  1. oh, have some mercy on those too lazy (and/or impatient) to guess
  2. That's strange... did you put the $OEM$ folder in the root of the CD (next to I386/AMD64)? You can also try with a batch file and the COPY/XCOPY command, or make an SFX file to execute through a batch file. See here: http://www.computerhope.com/xcopyhlp.htm http://www.computerhope.com/copyhlp.htm
  3. True, but I'm pretty sure it means, for e.g. if you're not sure if it's Intel ICH8 or ICH9, but you have to be sure it's Intel, otherwise you get a 0x7B BSOD. Now, I really want to know how you manage to integrate several different SATA drivers with nLite and don't get any problems. One of the problems that should arise is that every set of SATA drivers has a specific txtsetup.oem file, which contains data pertinent to the specific driver. When integrating different drivers, my logic tells me that one txtsetup.oem file will overwrite the other.
  4. You could place the URL shortcut in $OEM$\$Docs\All Users\Desktop in the CD and it will be copied automatically to all users of that PC.
  5. It doesn't and won't work, not this way. You should only integrate one SATA driver with nLite, usually the one you need for you PC. If you want a CD with more than one SATA driver, use DriverPacks or look at the Device Drivers forum http://www.msfn.org/board/device-drivers-f88.html
  6. You could try nLite, but it will still be tricky for nVidia. I'm guessing you will have to find some kind of modded driver without the control panel. It's likely that references to the control panel are written in the .inf file(s). As for ATI, it's very easy, because you can download an individual driver package without CCC from their website. See this http://game.amd.com/us-en/drivers_catalyst.aspx?p=xp/integratedip-xp
  7. hey there again, johnhc. I can confirm that I've actually read more than one post where this issue was handled. I'm only sorry the search function on the forums isn't at the present as good as the old one, so I could look them up. For some reason unclear to me (and yet, it is the conclusion), nLite seems to include everything present in the Desktop folder, thus generating ridiculously large images (in some cases, over 16GB). So, this is making me think: although nLite is still a tool of great interest for plenty of people over the web and attracts many new members (this was my case as well), would it be too big of a project to create a sticky with a few things put down concerning the things we repeat most often, like attaching Last Session.ini, using fresh XP source every time, testing with a VM... you know, our experiences. It's like g-force put it: "...still fighting the same old battle..." All the best,
  8. Try not to use Desktop as a working folder. The problem is given in your posted image. I'd also ask you to report on the end result of the XP setup, as it seems you aren't building it in an XP environment, which is also not recommended.

    BDA

According to Wikipedia, BDA is a part of Windows Driver Model (WDM) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows_Driver_Model , so it's possible you have removed something. Follow johnhc's advice and attach the Last Session.ini
  10. Welcome to MSFN. Try reinstalling the audio driver, or use an older one that you know works for sure.
  11. allen2 has a good point, but let me ask: did you make an unattended installation with automated partition or you made your own partitions? Have you tried some software that will recreate the partitions? A backup of your files is recommended in any case. Edit: in future posts please (according to forum rules) state your problem in the topic title so that you attract appropriate attention.
  12. @ChillTownNJ Just one more question: I see you are using nLite; why not download a tested add-on? I'm sure you will find an AIO (All-In-One) .NET such as the one you're trying to create, either here or at Ryan's. I know I have linked other people to it plenty of times.
  13. @ChillTownNJ TARGETOS=XP <---- do you have this setting in your _SNMsynth.ini? Have you tried leaving it empty?

  15. No, there isn't. nLite is meant for personal use only. Edit: Please do not double-post
  16. I had a laptop that had ATI drivers and needed .NET 2.0 and the problem was I had to restart the computer to get .NET running (so the driver would install). I solved it by adding a .NET 2.0 add-on at t-13 (there is a restart at the end of setup) and installing the Catalyst Software Suite at RunOnce with the /k switch.
  17. Well, yes, but not if you install them through nLite. Drivers and hotfixes are integrated in different places in nLite and installed at different times during XP setup. You could tell us the exact drivers and more on why you would want to install them at different times. Maybe RunOnce(Ex) in combination with nLite could do it for you, but without more information... Welcome to MSFN
  18. I have the exact UPX version. As for the archives, I have WinRAR trial and 7-Zip at the moment, but it's set to WinRAR, so that's in no way a problem. At this point (nothing working after anything, which is really strange) I would suggest you post your problem to the Silent .NET Maker topic http://www.msfn.org/...8-w2kxp2k3-x86/ Feel free to post the link to this topic and let's hope they will notice what I'm missing. Congrats on your perseverance.
  19. All your guesses from post #13 are correct. I took a look at the attachment and it seems fine. Now, here's a screenshot how I prepare an add-on for .NET 2.0 SP2. So, just stack everything in one folder, setup _SNMsynth.ini and double-click _SNMsynth.cmd. That should be all. No need to run it through Command Prompt. Also, check again if all the file names of the updates are the original ones. I just realized I have upx.exe (for compression), and you don't. I don't remember if it was included in the latter versions of the Silent .NET Maker, I had to download it by myself.
  20. If , then it should be OK
  21. If you want to integrate everything in one and it's not working, download it here: http://www.ryanvm.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=8236&highlight=net http://www.ryanvm.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=8183&highlight=net They were made with the same tool.
  22. Yes, that was exactly what it said. I clicked the link they provided, and it included entering info such as a valid serial etc. If his software is not legally purchased, I doubt he will get any help here either. This is kind of getting off-topic now.
  23. Of course it didn't work, the .ini file was made for .NET 3.5 SP1 ONLY, and you included just about everything inside Here's another one for you to try; open it, look at it and compare with the other. You'll understand what it's all about
