  1. Just install the drivers that are linked here.
  2. Phew, I thought some thing else .
  3. I know, but you wanted to have hardware acc. and the Creative card has that .
  4. You will use it for games, isn´t it? Then take the SB Audigy, that one supports EAX3 .
  5. Read the reviews and you know enough...
  6. This, or this, both good and cheap soundcards .
  7. S939 is dead dude, M2 will be resleased soon, very soon! (1 month or so ) 754 WILL stay longer . In germany the M2 CPUs are already on the pricelists.
  8. Forget those 2.0 cards dude; or use the onboard sound or a SB Live! 24 or better, they are cheap .
  9. @ computerMan; Not if you trow in a SB16 or a CMI sound card . But yes, a Soundblaster Live 24 and up would be better altrough they come as 7.1 .
  10. @- I-, The Opteron is an other price range, talking about almost twice the price of ScubaSteve´s configuration. I would buy a Athlon 64 3000+ (2GHz) and kick it to a sweet 2.6/2.7GHz and spend the money you have left on more RAM and a better VGA card.
  11. I just trow the voltage on 1.55 / 1.6 volts and HTT to 300MHz, HTT devider to 3x or 600MHz (600 with 200 / 900 with 300, normal @ 800 with 200). Just using stock cooling. That would make a Sempron64 2500+ run @ 2100MHz, 2600/2800+ @ 2400MHz, 3000/3100+ @ 2700MHz if the CPU holds it . 2700 would be most likely the max or you need more voltage and indeed a better cooler. EDIT: The 3700+ works on 2.4GHz, You could crank it up like 3GHz with d*mn good cooling but that will be the same for a 3000+. If you tweak it, then buy one of the cheapest models .
  12. "Soundblaster Live 5.1 for game/midi port only" What the... Why would you do that? The onboard sound isn´t half as good as your old SB Live! 5.1 .
  13. pathfinder, Welkom op het MSFN.org forum. Like nitroshift is telling you, just disable the SATA option in the BIOS and XP wil not ask you again to restart. You could also istall your drivers right, download the latest version, and keep it enabled. I saw this problem with more motherboards that had no SATA drives installed.
  14. The ABIT NV8 would be a nice choice. Why do you plan to buy a 3700+?
  15. Far Cry runs great, also DOOM 4 en Quake 3 at 800*600 / 1024*768. HL2 runs here at 1024*768 at high settings. The link I gave you get´s more interesting when it comes to voltmod that motherboard to get 1.55v, you only have to make one bridge with a "conductive-inkt"-pen. . With 1.55v I bet you will get a 200/300MHz more out of your CPU.
  16. When you run a stock speeds you still have the problem? If yes, I bet your card is fried .
  17. Some of my clients messed up the PC, got the same error and replaced the like 250kB DLL with the "old" 4kB one. The printer works again, thanx DigeratiPrime .
  18. Wrong forum, this is Software / Windows XP . Install the sounddrivers, that´s all. Download the drivers from www.hp.com directly. I´m sure you will find the drivers for the modem too there if it came with the PC. Use the CD that came with your webcam to install the webcam. Good Luck
  19. For more information you could look here. I´m sure you will like it .
  20. And now? There are nice fan-bays you could use to control your fans and play with it.
  21. With a budget of !0,00?
  22. Nice card indeed for the price. Always better then the onboard VGA. Why did you buy the motherboard you have now? For over clocking a NV8 from ABIT would be a nice choice. On all CPU´s I got 300MHz HTT with 1.5/1.6volts for the CPU and that with a “room” temperature of 25-28oC .
  23. if you could get RAM that supports 488MHz DDR then your video performance would be better. HL2 runs great indeed on this onboard video . Just used neweg.com again : http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList....SubCategory=147
  24. Yes, that’s correct, but coolers always have vibrations of fans and other environment vibrations. Also edges of the applied thermal past have contact with air so it will dry out always on the edges.
  25. Yup, ASRock is ASUS in many ways . D*mn good products, only the first P4 motherboards they had were a bit picky on RAM and Harddrives... EDIT: PRATHAPML uses it b/c it cheap and runs a few games too . There is also a rev 2.0 of this mobo... "Windows Vista™ Hardware Ready" added
