  1. There are some JAVA viruses floating around on the net, try a virusscanner. Also, try Hijack This: http://www.majorgeeks.com/download3155.html Remove any strange enteries, not all!!! If you don´t know what to remove, then post the log file HijackThis is making.
  2. And the last one you’re mentioning is also one of the best, never thought about it till I saw some test by different sites. Speeddisk was cool in the 98-time. Norton, ... can’t say any good word about it, leaving even viruses behind... Poor people who paid for it (home-users)
  3. Okay, I don´t know if I can post it here: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/124504 Take a look here, ScubaPete post is explaining some things what you could do. He´s talking about the ASPI layer, could be taht one. In the past I found more problems with that. Good Luck,
  4. You know not to use SDRAM and DDR together I hope . Did it always work with that 512MB DIMM? If yes, then start to look for a new motherboard of a good brand, like ASUS. I think that the voltages are not 100% of that motherboard. So, let´s say the DIMM needs 2.6V but now it´s giving an unstable 2.6V or even 2.4V for example. Can you see how high the voltage is in your BIOS?
  5. My router could be with an old rev. of the hardware. Some times it´s crashing with P2P software of ARES. Also mu provider isn´t the best one, but hey!, it´s Mexico . Other than that, D-Link is nice for the price, that´s why I bought it . @ cypher_soundz, Cisco is too expensive for "home" use. Try to buy a switch first to connect your computers to that one. Only use one port of the router to connect to that switch (It could help). Try to find a DLink 604. The 704-(U)P has a LPT-printerserver in it if you like that (U for USB). PS. Linksys is also form Cisco... and why not order online? You are part of the USA so there are a lot online shops that will send it to you (newegg for example).
  6. That´s why you have to deinstall it and never use it again .
  7. Your CD burners will have enough with UDMA 2 (33MB/s) (40p cacble), some burners can use UDMA 3 (66MB/s) but then you need a 80p cable.
  8. Thanx, going to change it later... But beleve me... (and I don´t know any thing about computer graphiscs, I´m telling you ) Edit: MPEG-2 was finalized in 1994, so more then 10 years they didn´t have any filters that can make the image look better?
  9. Okay, so... when I take my JPEG image I can´t make it better? Right, did it before... But hey, what do I know about computer graphics . Edit: And MPEG is the same as JPEG, only with motion . @ Jeremy, do I have to come over to Canada? ... Not all people use a computer to play Video. I use my Home-DVD player for that, and I think ripken204 would like that too. Edit: you edited your post...
  10. "It will end up grainy, and blurry, etc." That I doubt . There are some good tools that resample and recalculate the whole image, even if you have a 15 FPS rate you can get it to 25 or 30 with some kind of morphing. ripken204, Look here on www.videohelp.com, there are tools there, for free or you can test them for 30 days.
  11. People say it’s a good game mouse, but I would advice to hold the mouse in your hands, if it feels good I would buy it. Performance is not an issue with this mouse, YOU WILL HAVE A LOT! Also read this: http://www.firingsquad.com/hardware/logite...eview/page1.asp
  12. Why not go for the MX4000, that one is newer and 128bits (most of them). Forget those old 64bit ones
  13. I like to add: - That A347SCSI SCSI CONTROLLER is added by burning software, don´t worry about that. - Also, if you use cable / xDSL then buy a router for the firewall.
  14. Logitech® Cordless Desktop® LX 700 I would say, that one is newer, slimmer and looks/feels better to me . The prices are the same, but that´s only BC of the MX700 mouse (the LX700 uses a cheaper mouse). I don´t know if the MX1000 mouse will use the same frequence / channel as the LX700. I think you have to try that one out...
  15. I use a D-Link too (704-P or something (4 ports)), but that one will crash too with to much download/upload P2P connections. Try to look in the 100-200 US$ range, there are some good routers for heavy use. Also, I would use the router only for the firewall and DHCP server. After that it´s better to use a good switch. Also, if you donwload much, why not buy a dual-LAN router from XiNCOM. That´s the next step for me B).
  16. yes, but like 99% it WILL WORK . so, that´s the most easy way...
  17. 3 Questions first: 1 Release number of Nero. 2 Brand and type of your CD-RW 3 How did you connect your CD-RW After that, we can help you more
  18. I´m happy that´s your mouse and that you found your problem. Also the latest nLite is one of the best Nuhi made. I hope you will keep using it . Happy mousing
  19. Did it help?

    pagefile.sys

Okay, I understand. (Isn´t it a bit late for you, like it´s 02.27h in the morning there )
  21. true, but it's the expensive option Like NORTON is cheap LOL You need to plug in an extra 256MB hehehehehe
  22. Also POSTING here, you can´t doublepost dude... Okay, I think your BIOS can not handle the 160GB harddsik well.
  23. Looks more that you BIOS can´t handle it. I have XP SP2 running on 160GB HDDs.
  24. puntoMX

    pagefile.sys

Wait, when I say swapfile, then it´s the same as pagefile to me . I just say that your virtual mem. will write/read faster from your 80GB drive altrough it´s the same drive as your OS is using, that´s all . It´s just that the 10GB will be slower... but why you don´t test it: You start a big game or so and check the time that it takes to start up. One swapfile on the 10, later on the 80. Ten you tell me what is faster... pleased to hear from you .
  25. Like rechargable can´t go bad. Try to use an other mouse to test that, it´s not that crappy...
