  1. TY very much, Todarsey. As I am noob with server stuff, I guess I'll have to do some reading first. Thanks once again for pointing me to the right direction. If someone could post some links to web pages dealing with this stuff in a understandable way, I would appreciate it.
  2. Todarsey, thanks for your reply. I want the new server to take over the roles.
  3. Hi! We have a temp linux machine. Inside it is Small business server 2003 running in VirtualBox. We now have a new server machine with Server 2008 R2. How do we migrate/transfer data/roles/settings to the new Server 2008 R2? I am not a linux guy. What is the least painful way to do it? Or, is there a way to do it at all?
  4. sure you can, afaik atleast. just go ahead and do it.
  5. One thing you can try is to optimize your friend's fd for performance. To do that, go to Device manager, in Disk drives section double click on your flash drive. Then select Policies tab and click on Optimize for performance. That should boost the speed of the fd.
  6. UPDATE: Strange. (Well, maybe not so strange.) With XP SP2 evrything works just fine. SP2 stripped to the bones gives no errors, but SP3 (b5503) just won't work. Can anyone to try the attached last session with XPSP3 b5508? LAST_SESSION.INI
  7. Any suggestions? Anyone?
  8. I'm now almost sure that the problem is produced by nLite. I can't see how removing images and backgounds or music samples or help and support or manual install or some other trivial things can produce the error. Here's the link to the fingerprint reader application. It doesn't require to have the fp sensor installed on machine. http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/license.do?filename=mobiles/p962b_fpr32_12ww.exe
  9. it seems that the error i get is produced by removing anything from these sections: applications multimedia operating system options i'm curious if it's a bug in nlite UPDATE: THis might shed some light on my problem. Test 1: Removed all the languages and keyboard layouts, made iso, tested and it works ok. Test 2: Further removed almost all drivers, made iso ... ok. Test 3: Removed the usual stuff from Hardware support section ... ok. Test 4: Removed the usual stuff from Network section and Services section ... ok. Test 5: Removed Images and Backgrounds and Music Samples from Multimedia section... ERROR Test 6: Removing few apps from Applications section gives error (I kept Images and Backgrounds and Music Samples) Test 7: Removing things from Operating system section gives error

  11. im trying to install fingerprint software on my nlited xp sp3 5503 laptop (lenovo n200) but it (installshield) keeps throwing error 1720, something like script required to run,... cannot be found. the script is named ATSwpDrwFolder something. i tried numerous combination but no joy. if i use only customize, unattend and tweak sections in nlite (latest build), then i can install fingerprint reader no problem. so it must be that some component is required. any help is greatly appreciated.
  12. the easiest way is to use nlite and remove whatever you want.
  13. of course its possible, but youll have to change the location of my docs in at least one os. even better is to make a script or make a reg key to automate the task. i put my docs on a third partition visible to both the operating systems, then i simply change the location of my docs.
  14. hey,sp00f, thanks for the reply, but that win aik thing is huge to dl. anything else?
  15. ok, i see it can be done with vista, too. now,, can wim image be mounted on xp partition? which tool to use?
