I can not open pdf files in the latest version 2.5.198 of the PDF XChangeViewer. Following error message appears:

What about KernelEx-enabled 'notepad'? Does that now print? If so, then you've got your printer driver working with KernelEx and now need to figure out what is happening with PDF XChange Viewer specifically. Try the 'wintop' trick with that, and see if there's anything else being invoked that you may want to try KernelEx-disabling. Joe. 1. Of course, I can print from notepad with KernelEX enabled. That never was a problem for me. 2. PDF XChange Viewer: Wintop doesn't help. There isn't anything else invoked after I click print. Error message:

Hallo jds, now I've tried it. But I still can't print from PDF XChange Viewer. Three programs shows up in wintop or ProcessExplorer during printing from notepad (comp.mode Win2000): LXBUPSWX.EXE, LXBUJSWX.EXE, LXBUCOMS.EXE (I had set KernelEX comp.mode of them to disabled) The printer is a Lexmark P6250.

I successfully tested on two machines the Windows Media Player plugin with different versions of Opera (10.1/10.63/11.1/11.50 and 11.51)here: http://www.vdat.com/techsupport/windowstest.asp But on the right a part of the loudness controller is missing. Where did you check? And on one machine all the tests fail. On this one the WMP is upgraded with mdgx unofficial 98MP10. OS: Win ME

Yes, I can confirm that too. I just downloaded PDF-XChange Viewer 2.5.197 portable and it works (opens PDFs) in KEx 4.5.1 Default Compatibility mode. Have either of you tried printing a doc? I seem to remember that was an issue in previous versions of PDF and KEx, and I don't have a printer to test with. I can't print. I' ve tested it on two machines.

I added a help page to the Wiki. "Create a new page". KernelEX Help page

It isn't possible to run version 5.0 (tried to run like 4.56). There are a lot of changes between version 4.56 and the new version 5.0. I get error messages: "Error Starting Program The SUPERANTISPYWARE.EXE file is linked to missing export SECUR32.dll:GetUserNameExW." and "A device attached to the system is not functioning."

Now I've run many scans (Quick and Complete Scans) on four Win ME machines. There was one crash and all others finished successfully. I tested with versions 4.37, 4.43 and 4.56. Note: High CPU usage of SAS during scan: 40 - 99% If you like to try or use version 4.56 make sure, that you have copied all 23 files in your program folder and run SUPERAntiSpyware.exe in comp. mode XP. The start up time on my systems is very different. Systems: Between 1GB and 1,8GB System Memory / CPU: Intel P4 630 and 640; Celeron 440; P4 Northwood 2,6 GHz Win ME; KernelEX 4.51; RP9.72

I was writing this Post with Aurora 6.0. It runs as good as 5.0 for me with the known issues. Thanks -
Simply installing vc_red.msi (MS VC++ 2010 red) doesn't help.

Seem there's no way to install new Java 1.7.0!? The silent install fails and the msi file isn't unpacked to the Sun profiles folder. ... missing Export-Kernel32.dll:InterlockedPOPEntrySList. I successfully have unpacked the msi file on Win XP. It is possible to run it on Win ME, but there are some errors: Java Setup Error 26011.Unpacking rt failed and others Java 1.7 doesn't work. New requirement: msvcr100.dll (Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Red) My System: Win ME, KernelEX 4.5.1, MS VC++ 2005 and 2008 red

I've tested the PDF-XChange Viewer new version 2.5.197 (08.07.2011) successfully and I added it to KerneEX Wiki. http://kernelex.sourceforge.net/wiki/Category:Compatible_applications

I managed to get 4.37.0.1000 to work on 98 with your instructions, but can I ask, how do I know for sure if it is scanning the Firefox cookies? Version 4.37.0.1000 doesn't scans Firefox Cookies. See changelog. I told you in post 12 of this topic. http://www.msfn.org/...post__p__948321 I successfully tested the firefox cookie scan with version 4.43 and 4.56. Oh, I forgot to mention that the right click command for SAS only works when the program is loaded ... That's normal! This can be annoying in that it takes a good 5 mins or more for the SAS to start up again. Yes, I told that the start up time is very different on my test systems. ...but the unfortunate thing is when the scan is performed the program automatically closes. I can't confirm this, but I will make more scans to check, whether it is possible.

I've added SUPERAntiSpyware to KernelEX Wiki. http://kernelex.sourceforge.net/wiki/Category:Compatible_applications

Install Error?? I don't have this massege. Do you run the setup once more? Try only to copy back after restart the 23 (unpacked) files to the SUPERAntiSpyware folder and start one of these .exe files in XP comp. mode: RUNSAS.EXE or SUPERAntiSpyware.exe The setup only runs up to version 4.37 in comp. mode XP. I didn't really tested Version 5.

Make a new folder in the program files and name it SUPERAntiSpyware (C:\Program Files\SUPERAntiSpyware).

AVG 7.5 Since two weeks the update (offline) of the AVG Virus Definitions is faulty. The definitions file incavi.avm remains in the install.1 folder (C:\WINDOWS\All Users\Application Data\Grisoft\Avg7Data\avg7upd\install.1). I must copy it in the AVG program folder. Restart required

One more issue: The additional Repair Tool doesn't work. I suppose that the SASREPAIRS.STG file isn't loaded. Which version of SuperAntiSpyware for Windows 98 using KernelEx? All versions higher 4,24 or 4.27 need KernelEX to run. Now a new Version 5.0 is released.

I confirm, that bookmarks can't be stored and imported. Of course after the installation, the other Firefox versions lose their bookmarks. All versions use the same "profiles" folder. Fortunately Firefox have backups of the Bookmarks. -
I easy have made my own setup SAS 4.56 with InnoSetup.

How to install SuperAntispyware latest version 4.56.0.1000: KernelEX 4.5.1 WinME I deleted all my SAS program files in my Win ME SAS folder (C:\Program Files\SUPERAntiSpyware) and after that I copied the new SAS 4.56 files of a Win XP installation to my Win ME SAS folder. Now change the comp. mode of SUPERAntiSpyware.exe to XP. It seems to work fine with the known issues that folderselection for custom scan doesn't work and that SAS can dependent to the system take a few seconds or several minutes to load. It needs 140MB RAM to load and after a definitions update more than 400 MB. BTW it scans and detects Firefox cookies. If you don't have a XP installation, you can install version 4.43. 1. Run the setup till the error message appears (Install Error: File copy error, aborting installation.) 2. Before you click OK , you must copy the new SAS progam files (C:\Program Files\SUPERAntiSpyware) and save them to another folder. 3. Restart 4. Copy the files back into the empty SAS folder. 5. Change the comp. mode of SUPERAntiSpyware.exe to XP (start can take several minutes) The setup of version 4.37 runs in comp. mode 2K or XP without error.

KernelEx Apps Compatibility List (New)
schwups replied to xrayer's topic in Windows 9x Member Projects
I second that. What is wrong with the current wiki? The main problem I see, is that KernelEx Wiki has no help. The help page is empty. Especially there is no help to create new pages or to modify existing pages. This makes the approach more difficult. IMHO KEXWiki is fundamental very good! -

The first look is very good and the menu fonts doesn't be strange, but I can't import any bookmarks from other browsers. System: WinME, KernelEX 4.5.1, RP 9.72, MS VC++ 2005/2008 red -
Put Foxit in Win2K compatibility mode and you'll have readable bookmarks. Thanks - The bookmarks are readable.

The installation isn't a problem for me. There are no error messages. Foxit 4.3.1: default mode Foxit 5.0.1: comp mode WinXP
