for passwords taht i don't want anyone to be able to crack i use combinations of the !@#$ with A-Z and a-z with numbers and the alt+### combinations... my password for windows was: *just changed it about 3 weeks ago* PħĩĻ48615312$h!t *i dunno if taht even fit, but that was what my password was. not super super good, but that would still take a building full of computers at least 50 years to crack lol *probably way longer then that but i don't feel liek looking it up lol*

How secure is 128 bit Wep with MAC Filtering
Synapse replied to baggers02's topic in Networks and the Internet
first of all i would like too say i would vote twice if i could... 1 for the first option and 1 for the last option. I feel secure that our home network is fine as most people won't ever get that desperate. secondly.. I would NEVER use wireless. I love having 100 mbps connection and not have to worry about a bunch of settings like WEP and so on. and if anyone is "sniffing" the wireless *dunno if they can do that...* Security is my main concern in both wired and wireless networks. -
first off i would've put this under "Networks, Internet and Security" secondly.. that seems VERY odd.. first off though i would try going to a DoS command prompt and type ipconfig /displaydns see if anything about the site is in there. (if so could you post it here just curious ) then i would do ipconfig /flushdns *edit* hmm.. just read your post a second time lol nevermind about this.. but it may still help.. lol you say you have a 5 port hub or do you mean router? anyways.. can any of the other computers view that site? another thing... you say you can't go to the site until the following sunday.. have you tried deleteing your cookies once the laptop is plugged in? i don't see why this would make a diffrence but just tossing ideas out there.

How would it be registered to his friend if MCT used his own key? Personally I feel that if you bought a license and have your own legal product key, it makes absolutely no difference whose CD you install from. If your hardware has not changed you can back up the wpa.dll file from your system and restore it later. I think what MCT ment was if Nero or some other program was gonna be installed and the serial number is entered then yes that WOULD be illegal. however.. I don't think anyone would have a problem if you used your own CD-Key for windows and his unattended CD so long as nothing like Nero is being registered. I made a Unattended CD that i didn't specify the CD-Key so it asks for that, and put a lot of my favorite Freeware Tools that no one at my house can live without.. Spybot, Ad-Aware SE, etc... i don't think microsoft would have a problem with this as i'm using 4 diffrent CD-Keys for 4 diffrent computers. which is what i think he is really askin about. correct?

ok.. i got this photobucket account and i can see 1 of the pictures in there but i have more then 1 photo on there.. i had around 100 photos.. well problem is i forgot the password too the the account and the email address i used too sign up with has the same password. well when i made this yahoo email account i used false information just too make the account.. so i cant hit reset password on that too... hope that made sence... well... does anyone know of some program that could let me get the names of the photos in my photobucket account so that i can change the last part of the address and save each file...i already tried taking the address and take out the name of the photo... example.. www.photobucket.com/myusername but that didn't work... sure hope thats possible.. thanks

as an Ex-StarwarsGalaxies customer.... i say... DON'T PLAY STARWARS GALAXIES!] it was full of bugs, some of the bugs from when i first started playin it in December are still there... the Customer Support sucks and people exploit all over the place... want proof that this game sucks.. go visit the swg galaxy forums and see what the people are talkin about.. most of the posts are about people quiting.. and the other ones are about people complaining about soemthing called the "combat revamp" that was supposed too be released back in Feburary.. but still hasn't been released.. The Game isn't even that interesting.. after you know what your doing you can master most of the proffessions in a 1-3 days... also... there are some "spawns" that only spawn once per day... well guess what.. when the server goes down everynight for maintnance.. there are people that logon as soon as they can just too kill these things... some of the other things that are good kills spawn once every 2 hours.. and most of the time its crap loot. There are weak people outside of one of the main citys called meatlumps.. they can sometimes drop better then most things in the game.. and they only take 1 hit too kill... so in my opinion... DON'T PLAY SWG.. you'll have more fun watchin paint dry...

how can I make a message pop up upon logon?
Synapse replied to Professor Frink's topic in Unattended Windows 2000/XP/2003
ok... hopefully this works correctly lol. its workin fine on my computer. in your theme batch file at the end put PopUp /OK /II /T:Logoff /M:"Windows must now be logged off for the theme changes to take effect. Press OK to Logoff" shutdown -l change the text too whatever you want if you want... now download the program "popup" posted here by ravashaak: Download put popup.exe in the same folder as your themes batchfile. hopefully that was simple lol. when the batch file is ran it will execute popup with the message with an ok button. when the ok button is pressed or if the "X" close button is pressed the user will be logged out. that should do it -

Synapse replied to Professor Frink's topic in Unattended Windows 2000/XP/2003
bah... what he said.... but if it was me i would still go with the shutdown.exe method as this would force the user too log of. and you can also set the time and message in it too say something like "Windows must now logout for the visual styles too take effect" and after 30 seconds have it log off.... *EDIT* hmm.. maybe i was wrong.. after many attempts too make the shutdown.exe show a message before shutting down it doesn't.... it just logs out.. and can't set the time either..... *if anyone wants too check this maybe i got something wrong...* shutdown.exe -l -t 120 -c "Windows is about too log off." -l = Logoff -t = Time too show message -c = Message *just tried -L also.. and it does the same thing... hmmm.....* *off-topic...* nice signature ravashaak -

not sure about this, but can you put in the Runonce in the registry to do the rundll32 command line for log off... other then that i dunno... *edit* err wait... that would log off as soon as it was ran... so once it logs in it logs back out and wouldn't run the visual styles and all that... *second edit* lol, what if you do a shutdown.exe from the end of the batchfile that you are using too apply the visual styles? -

Wireless Network Problem: Can't connect to net
Synapse replied to sickmadvicious's topic in Networks and the Internet
i think what hes meaning is this router:Linksys WRT54G if this is the case i'm guessing you have a modem and a wireless router... the renewing/releasing IP address problem is tellin me that it can't connect too the router... from the desktop PC access the router and make sure the DHCP is enabled and also take notes on what the configuration of the router is for the wireless settings. now with the drivers and everything installed for the notebook comp, make sure the settings match EXACTLY and make sure Obtain IP address automatically is checked in the TCP/IP settings. now restart the notebook run the software and try too connect. now... if you have 2 wireless routers, you wanna disable DHCP on the last router and DO NOT plug it into the "WAN" slot. reason for this is cause then the router things that the first router is the internet. then make sure the settings are correct for the second router and it should work. why you would want 2 wireless routers is beyond me... -
have you tried connecting a computer straight into the router using ethernet cable too check if its a wireless problem or a router problem? other signals shouldn't effect your connection since theres multiple channels... if the computer tied too your router doesn't get screwed up, try changing the channel in your router and on all your client computers. if the computer tied too the router is disconnecing also, try going from the modem too the computer. if it still has problems its probably your ISP. *i'm having that problem now.. i lose internet about 5 times a day* off topic... but try too make sure your wireless connetion is secure.. my wireless network has SSID broadcast off, WEP enabled with 128bit encryption, and MAC address filter on. so its about 95% secure.

never know with these current day hackers lol, i've heard of people losing everything cause of identity theft... well.. 200K may be pushin it as most banks would see that and make 100% sure it was the actual person. and most banks only allow around a 300 dollar withdrawl per day... well around here that is.. i'm the super paranoid kind of person, even if its a transaction for 100 dollars or more.. or if i knew that i was gonna be doing lots of internet shoping.. i'd make another account and only put like 1000 dollar limit on it.
