  1. Provided you know the names of the file(s) to delete, you should find them in ... c:\windows\system32\drivers
  2. Has the printer been "shared"? If so, start the Add Printer wizard and browse to your printer.
  3. Personally I use an NEC 3500, has behaved impeccably so far!
  4. The temperature will vary according to how "hard" the processor is working, but I've known temperatures up to the mid 40s without any harm to the processor.
  5. Microsoft don't recommend that you manually configure ICS, they say that you should use the Wizard.
  6. Active Directory is not part of Win2000 Pro, it is made when you create a Domain on a Server.
  7. That's an easy one, in line 4 you are dividing both sides by ( A - B ) which is zero!!
  8. I would explain Delphi as "Visual Pascal". It is an excellent programming language for developing Windows applications.
  9. Why would you want to disable the built-in Administrator account? In fact, I didn't think it was even possible.
  10. Check out some software called "Advanced Security Administrator", this will do exactly what you are looking for a very reasonable price. http://www.softheap.com/asecagent.html

  12. Will I take Longhorn? I expect so.
  13. Are you connecting using a Router? Maybe the Timeout is set to 2 minutes?
  14. Logout and then login to the computer locally using the Local Administrator account, then logout and try to logon to your domain as usual.
  15. Open "Active Directory Users and Computers", right-click your Domain and select "New>Organizational Unit", give it a name. Create or move some Users into that OU, then right-click the OU and select "Properties". Click on the "Group Policy" tab, click "New", give the policy a name, then change/set any policies you see fit in the "Administrative Templates" section, then OK etc...... Edit: Click "Start>Run", then type "secedit /refreshpolicy user_policy" (without the quotes!) and click OK.
  16. You cannot perform Group Policy on Groups - wierd, but true. You can only use Group Policy on Containers, Organizational Units for example. You can put Groups inside Containers.
  17. In any case, you'll soon have to pay to access your Hotmail via Outlook.
  18. Why would you want to revert back to Home? Pro has everything Home has plus a few extra bits and pieces, some of them rather useful!
  19. Anything mentioned in the Event Viewer logs?
  20. Yes, any Domain you connect to will show in the Logon dialog combobox.
  21. I don't think that you can connect XP Home to a Domain. It's really just for "Home" users, and not for networking purposes. Right-click "My Computer", select "Properties", click on the "Computer Name" tab, click on "Change", select "Domain" and type in the name of the Domain, you will be asked to enter a Username and Password of an Admin account on the Domain.
  22. I don't think you can disable Ctrl-Alt-Del, I think it is "hard-wired" into Windows.
