  1. I didn't misunderstand you at all. I know what you're getting at. Newer versions of software possess bugfixes, added features and improved stability. Regardless if a program is free or not, if I like it, I use it to its full extent.
  2. I don't purchase software. I am in no financial circumstance where I could spend money on software. So I have to use other means unmentionable in these forums.
  3. 100% Firefox And I dont have IE on my system, thanks to nLite
  4. Now THAT'S laziness. I'm sorry but it is. I just rest my wrist on the surface of the desk here and move the mouse with my hand. I can't imagine someone playing Counter-Strike for 12 solid hours and using the muscles in their arm to keep their whole hand off the surface. Mine gets tired in like a minute. I just use my fingers.
  5. Just stick with Media Player Classic. Be sure you have v6.4.8.4 too.
  6. Been using it for over a year. Haven't gotten one spyware. Anything that would be discovered a method for spyware invasion would be fixed immediately. I don't think I have anything to worry about for quite some time.
  7. Uhm, no, I don't have any spyware.
  8. I'm satisfied with the software I have and if something I like isn't free, well, I work around that.
  9. You do. Everyone isn't you. It's 30-day trial is why you haven't seen it mentioned, or that it's not recognised enough. Which, again, is likely because of its 30-day trial. File Managers are not supposed to be payware.
  10. So it removed junk, junk and more junk? Wow... That's awesome! Almost as cool as having 0 junk from using Firefox. Or Opera for that matter...
  11. Well, naturally, because it's an enhanced version of the original with years of development under it's belt. I have a 3 GHz CPU and I prefer a stand-alone, straight forward, fast-loading, nearly universally-compatible, and customizable player over some bloated thing like WMP10. Heh, 10 major versions... takes them a while to make a half-decent player, eh?
  12. Sometimes, shareware applications give you that pinch of extra functionality that you need to be satisfied. I've not found a better registry cleaner than JV16 PowerTools' Registry Cleaner combined with RegSupreme Pro. And the GUIs are very straight forward and non-fancy.
  13. 7-Zip compresses better than RAR when set to compress in Ultra Mode.
  14. Ivanov, you'r kidding or what? Windows Explorer has the worse bug I'v ever seen: delete or move a few files and it get so slow that it became unusable. You have to restart your computer. It's total sh*t. Well, not everyone has the same problem as you have. So they wouldn't be kidding. However, I do tend to rebel against M$ in as many ways as I can. I use Xplorer2Lite.
  15. I use CoRoNe's DirectShow Filter Pack with changes made by Fridge-RaideR since neither of us use FFDShow. Beats the crap out of any codec pack out there afaiac'd.

  17. Back when I wanted a NotePad replacement, I used a now rather old version of Win32Pad that didn't have the new installer, just ran. Nowadays i just stick with NotePad. Small, included in Windows and not really much of a bother.
  18. More files on your HD now? Fragmentation? A typo in the new version? Several reasons... don't have an exact solution, other than to check out the issues I've just mentioned.
  19. M2V is a format containing only Video and no audio. It is a standard format with support included in XP. You should be able to play with no hassle in practically any player (WMP, Media Player Classic is what I'd recommend, Zoom Player). Unless you have loads of codec packs installed on your system, you'd run into problems. Search this forum for posts done by CoRoNe and read up on his DirectShow FilterPack. He has made a rather excellent collection of modern versions of filters to replace the old ones included with Windows as well as support for formats you had no idea existed.
  20. Netscape isn't winning me over just because its updated. I'm sticking with Firefox. It gets better everyday and they work so hard to make it the best they can, I know where my loyalities lie.
  21. Uhm, I use Foxit PDF Reader and mine always go in full screen.
  22. XP Home SP2 nLited
  23. Are you ok? Some people would say anyone's crazy to run each seperate messenger for each protocol they use. I certainly wouldn't want to use MSN, ICQ, Yahoo, IRC all seperately. I'd rather combine them easily and save my PC the mess.
  24. Only npqtplugin.dll is required.
