I use "my event viewer" from nirsoft (free) its instant fast windows one sucks too much

I managed to find reg entry that enables that context menu back and indeed gadgets start to work then and sidebar.exe appears in task manager but again if i try to run it alone it wont start

after I upgraded PC specs, I had problems with XP, but I was a die hard user of XP made my custom installs exact the way I wanted with 7 I couldn't do so much except making it little lighter but overall 7 aint that bad if you remove some things like IE, WMP, .net 3.5 (too bad 2 cant be removed), useless indexing service, tweak WinSxS to minimum but on piece of crap like vista and 8 i wouldn't go dead

in RTM it worked as above said, no gui option in msconfig don't see why wouldn't it work with SP1 and 2 too

nothing happens does this thing maybe need .net 3.5 to run ? (tho I'm not getting any error messages) regarding dependency walker it reports ieshims.dll that file cannot be found but i have it, even copied it to sidebar folder tho I do have IE feature "uninstalled" via programs and features

since i used rt7lite to customize my win7 install seems I removed sidebar support as well now I opened original install.wim and extracted back "sidebar" folder into program files and registered back with regsvr32 both sbdrop.dll and wlsrvc.dll but I can't run sidebar.exe itself it won't start at all any cure ?

1. yes i have disk cleanup, the cleaning restore points didn't help 2. i tried with full permitions and all that, nothing happens think ill try via ERD commander then they don't take much space but are annoying to have something so old and useless

i have about 10 "folders" on my 2nd partition named like "_restore{38E91C9A-E678-4BD6-97F6-7A758759477C}" under D:\System Volume Information some date even from my years of using WinME (2003) some from XP (2007) and I see them using Everything searcher but I can't remove them I do have disabled sys restore all together on both partitions when I go to "explore" them via CMD, it reports "path not found" Unlocker can't remove them (even if they have no handle) I can't enter D:\System Volume Information via cmd as access is denied, thus any attrib can't be removed so what should I do ? is booting via PE only choice to remove them ?

or use ViPad from lee soft (free) beats the hell out of win8 metro

its quite irrelevant to me if my win will boot in 7 or 15 secs its the time it takes me to turn on monitor and sit down on chair I'd say speed goes to 7 coz 8 UI sucks too much for any normal use

don't think you can metro is now merged with explorer.exe afaik alpha versions up to DP had this inside shsxs.dll

I avoid .net like a disease on XP you still have choice not to have any of versions to be resident anything above xp/server 03 requires .net 2 and cannot be removed
