  1. Face it, emus for PS1, XBox, etc.. just won't cut it.
  2. I think 2 GBs will serve you fine, you won't need to pay for 2 extra GBs after that. I mean it's just gonna be your pride of having such a powerful system and I know I'd feel good about telling someone "Hey I have FOUR GIGABYTES of RAM" but in the grand scheme of things, as long as you have enough for what you really need, that's what to be happy about. Pffft, I'd have a GB but have 512 since my gf's PC needed half of mine so she could do gaming. Her dad bought her a Dell with a 2.4 GHz CPU and 128 MBs of RAM. What a...
  3. Just nLite your XP. The slowness will be gone. nLite is the SHAET! Otherwise, turn off animations, cut down on startup applications, switch from resource hogs like Norton or other appz with GUIs for n00bs with huge graphical buttons and effects to seem fancy and bloated. Check out albator's site of standalone and freeware programs to replace your otherwise bloated software. Don't have 50 programs running at once. Don't use 5 or 6 programs for the same purpose. 4 antivirus programs all in stealth mode looking after your system files simultaneously, any other monitoring programs. Use Opera or Firefox and then you can get rid of your spyware tools and antivirus programs as long as you have common sense not to open bogus e-mails that look like reputable offers. Win98 is old. We're more than halfway through 2005. Hell, Longhorn is in progress. Windows 98 is more than 7 years old! Out with the old, in with the new. Updated system files and code, etc. Especially after nLiting your install, the best OS ever because it feels like Linux (slim) and is still the world's leading OS. Bill you SUCK but XPnLited is **** good!
  4. Not with MPC itself. It always saves to 640X480 resolution. The only way I can think of is to go through the hassle of turning off Hardware Acceleration and pressing Print Screen. Maybe SnagIt or HyperSnap has some option like that. I dunno. Sorry I cannot be of further help to you.
  5. 1. It isn't Windows MPC. It's just MPC. Windows didn't make it. How could they? They only make bloatware. 2. File > Save As Image (or something like that)
  6. I have a Dell and have had it for just over 2 years now and suddenly it's unusable. Overheated. ATI Radeon 9800 Pro got so hot that just touching it burnt my fingers. Fan on it was pretty dusty, but then again, so was the rest of the case. Face it people, Intel SUCKS. AMD pwnz. By the way, this is the new case I am getting.
  7. Wow, now THAT is laziness or paranoia...but I respect your choice... sort of... ok, not really. Opera pwnz.
  8. Yeah, I just indefinitely switched from Firefox to Opera. I like how you can customize practically every part of the browser, and I love the keyboard shortcuts. Secunia says that Opera 8.01 has 0 unpatched security vulnerabilities, and even patches the java spoofing vuln. Firefox is what, 35% unpatched? Had I known that, I would have switched a long time ago. Opera is indeed polished but Firefox gets more publicity and is free so of course people want it more. I can understand that. But when it comes to the two browsers facing off 1 on 1, I do think Opera would pwn Firefox.
  9. You offend many people with such ignorance.
  10. Opera's download manager works fine for me... See these aren't the type of ?s where everyone says the same thing. You just have to try different programs out... but the top browsers nowadays have good built-in managers for the downloads. Opera's is better than Firefox's, though... but I don't know about the extensions that act for that purpose...
  11. If it's just the ports you're having trouble with, why not just specify the programs to go through different ports? 1-65535... the choices are pretty vast...
  12. If they do, they're too thrilled with the thunderous performance to even think about web browsing.
  13. You could just try a different IM client. Trillian, Miranda, Gaim, etc...
  14. Zxian, afaiac, I don't think you in any violation of the rules at all, for two primary reasons: 1. Spam itself is advertising of the kind of stuff you typically find in garbage cans. 2. You're not even trying to make money, you're trying to get a free license through legitimate means. Imagine 50 new users come around who are using IE and see your signature, they think "Wow, there's a different web browser?" and so they try out Opera and end up loving it's ability to block pop-ups and avoid spyware. Basically, what I am saying, is that in your process of trying to get a new license, you're also trying to help people. You're serving a beneficial purpose. My thoughts. Cheers, Jeremy
  15. How do I create a shortcut in the command line? Man, I feel really stupid...
  16. IMO, I'm already using something similar with an nLited XP. But if this ever become reality, I'd give it a shot, but only in VMware.
  17. I don't really have a favorite one but I guess summer because that's when all the girls/women start wearing revealing stuff. I'm a leg man so I really like it when they wear skirts. The shorter the better! LOL
  18. Nope.
  19. I like Pineapple and Bananas the most. Watermelon is nice too but I rarely have it.
  20. 1. I use the same username and password for pretty much everything. I could use dozens if I really wanted to, Firefox can remember them all for me or I could just write them down in the notebook I keep on my small desk.
  21. Build. They throw so much trial M$ junk and have like 20 programs running at start-up that slows even the coolest CPU to a crawl. Is a person getting their first PC going to know enough to disable in msconfig? You get cool hardware components but all the software junk you don't. Then you have to reformat when you shouldn't have to. I have slowly been replacing piece by piece of my Dell with others. We replaced our Dell AIO with a Lexmark. I replaced the keyboard with a standard 101/102 key one (no extra buttons, just the way I like it). I desperately and I mean desperately want a new case. If you saw my case, you'd punch me in the face. lol. The next PC I get is going to be AMD, baby!
  22. Turned 20 on the 21st. Been with my girlfriend for 2 years on August 11th. She wants our first kid in 5 years, I said in 7. Argh...
  23. This has got to be the silliest problem I've ever had. Anyway, does anyone know why when I type in -console after the hl.exe as instructed it says that that's not valid and to check the filepath?
  24. I don't use MPC for music. I use 1By1. Purely MP3 for me. Anyway, I see you're referring to WMP's ability to "catalog" all kinds of music. If you like all that extra functionality, power to you. I don't give a crap about different solumns listing the length, bitrate, genre, date of modification, etc. As long as it plays my music when I double click the file, that's terrific. Cheers.
