kstub822.ini method but I am not sure if it had any effect on my system. SeaMonkey 2.0.14 does now start and works perfectly but SeaMonkey 2.14.1 still crashes 'blaming' msvcr100.dll. To avoid misunderstandings - I just c&p the four lines from post #101 into kstub822 (I did put them between credui and kernel32) and re-start, correct ? When you have the time could you test SeaMonkey 2.14.1 on your system ?
  12. What Iphlpapi dependencies does Dependency Walker list for SeaMonkey? GetAdaptersAddresses was written with Firefox in mind--I studied the 1.9.1 source code (nsNotifyAddrListener.cpp) and looked at the latest as well. And what method did you use? Try using Kstub822.ini to add the functions one-by-one. Note: Kexstubs definitions will override the local copy method. (In case you already have definitions from previous tests.) Hi Jumper, unfortunately I am not that much into all this great stuff so I can only hope that I give you some good infos. - I don't see Iphlpapi listed at all in DependencyWalker for SeaMonkey 2.0.14 !! I will try a later version asap because I seem to remember that they switched then to the Firefox gecko so it may work. Will report back but I have to set up a test machine again ... DW lists however many other problems for 2.0.14 - especially in ntdll.dll. - Did used the core.ini method. Thx Edit: Also the latest version 2.14.1 of SeaMonkey seem to not like iphlpapi.
  13. Unfortunately SeaMonkey 2.0.14 does not start with iphlpapi running.
  14. Hi guys, the other day I received some old hardware as a gift and of course I tried to install our beloved 98SE on it. Everything is fine so far but I was quite surprised that there really seem to be no IDE driver for nforce2 chipset. I checked several versions/revisions of the driver package but nothing. So I would like to ask if there is maybe an un-official driver ?? I really hope that I don't have to run this baby with MS standard drivers. Best, MiKl
  15. Sorry, but what are the needed properties of a start banner ? bmp, jpg, png ? Size ? My first try. Thanks
  16. On saturday SeaMonkey crashed with an error message relating to : ddeml.dll I have version 4.10.1998 dated 5.5.1999 running in my Win98SE but there is a version from 2001 in my XP ! So far I did not had the time to test it but I thought I let you know because it seem to be not in your ServicePack, PC. Maybe with a good reason though .... Seem to cause BOSD ... dammit, Janet
  17. I already mentioned that I use these batches on XP without problems and with the results that I need. If anybody else could just give me a rough guide how a loop would like I could start from there. Thank you.
  18. Thanks Jaclaz, I just overlooked to correct the /K /L-thing back to the original XP-script because I was testing various (parameter-) versions in the hope that one would work on 98SE. Do you maybe know how a loop have to look like for 98SE ? MiKl
  19. Aah, thanks !! Can anybody lead me in the right direction how a Win98se compliant batch would look like ? It is not live saving issue but I would love to do that work without having to go to XP ...
  20. Hi Guys, sorry for bringing up this old thread but I thought that is not necessary to create a new one just for my small problem which may be solved in a few seconds by people with the knowledge !! I have two batch files which I need to run every two months or so but they work only on XP and I just would like to know why they are not working on an 98SE machine ? 1) @echo off for /k %%b in (3000000,1,3030799) do if exist %%b.jpg copy 0001o.jpg %%b.jpg 2) @echo off for /k %%b in (3030800,1,3030999) do copy 0001o.jpg %%b.jpg Any ideas ? Best regards, Mikl
  21. I have 6.00.17.1 from OpenOffice on my system. If you like I can mail it to you.
  22. Hi Joe, if you can/like please try my configuration again but this time do not add the registry fix. I don't have it either. Then at first open the print preview only ... wait a few seconds ... close the preview ... now try to print. Also, in case you have the FF cache on a RAM-disc, try printing with the cache located on harddisc. I also remember that I changed some entries in SeaMonkey's 'about:config'. Since both FF and SM use the same engine I think FF have this also, right ?
  23. Yepp, I have your comdlg32 from 3/21 in the Seamonkey folder and comdlg32 from 3/13 in the KernelEx folder. Only in this combination I have good results when trying to print from Seamonkey 2.0.14. !! Of course, sometimes it chrashes - but overall it is quite reliable.
  24. Unfortunately I can use only these because with everything that came after that, incl. Kext, I was not able at all to print from SeaMonkey !!!
