  1. http://www.nytimes.com/2006/03/27/technology/27soft.html? See, they know it, we know it. I'd say we're lucky to have a tool like nLite to speed things up.
  2. MagicISO PowerISO WinISO UltraISO <the best one I've seen...
  3. *No longer available*
  4. You're either not logged in as Admin or the permission on SOFTWARE is not checked off. Do that and the problem will be fixed.
  5. Why don't you just use UltraISO (the best image program IMHO) and convert it to an ISO file than just burn it in Nero as an image?
  6. My co-worker at my workterm placement gave me a copy of the game, but since I prefer FPSers, the game doesn't really appeal to me. Graphics weren't bad but HL2's are better.
  7. Did your joystick come with software?
  8. This is the only post that should be a reply to his question, and a link to the rules. I just hate to see a topic blown out into 10 posts, 1 being an answer, and 9 others being flames against caps, one is enough.
  9. Reinstalling windows to show these entries is not an "easy" solution IMHO What are you talking about? You don't have to reinstall/uninstall anything. You're just editing an .INF file. You're just unhiding things that are hidden by default, essentially the same as unhiding system files and barricaded folders in Folder Options.
  10. No Services he may have disabled would effect Device Manager. C:\WINDOWS\system32\devmgmt.msc = Device Manager If you don't have it, expand it from your XPCD, grab it from a friend. If you used a crappy registry cleaner, then try importing the attached registry file into your own registry and seeing if it fixed it. If you're looking for the best registry cleaner, then JV16 PowerTools is your best bet, imo.
  11. if it's in the root directory of C: then change "E:\I386\joy.cp_" to "C:\joy.cp_" in CMD.
  12. It's a drop, not a mouthful, and you could just brush your teeth or use moothwash.
  13. HAHAHAHAHA!!!!
  14. The file on your XPCD is .cp_. And your CD/DVD-ROM drive letter is E:, so... When you get into the Command Prompt, type "E:" and then use the "expand E:\I386\joy.cp_ C:\WINDOWS\system32\joy.cpl" command.
  15. If you're expanding directly from your CD, you don't need to copy it to your C drive. Forget I mentioned that. is wrong. Follow that exactly. There is a space between "cp_" and "C", incase you don't realize.
  16. You either got delete-happy on your files or used a crappy registry cleaner.
  17. smsniff works great, but doesn't seem to show overall bandwidth per application.
  18. Well, it has the .cp_ file extension so it won't work yet. Take the file and put it on your main C:\ drive in Windows Explorer, so it's not in a folder. Start > Run > cmd Make your way to your XPCD (ie, D:\, E:\, whatever the drive letter is) Now without quotations, type "expand X:\I386\joy.cp_ C:\WINDOWS\system32\joy.cpl" X representing whatever the drive letter is. How's that?
  19. Yes, I use Outpost Firewall, but I want a tool to show how much bandwidth is being used by an application, not just which application is using bandwidth.
  20. Does anyone know of a small program that can be used to Monitor Incoming/Outgoing Traffic?
  21. Wow, thanks. I didn't bother to search because I didn't think anyone had done something like that before. I notice how a lot of filesize is saved because you don't include many .CAB and .MSI files that go with add-on components, but then the filesize is again increased when the normal ones are decompressed as you perform the network installation. Many thanks.
  22. Well, it seems that somehow your joy.cpl got removed. Do you have your XPCD? If so, search it for the file in the I386 folder, copy it to the root of your harddrive, go to Start > Run > cmd Use the CD.. command to make your way to the C root, then type "expand joy.cp_ C:\WINDOWS\system32\joy.cpl I hope this fixes your problem.
  23. I personally use FinalData Enterprise v2.0 to recover files. I even recovered images off my USB stick last night. Also, PerfectDisk is the best defragmenter. You can't really get better than that.
