I would say the power supply is damaged. Also those drives most of the time have 3 year warranty directly, go to the site of the manufacture.

This is what I do, sold my AGP systems and bough mobos with PCI-E, just a few bucks more and I can throw in video cards. The AGP motherboards with the AGP video cards were more expensive then a PCI-E motherboard and PCI-E video card .

I hope that will be in 2D, the 6800 can´t even pull a smooth framerate on 1280x1024 when it comes to the 2005/2006 games. The 7900GT, good choice b/c I don´t see any thing happen soon with DX 10 carts.

It was mend as a joke, . But for real, that 3400 CPU will not be much slower then you have now, throw in a 7600GT for 165 bucks and it will outperform your PC. 3GB helps, I know. I was getting scared that you really were going to by a motherboard with AGP. If you like to OC the ASRock K8NF4G-SATA2, PM me. And, don’t complain if your daughters system is going to be faster then yours .

here you go, for your educational needs, if you can educate a closed minded person. Let me join that person . I’m of to finish my master degree b/c a specialty isn’t good enough . Who cares about the fabrication process, if they (AMD and iNTEL) need a smaller process they will start to use it. A smaller process isn’t necessarily better, it’s just cheaper. For now: 32bit apps get an iNTEL in a month or 2, for 64bit get an AMD.

I was not saying that nVidia is going to "work" for iNTEL, but there will be a new chipset out soon, they only still have the nForce4 SLI, and intel the 975X SLI, both with double 16x PCI-E .

HOLD ON! You are going to trow in a FX 5200? Are you serious? It´s way better to buy a mobo with 6100/6150 chipset dude . it´s faster AND better then the 5200 AND has PCI-E 16x. Think about it!

Jup, a new mobo goes with a new license, but I hear that MicroSoft isn’t so bad and you just need to activate your license again (for free) by calling them. I think the rescue disc will work but I’m not sure of it b/c of the different drivers for the SATA controller. Why not throw in a VGA card? Why you like to change the whole motherboard?

Better to wait untill the 975 iNTEL chipsets come out, also nVidia is starting to make SLI chipsets soon for the "new" processor.

And post some more info like : nForce2 chipset with Soundblaster Live! or something . Next time start with it please...
