  1. Just use QuickTime Alternative. Complete QuickTime support without the player. Also, in order to play QuickTime files in Firefox, you just need npqtplugin.dll in Firefox's plugin folder. All I did was download QuickTime Player, compress it's plugins to a 7zip archive, uninstall it and clean out my registry (picky, yes I know) and then do trial and error to see which one is needed. And npqtplugin.dll is the winner.
  2. For future reference, just because the Add/Remove Programs method doesn't work, doesn't mean you're out of luck. Many installers require you execute the same file that is used to install. setup.exe. You can Modify, Repair or Uninstall. Looks like the reformat will have to do it.
  3. Like I said before, I've already removed everything corresponding to VMware through Registry Finder in JV16 PowerTools. Doesn't fix anything. The problem is that JV16 doesn't scan other parts pertaining to Service entries.
  4. My pleasure.
  5. I tried to uninstall VMware once and it didn't work properly so I just deleted all associated files on my HD and what I could find of it in my registry and everytime I have tried to reinstall it, it says a the previous version is still installed and won't try to overwrite it. Anyway, I've found more stuff in the registry but it will appear as if I removed it, but if I go somewhere else in the registry and then go back it, all the entries are back. Here are the places in the registry: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Enum\Root\LEGACY_VMAUTHDSERVICE HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Enum\Root\LEGACY_VMNETBRIDGE HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Enum\Root\LEGACY_VMNETDHCP HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Enum\Root\LEGACY_VMNETUSERIF HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Enum\Root\LEGACY_VMWARE_NAT_SERVICE Same things for ControlSet002 and CurrentControlSet Any ideas how I can fix this? No, I don't feel like reformatting right now. I'd rather not let this issue defeat me and force me to format, I like to workaround things.
  6. Trillian Preferences > Plugins. Uninstall the plugins in accordance to what protocols you use. Speeds the startup process up quite a bit. Looking around in programs helps sometimes.
  7. Uhm, within its Options/Preferences/Whatever, in the General section there's a checkbox for what you're asking. Windows Messager, eh? Ick, to each their own...
  8. I got rid of Windows Help with nLite. If I need Help, I either try to workaround it on my own (which usually results in a successful outcome) or I just come and ask on this forum.
  9. C:\WINDOWS\Installer
  10. Btw, anyone know of an efficient means of clearing the index.dat files? I've read it cannot be done within Windows, only safe mode?
  11. Argh, I posted because even though it isn't free, that doesn't always stop some people from getting/using it. And also because it is a very good program, despite not being free.
  12. It's not Windows... It's just MPC. You think M$ would dare try to make a "lite" program? Get with it. lol Also, to all you posting that you prefer WMP... didn't the guy ask for non-bloated programs?
  13. The best ISO program I've ever used is MagicISO, although it isn't free...
  14. Several months ago. Ready to do it again. Waiting for the next version of nLite to be released before I do so.
  15. PerfectDisk does not have endless features, but about half a dozen very useful ones. It defrags more than most other defraggers do to not only keep your files organized, but speed up your boot time. And it's not really fancy, it's GUI is more like a modern version of the really old Windows 98 defragger.
  16. Uhm, or I could create a reg file that removes entries or entire sections of the reg and import it, therefore effectively removing whatever part of the reg is specified in the reg file. ETE2005 wasn't "erasing" them, it was just removing them. I have already made my own custom reg file and switched from ETE2005 to Eraser 5.7
  17. Been living under a rock? Popular players nowadays are: Media Player Classic <IMHO the best! Zoom Player <A very heavy interface and tooo many options for an average user's liking VideoLan <Pffft.... BSPlayer <It's alright... But don't take my word for it, try them all for yourself to truly determine which one is right for you. But, MPC really is awesome.
  18. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> If only it could do DVD Video, it would be my dream burner. Edit - Hmm, looks like I might be switching soon. Edit - You need 3rd party software just to do DVD Burning with this program... sheesh, I knew it was too good to be true.
  19. DeepBurner's link is invalid. Burnatonce is only for ISOs, eh? I like to burn audio, data and Video.
  20. Raxco PerfectDisk is the best Defragger and they have a PDF file on their homepage proving this. I use it and it is simply awesome.
  21. Yes, PerfectDisk is the best Defragger and they have a PDF file on their homepage proving this.
  22. Are you guys aware that Trillian, as of this point, is at v3.1? I just wonder if you're complaining about an older version of the program... that's all. I just tried out Gaim. Lean interface and nice operations, though 15 MBs of RAM... that's 1.5x as much as Trillian usage... no thanks. So it's a twist between Miranda and Trillian and between the two I prefer stability so the winner is obvious.
