  1. Do not be fooled with what she says, a lot of women do this to get "you back". I´m not a player at all but since I live in a country where blond is popular I have a load of women behind me. You are not f***ed, to be a parent is something beautiful. That the mom is going to make you black with your kid is something else. Leave her, it seems she has a large history with guys and you could be the next "victim". I know she says she is more mature but most people do not change in the aspect of "want to feel free"... I think you missed some text there to read!
  2. I would not worry about those temperatures, but I would worry about the BIOS update; it seems that Jetway cannot proper write their BIOSes. Why did you update it anyway? Was it not working well? If it was working well I would go back a step and try the older BIOS out. Welcome to the forum by the way!
  3. Bunch of weenies any way it seems, why continue spraying why they see it has no effect other than on themselves? They don´t get training to use the force of the person to get him down?
  4. It is always a gamble as 98(SE) isn´t supported any more by the hardware makers. Did you check out this topic? Besides that, it will be hard to find any of the older cards for a good price, most of them have even a higher price than the newer, more powerful cards although I already know you will not use the power of those video cards.
  5. Hartelijk bedankt Martin L, also for the puntoMX.net name parking. I will sure have some although I feel strange after one beer already . Gracias ricktendo64, haber que este año va estar mejor que el año pasado (and that wasn´t bad year) . Una caguama si me gusta, haber como me siento después , gracias Maxfutur. By the way, for the people who do not know it, a “caguama” is a large bottle of beer, 2 liters. Ow you two! I´m not old just was born a while ago; forever young in mind . I´m feeling happy thank you Zxian, still no party but let´s see if there is some “thing “ (read some one) waiting for me when I come home! Same as last year , thank you Tarun. How did you guess what I just ordered? Thank you Mark. Thank you ripken204, always good to have the younger people around so I can feel, ahum, not that long time ago born (Just 34!)Now it´s time to get the piñata out of the closed (and the women of course!) WHOHOOoooOO!.
  6. You can not fix a harddisk yourself, so it´s the end of your HDD. Do NEVER open a harddisk by the way...
  7. Then it seems the drive it self is dead...
  8. They dry out a bit, some people rub them up a bit but it will only work for a short time. They are easy to replace and are cheap. I used those printers for bulk printing (flyers mostly) back in 1997 to 2000 . In new laser printers they have chipset too; some can be reset some need a physical replacement. The Samsung CLP-310/315 that I use have just a reset chip inside the cartridge that tells the printer that a new cartridges is installed, and it can be used only ones. That´s a great printer indeed for B/W. You do not need color?By the way, I´m going with a Linksys 802.11G printerserver .
  9. Looks like the controller chip inside your external drive is damaged (not the HDD drive itself). If the HDD drive would have been damaged it would give you the message that there is no disk entered.
  10. Well, I´m going to change my vote. Ditched the HP Inkjet I had and got myself a few Colour Laser printers from Samsung. Inkjets are just too expensive in maintenance and use way more expensive consumables, think about paper with less wood / recycled paper in it and the very expensive cartridges. Besides that, most of the time the company who produces the products doesn’t give warranty on faulty cartridges (I´m open for information if I´m wrong here). Colour Laser printers have become cheap these days, less then 200USD, and will provide you with 200-300 full-page photos or 1000-1500 pages of text with the directly included cartridges. They also provide way better gradients in color and B/W mode than the 3 year older versions, as they do 600*2400dpi without any problem. Also they use a way smaller footprint today but still weight about 10kg but not even close to the 35kg they were 3 years ago. I would like to say that I´m quit surprises about the overall performance and cost of ownership of the Colour Laser printers .
  11. I would look for a better OCR program, but I can´t help you with it. It´s neither a hardware flaw nor do I think it´s glossy paper. What OCR software are you using and can you give us the model number of the scanner please.
  12. Naaaaa... You would like to take a look at the HD 4830 by then .
  13. That should be no problem at all. If the installation XP CD doesn´t "see" the hard disk you have to turn AHCI off in the BIOS and you are ready to go. The laptop has an Intel chipset and drivers will be not the problem. The biggest fuzz always with laptops is the extra software that comes with it to activate the "extra buttons" and your nightmare will be the wireless drivers. We can help you if you ask .By the way, why ditch Vista and go with XP?
  14. However, before you even think about "upgrading" or installing another CPU, take a look at this wiki page about popped capacitors. If you see any popped capacitors than it´s better to keep the money in your pocket and save it or a new computer...
  15. Off-topic posts removed.
  16. Sure 8GB helps a lot. If Photoshop would be the only program running you would be correct, however if it´s not so than you must be wrong. With 8GB of RAM the system, and I presume D_block goes with 64bit Vista, will use 2GB of that RAM just for the system. Photoshop will use about 3.7GB until it moves to the scratch disk so that would be a total of 5.7GB, leaving about 2.3GB for a RAM drive (for a scratch disk* (edited Sep 21 2008)) or for other apps that would be running while using Photoshop. In fact, video cards have nothing to do with colour reproduction. Yes they do, but you are right that there is almost no influence when using a digital interface. Some video cards have poorly calibrated voltages on the RGB signal, so you could see differences between video cards (Only if Analog). It is true that displaying a program without accelerated video streams (decompressing) or using any DirectX filters should show the same on both ATI and nVidia chipsets, however, this depend on the electronics used around the GPU self and this is before the signal goes to the monitor.
  17. None of them, you would be better of to go with a 780G/790G chipset from AMD on the motherboard. These bundles seem to be made get writ of their old stock...

    KB954156

If you do not need it than leave it as it is, so there is also no use of installing an update for something that is not installed. Just uncheck it in the updates list and check when prompted if windows update needs to ask for that specific update again.
  19. Sapphire has only ATI cards , if possible go with that one. That kept me wondering, what main disk are you referring too? An old HDD? That would take the speed down on your machine! Just use a new one there, they are cheap and can significantly show improvements over an older one, even if it´s "just" a few years old. Stay with SATA only HDDs and if you like you can use the PATA port on the motherboard (as it´s the only one) for a DVD-RW drive.
  20. Just read this topic and see if you can change your mind .
  21. Does your PC boot up normally? Did you open your PC to look inside? It´s easy to do and it´s the first thing I would do. Check that the fans are spinning and not full of dust... A clicking sound would normally lead to the hard disk, so listen closely to it if it comes from there.
  22. Check out these: SAPPHIRE 100244L Radeon HD 4850 512MB ASUS EAH4850/HTDI/512M Radeon HD 4850 That would give you some extra power and quality for your money, besides that, it the last gen of ATI products and would sure blast the 8800GTS away . Also check this topic.
  23. Indeed, I get loads of HP systems here with fried chipsets from nVidia, especially the 6150/430. These systems include laptops and desktop computers, the V3000 and the SR1915. So you got the "not TI" version? That one had a big hardware cursor bug by the way.I got a golden sample from ASUS back in those days, and it was given to me by nVidia on a meeting. I liked it as it was a good step up from the GeForce 2 . Well, the Radeon 9800 had heat problems...
  24. Good it´s solved now, it must have been the resistance of the cable than. Is this COAX or just plain 2 or 3 wired line?
  25. Wow, we have some old-timer here , I bought one in 1997 and loved it with Hexen .I go with ATI too these days, just for their better Vista drivers a while ago. I like my 2600XT as it does the job well without giving me some DLL error from time to time.
