  1. This site's UA Guide (in Eng if you prefer) already has instructions: http://unattended.msfn.org/unattended.xp/view/web/8/
  2. This is incorrect: It should be: Read and follow the guide/ref.chm carefully.
  3. If there's a discrepancy I'd first try the one in ref.chm. It may work both ways. Also the space before and after the =, you'll find differences in the lists.
  4. Try the accounts dept.
  5. Dual format but if I have to choose one, then blue-ray because my favourite film is out on BR DVD already
  6. Yeah, that was what I was hinting at. The error message is not the same as that for the max. limit connections, so don't just jump to that conclusion. Try to have a logical and systematic approach. Look here right at the bottom: http://www.techbuilder.org/recipes/59200376 If only some clients can't access while some can, then the problem is more likely to be at the client end.
  7. This message looks more like sharing permissions/security policy/account crendential problem than the max. limit.
  8. It's not what he wants. Coming back to what I said earlier, IE updates refused to install when I changed the default prog dir to another partition. I don't know if it'll work keeping it in C. You have to try it out and see.
  9. Looking at this key alone is not sufficient to determine if everything is OK. You need to look at a full startup list to see if there's anything else. If creating another acc doesn't solve it then it's a problem not specific to the user. So either do it the hard way (finding the culprit) or the easy way (repair/sfc/reinstall).
  10. Look: http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=69438&st=0
  11. These c_?????.nl_ files are for languages in the system32 dir. For XP SP2, make sure you use the most updated version of sysprep tool.
  12. Mine has OemSkipEula = Yes and it works. It'd have been better to start a new topic for your query since it's nothing to do with the original topic about repair installation.
  13. Network install doesn't always mean RIS. It can be PC1 (Win98) connecting to PC2 (Win2k or XP distribution folder, not RIS image) to install, in which case \i386\$OEM$ would be appropriate.

    File SAM!

You cannot delete the SAM in XP. I once tried as an experiment to rename the SAM with WinPE and Windows XP will NOT logon. Rename it back and it's fine. (People still living in the past, using Win98 would advise deleting the SAM when you forget the password.)
  15. I think that "minimum" 200MB and "recommended" 60GB spaces are for storing video and music.

    File SAM!

Does "archive" mean "back up" to you?
  17. "Movie" is too vague. You first have to decide what format and what use (streaming? archive? lecture? etc.) otherwise you get loads of suggestions which might be totally irrelevant to your needs.
  18. I'm contemplating switching to Avast from AVG, but the thread mentions conflict with ZA, which I have (the free ed.).
  19. You're seeing duplication of the "preloaded stuff" (they're really just some Windows components) after you change the reg for the default Prog Dir. I've seen this too. They're only remnents of the old folders left behind. Surely it'd be simpler not to change the registry, but when you install new programs, manually point to the new folder. The other side-effect is, after you've changed the default Prog Dir, IE updates refuse to install.

    File SAM!

Presumably English is not your mother tongue (it's not mine either) but it'd help to express yourself clearly as far as possible, otherwise people will have difficulties trying to help you, as was the case in your other post.
  21. My RB has intermittent similar problems in one XP installation and it's certainly not due to space or pressing the Shift key. But I find if you have Norton SW it can mess it up. Search 'recycle bin empty' in Google and you'll see you're not the only one. Look: http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_qr.htm#rb http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?...kb;en-us;168570
  22. This happens with programs that use msi. Either the install path or some other reference in the registry is incorrect or the installed file location on the HD or network has changed. It's a pain when it happens.
  23. Pls look at the existing threads and polls on AV in the Software forum. This is Windows XP forum.
  24. Looking at the graphs, zlclient.exe is the 13th exe to start, way after all the nv stuff. The delay occurs between the 2nd and 3rd exe, the latter being nv svc32.exe. This says nv svc32.exe is not strictly needed and it tries to access the internet. So I'm just wondering, if ZA is primarily to blame, as the exe starts so late (perhaps the ZA services start earlier?), and if ZA is trying to block the nv svc32.exe. TBH, if it's only 20-25s delay, I'll put up with it. Or stop this exe and see.
