I have a list of apps to install. Advice needed
Sp0iLedBrAt replied to clivebuckwheat's topic in Application Installs
The most common reason for that is that the first program launches other processes during install which do not respect the /wait switch. You could put that process last in line, or give us examples of the programs you are trying to install, or maybe look into SLEEP and PAUSE commands. Cheers -
How about now? http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?FamilyID=696dd665-9f76-4177-a811-39c26d3b3b34

It's this line here I've never tried a DirectX add-on, but my method works as well: extract it, delete the x64 CAB files and put it in a folder in $OEM$. Run setup.exe from GUI RunOnce with the /SILENT switch from the XP CD. Hope that helps

Win7 SP1 slipstream option does not exist
Sp0iLedBrAt replied to cess's topic in Unattended Windows 7/Server 2008R2
AFAIK, you need to have Beta build 2.5.0, which includes the option to slipstream service packs. -
I believe he is asking the question because of this It may also have something to do with the fact that my OS is added to the web link (http://explore.live....e-mesh?os=winxp)

Noted. I'll do them one at a time and report back. Edit: It has failed for every individual (Non-Microsoft) driver installed. Some drivers are in the NLDRV folder from nLite, but they have also been identified and offered for backup thanks to the .inf files. One driver that was not recognized was for the web cam. Cheers

Same here with DriverBackup2183.exe. mscomctl.ocx (v.6.1.97.86) is present in WINDOWS\system32 and registered. No problems with driverbackup79.exe, though.

Welcome to MSFN. If you search here http://www.msfn.org/board/forum/80-application-installs/ , and especially here http://www.msfn.org/board/topic/12657-application-switches-contributions-only/ , you will be able to find the switches needed to install your programs silently. Cheers

What features would you like to see in GMail?
Sp0iLedBrAt replied to Geyelord879's topic in General Discussion
@Kelsenellenelvian You mean without actually showing in Inbox with a label? I'd like my GMail account to start WORKING! The only thing I can do is open and read an e-mail. I'll settle with anything else and agree with any of your ideas -
7200.12 issues are discussed here, especially from the end of the first page

This is interesting. I can't test it, as I slipstreamed IE8 into the nLite CD along with SP3, but I found the link http://support.microsoft.com/kb/950719. Why not try it? Click the Remove button and see what the next step is; will it report an error or will it let you proceed to a next step. Of course, you can always click Cancel Cheers
-
It will show up, but does it have the Remove option? Since what I said is a documented case I read from the MS website. It may take some searching, but I may even find the link. Cheers
-
Already included in SP3. I also use Realtek audio, so I have tested it more than once. Absolutely Edit: If you install IE8 before SP3, then you won't be able to uninstall it from Add/Remove Programs. Just FYI. Cheers

This is what I found from MS in terms of switches http://support.microsoft.com/kb/934307 Cheers

I'm in for darker themes in general.

Check out this sub-forum http://www.msfn.org/...tes-downloader/ If you use search, you will be able to find a list to use with it, or here http://www.windowsupdatesdownloader.com/download.ashx?type=ul&id=140 Cheers

The problem, as you may have noticed, is the order of extraction. UniExtract starts extraction from the NullSoft package and fails. 7-Zip extraction is also present in UniExtract, but it comes later on, and it never gets to that point. What is important, however, is that we gave you a working solution; your report will hopefully be looked into by the developers of UniExtract. Cheers

Uninstalling the Google Talk plugin certainly did the trick for preventing debug.log from appearing. The strange thing was I couldn't find that the plugin was being loaded in the add-ons section. It still hasn't changed anything for Firefox and the non-responsiveness of GMail, though... Thank you Geej

Welcome to MSFN. The typical XP x86 install is about 1.5GB (including some swap file) on the hard disk drive, so it should be OK. I wouldn't hope too much for many other programs, though. Cheers Edit: taking into account the size of your nLited CD, it wouldn't be bad if you posted your Last Session.ini, in case you removed something you shouldn't have (unless you have tested on a virtual machine and verified everything is working).

Download from here http://nliteos.com/download.html (2 versions available). Check/compare the MD5 to see if the previous download was correct. Edit: Also make sure you have .NET Framework 2.0 installed on the PC prior to running nLite. Welcome to MSFN

As far as I'm concerned, being able to go under 10GB for an x86 version is more than enough for me. Yes, I'm aware of that, but it's good to know.My gratitude for your time
