Poll and Discuss Defragmentation Software
vinifera replied to DigeratiPrime's topic in Software Hangout
well that is also impossible, at least on NTFS systems as they suck when something needs to be reallocated I was implying "real versus MS results" and I'll take any 3rd party app solution over what MS imposes as "truth" or their "model for..." whatever crap -

so you like approach of: if MS doesn't think something is fragmented then disk isn't fragmented at all -

that one is terrible -
have in mind that Office 2003 had inbuilt tracking software that reported MS exactly what was user clicking on (tool/menu) and what buttons on keyboard were pressed (as in ctrl+v or del or shift etc etc ....) might be some strayed component if you say its from 2005

Win XP past Apr 2014... (was: Will XP be supported until 2019?)
vinifera replied to steveothehighlander's topic in Windows XP
actually you could do following, but isn't quite legal yet also not illegal either find yourself Longhorn (Vista) reset build, the client version 5.2.3790.1232 this is XP since it is client version of Server 2003 SP1 RC its EULA makes it illegal, but its out of ANY support makes it legal - by logic it should accept any Server 2003 SP and hotfixes since its kernel is 5.2 (remember this one is 32bit) and is still XP so stiff Servers '03 SP2 init and all hotfixes (or try slipstream) and there you go -
thats why I fake output browser string, as I'm using Opera 11 some sites block it coz it is "outdated" yet it isn't so my fake output string is Firefox 25, then when I reload the page they let me in, or in case like this the annoying warning goes away

What makes Office 2003 better than 97?
vinifera replied to pointertovoid's topic in Microsoft Office
I used to like 2003 but that was only when I was more enhusiastic (or whatever its spelled) but now I like 2007/2010 more for simple reason which is same reason why ribbon was made: I'm too lazy to digg through bunch of either hidden tools/toolbars to find some simple thing and/or the UI is mess then I realised I only liked 97 like UI coz I started in school on it, and naturally xp - 2003 followed but as said UI sucks big time and even if user can set toolbars to his liking and make it somewhat complete set of needed tools in 2 rows (well maybe now on wide screen it would be 1 row) I just cannot be arsed to set it all up, so its easier to simply go with mouse through tabbed UI and click things the only thing that annoys me on 2007/2010 is stupid positioning of File menu and Save/undo buttons - that is so retarded oh yes and the gigantic size (install) is also retarded -
wow ! this was fantastic work, thanks alot it did the job !

you won't see aero anymore it clashes with their Metro vision, if anything they will progress everything to full screen app I wouldn't surprise that Explorer becomes like that Skydrive manager metro crap
-
well since safe mode loads rudimentary/basic display driver you could boot up some PE and replace it from original untouched XP ISO and try again

What for? I'd recon either to screw someone at home or to install unsupported software OP: problem is that most programs check version via Kernel and not registry, so cheating is a no go
-

is microsoft going to bring out windows 9
vinifera replied to krt47's topic in Microsoft Beta Discussion
Why is this automatically assumed that an OS will be outdated in 3 to 4 years? for the same purpose why cpu's, gpu's and other s*** gets out of support after 2-3 years a capitalism new OS = new software, ditch old OS, automaticaly forces user to buy new OS for new version of software, new drivers hence new hardware etc etc... money money money -
its not about rebellion, OS just runs fine as it is so no problem there except those fonts MagicAndre1981, thanks for link

is microsoft going to bring out windows 9
vinifera replied to krt47's topic in Microsoft Beta Discussion
there will be win9 and 10 and so on otherwise they'd lose their revenue as these minor .1 .2 updates are free not to mention that you can't forever upgrade same OS, winblows 8 will be outdated in 3-4 years
