  1. Why don't you give us an example of patches that don't work for you, so we can solve this quickly?
  2. Updated Malwarebytes' Antimalware to the latest version.
  3. You could also try %SYSTEMROOT% , as well as %SystemDrive%; it should point to the Windows folder. According to this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Environment_variable , \WINDOWS should be used for XP.
  4. Have you tried cd c:\Windows from Command Prompt?
  5. Well, unless you are a developer, you could always add the .NET Framework client (runtime) files instead of the full package. As to the second part, I have a question. I've never actually slipstreamed vcredist_x86.exe . Does nLite do it successfully?
  6. Try this modified one; it's still the same driver, but a bit cleaned and filtered for a higher success rate. It is very important to add it as a textmode (TXT) driver in nLite, not as PnP.
  7. The Media Player Classic (not the Home Cinema version) 6.4.9.1 works on Win95 and up http://download.cnet.com/Media-Player-Classic/3000-2139_4-10518778.html
  8. You can find it in two locations: 1. in the working folder where you copied XP; 2. in Program Files\nLite\Presets Please bear in mind to attach only Last Session.ini, and not Last Session_u.ini, as the latter contains private data, such as your product key, passwords etc.
  9. I happen to have the .reg file which I have used successfully, so here it is. Cheers AMD AHCI.reg
  10. Updated to version 0.7.33 for 32-bit versions.
  11. It is possible it is something you removed with nLite. Why don't you attach Last Session.ini for a quick check? Also, did you check the system requirements for the driver in terms of OS (specific Service Pack) and video card?
  12. If you want everything unattended, except for the page where you enter the key, don't enter any keys in nLite. If you do enter the default key, you will get full unattended installation. If you don't want an unattended installation (to manually enter all answers), then just choose "GUI attended" as a mode and you will get a normal XP install.
  13. Maybe this will help you
  14. There you go; the answer to your problem is in johnhc's post. Get a new copy of XP in your working folder and use Last Session.ini to import your desired settings. Then everything should be fine. What I said about testing in virtual machines (post #2) still applies.Cheers,
  15. What Ponch is saying is that, when you copy XP to your PC and modify it with nLite once, you shouldn't modify it again. You should rather start with a fresh source. As to the product key, please provide more explanation what you want to do with it.
  16. Welcome to MSFN. Look at this page http://win-x.co.cc/nliteimages.html at pic #27. You can see how to disable it.
  17. Can you see for sure that it is turned off, or it just doesn't show up in the taskbar? Is it possible you have done anything to Security Center? Is the "Automatic Updates" service started? Maybe you have done something in the section for tweaking Services?
  18. My suggestion is that you don't really need the $ folders. Instead, you should copy that error in the balloon and do a bit of google searching for real answers.
  19. I was thinking more along the lines of this http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb457096.aspx#ECAA . I know it can be done for Vista and Win7, but I'm not sure which version these keys are for.
  20. Welcome to MSFN. I hope you have tested the install on a virtual machine and haven't gone through the pain of installing on a live PC and discovering it wasn't the way you wanted it. Your Last Session.ini looks very normal and basic, meaning there isn't anything inside that could have gone wrong. I'd advise you to select "Enabled" for Automatic Updates (just in case) and test it in a virtual machine. It may take a few sessions and a few tests, but the end result is always satisfactory. Just use your Last Session.ini on a fresh XP source and you won't have to repeat all the steps again. Another advice would be to try and avoid Desktop as a working folder for add-ons (some users have reported problems). Create a folder like C:\addons and use that one.
  21. Updated to latest version 09/05/2010 Rev.3426 by clsid
  22. OK, thanks MrJinje. Funny thing, I used drag&drop with a trial of WinRAR I had, but it never occurred to me to do the same thing here
  23. Is it just me, or there is someone with a similar problem like this one? When I open a .7z archive with the 7-Zip File Manager and click the "Add" button, I get this: but if I right-click any file and choose to add it to the same archive, there is no problem. If it makes any difference, I always use the LZMA - Ultra compression method. I am using 9.13 Beta, but previously I had the stable 4.65 and it was the same thing.
  24. As far as I know, nLite uses the exact integration method. The source code for nLite is not available anyway. The problem with some hotfixes not wanting to integrate is obviously different. If you are using SVCPACK.inf, are you adding the appropriate switches for every type of hotfix/update? See this for reference http://unattended.msfn.org/unattended.xp/view/web/24/SESSID=59dc82a667f9dc86e6bf89157c7dc3f1/ Please provide more information
