Integration of Intel's SATA AHCI and RAID drivers
Sp0iLedBrAt replied to Fernando 1's topic in nLite
No, it shouldn't. Use the CD and Fernando's modified drivers and you will be fine (maybe even more than fine ) -
Thumbs up I have come across the link, and am rediscovering that I have suffered over a half of the stuff described there. I also enjoyed the other links at the bottom.

You ask 'em, you answer 'em It was just curiosity. BTW, jaclaz, I tried the download link you provided and it does work as well. Regards

MAC ADDRESS
Sp0iLedBrAt replied to titishor's topic in Programming (C++, Delphi, VB/VBS, CMD/batch, etc.)
It did quit, even though the text file was in the same folder as the script file. So, you're saying it's much simpler to call the script file itself. OK, thanks, I'll see how possible it is to call it through the RunOnce section in nLite or cmdlines.txt<br><br>Edit: I may have done even better. I found some of those .vbs to .exe converters that allowed me to include the text file as well. I'll report on the result.<br> -
MAC ADDRESS
Sp0iLedBrAt replied to titishor's topic in Programming (C++, Delphi, VB/VBS, CMD/batch, etc.)
My thanks to both of you for your efforts. @ Yzöwl: I did not make any intentional changes, but it occurred to me that copying/pasting code from this forum not always works best. Anyway, I didn't make any changes to the MAC addresses either. The two you have put serve well since the VM has a different one, and I wanted a test where I WOULD actually see the deletion process. I don't really want to put something like this on a live CD Cheers -

I must admit a topic like this caught my full attention and I've followed it carefully these past days. Curiosity did its share and I decided to try it. Test 1. post #28 by CoffeeFiend didn't work from RunOnce; I called it through wscript like this: wscript %systemroot%\deletesystem32.vbs //B //T:30 . That's because I noticed it used wscript and it is enabled by default, as opposed to cscript. I also had deletesystem32.vbs and macs.txt copied to C:\WINDOWS through %source%$OEM$\$$\ successfully. If I'm not supposed to change locations for the .vbs file, what is the default location? The root of the CD? System32? Test 2. post #32 Yzöwl's script didn't work. I assumed it was a batch file. Tried it with .bat and .cmd through RunOnce and from the VM desktop. I checked if WMIC was present through Command prompt and got wmic:root\cli> , which is OK by my guess. What am I doing wrong? -
Very much true unisev. Virtual machines obviously do not have the same hardware as your PC, but are an excellent way of testing the actual install process, the RunOnce process (if there is one), the unattended process and the possible bugs or errors, and a great way to prevent them from arising in your live install. As to rewritable media, I'm not really sure, as I haven't used one, and I can't say whether a RW CD/DVD becoming bootable and its closing (not using it for burning anymore) are related. Wait around for an answer from somebody else. All the best,
-
You don't have to burn CDs/DVDs to test installs; make an ISO with nLite and test it on a virtual machine. You will find VMWare, VirtualBox and/or VirtualPC will do the trick. As to burning your setup to a DVD, sure you can do it. I put my XP install on a DVD with loads of add-ons and programs to install from RunOnce. The end result is ~4GB.

Remove Microsoft Windows Welcome Setup using Nlite
Sp0iLedBrAt replied to jhmisa's topic in Unattended Windows 2000/XP/2003
http://win-x.co.cc/nliteimages.html pic #15, Skip OOBE. There are some other settings to add to make it fully unattended, so take a look around through the images and the nLite guide here http://www.msfn.org/board/nlite-reference-guide-t143271.html . Welcome to MSFN, and next time try to post in the appropriate forum; for nLite it's here http://www.msfn.org/board/nlite-f89.html -
What's there not to love in nLite? It has made my life much easier. As for the future, I will be looking for a proper 7 customizer for driver and hotfix integration only; my guess is with today's storage options (HDD, SSD etc.) there's no need of slimming down.

Yep, for over 15 years. I own three 6-string acoustic ones.

I accidentally watched it a few days ago (having only seen parts of the Philosopher's Stone before, and not having read any of the books, which, I guess, makes me unbiased). At moments it looked more like a soap opera, with the plot revolving around who would end up with who. Where is the magic I was promised ?

K-lite Mega with Media Player Classic Regular (current hardware does not support Home Cinema). Had the occasional problems with MPC (non-responsiveness, CPU to 100%), but that's been gone for over a year. @nimd4 http://codecs.com/download/XP_Codec_Pack.htm http://codecs.com/download/Vista_Codec_Package.htm

If by "domain" you mean "enterprise", than you should review the EULA; nLite is not for corporate use.

And so I did. Boolean, with false enabled. Edit: After a PC restart and the common practice, it seems to be working. I'll post back if any changes.

If I continue my windows session (from stand-by) without the LAN cable (internet) in, firefox (3.6.3) automatically starts in offline mode. I was looking for a solution to kill offline mode and stumbled across this experimental add-on here https://addons.mozil...fox/addon/13152 , but that's not the problem. The thing is this quote from the page in the link I opened about:config and couldn't find this option. Can you guys find it?

How Many Times Can You Use Nlite On An Xp Installation?
Sp0iLedBrAt replied to chrisoborski's topic in nLite
If it helps, I used "nhelper.exe" as a keyword for search. Do report on your progress. Cheers, -
The general principle is that if something was removed, it is very difficult (or impossible) to bring it back. You could look at this sub-forum http://www.msfn.org/...ams-t66361.html and hope you will find which files you need for what you removed. There have been some successful cases when users have reverted to removed functions, but you could have found that out by using search. Welcome to MSFN MrJinje, you beat me by seconds . rzeljko, by all means attach (not copy/paste) your Last Session.ini to give us a clue what you did, and be more specific on what you want to re-enable.

XP System Holds on to external USB-connected drive
Sp0iLedBrAt replied to websquad's topic in Windows XP
I usually use Unlocker to find that most of the time it's explorer.exe doing the culprit action. -

I have an ASUS laptop with integrated Realtek ALC880 HDA. For some strange reason, I wasn't able to install a driver newer than R2.29 (current is R2.47). To be more specific, the installation would go fine, but after restart I would lose the small speaker icon in the taskbar and there would be no sound, although Sound Manager would report everything was fine. The solution lies in the RtkHDAud.sys driver. I don't know why, but it will not accept a version newer than 5.10.0.5874. So, today I downloaded the latest package (R2.47), replaced RtkHDAud.sys with the older version (before installing) and it works! Thought I would share in case anyone is experiencing the same things. Cheers

I'm sorry to say that, as far as I know, there is no way of reversing the changes nLite has done. Edit: One thing though: if you had an XP ISO, how did you modify the original ISO? Did you overwrite it?
