It seems to me MS is just rolling out a new system quicker and quicker not giving a s*** about what most PC users care about. I like my smart phone and my tablet the cheep games and apps are great, however, when I have to do work (that requires more power than a phone/tablet) I go to my PC it is more powerful and has a better interface for working on the web in word and excel documents unfortunately they are slowly trying to turn my PC into a phone.

That makes Windows look much better, I can not stand the theme in W8 & W10 drives me mad! I will have to try it once I get a VM up and running.

I don't have any plans on doing this "Free" upgrade I just have no intrest. Now if I could get an install disk and do a clean install that might interest me. I have had very limited success with doing upgrades.

Just got that on the work computer today. Gunna have to remove that soon lol I think my boss would flip if he came in and found his computer upgraded to W10.

I have been out of the loop for quite some time regarding Windows 8 and greater so my info might be a bit off. I read somewhere that Microsoft is "giving windows 10 free for one year" Now if they are publishing updates that will eventually allow W7, W8, & W8.1 to automatically upgrade to W10 what happens when that year is over? Do you have to buy a licence then? The thought scares me, because at least in the article I read MS never specified what happens after that year so is that their way of selling the new OS. Note: This could just be a crazy theory based on the extremely limited info I have on the subject. -richie614a

Is HWiNFO a piece of third party software or is it something I can check that is built into windows?

There attempt at over simplification is sad. It makes it harder for those of us who have been been using Windows for years to find what we need to get to. ex: Control Panel you now have to play with the metro control panel as well as the classic to accomplish some basic tasks.

I love this program. It makes working on my work computer bearable. I have even had a few of using my account, because it has a functioning start menu!

It is definitely not the best software I have ever used, but it helps a bit in my case. I work on peoples PCs and they usually have a lack of anti-virus software, expired trials, or stolen protection(that just has bed written all over it). I install it after I clean up their computer then I give them a list of free/paid programs to consider.

I have a Windows 7 computer power supply 700w AMD 7870 graphics card 16 gigs of ram 4 core processor amd My computer randomly crashed after a game I play Planet side 2 crashed,. When the game crashed I just figured it was just the reoccuring server issue they've been trying to fix that week. I then went on to facebook then my computer just bit the dust. Everything turned off instantly after that only the tower turns on I can tell by the lights. I tested my monitor on a laptop and that worked fine, and all my other devices (mouse, keyboard, wifi flash card) work just fine too on the laptop but once plugged into my desktops tower, will cease working. I've reset the cmos, even took out my new graphics card (mentioned above) and still nothoing displays or works other than the tower. Thanks for anyhelp. Sorry if this is posted in the wrong section.

I thought Windows just took C no matter what partition you boot off? I currently boot W7, W8, and Server 08 when they boot they all take C. It might be different for older systems.

I am looking for a way to make my system audio lag about 3 seconds. I am using Chrome cast to stream on demand video from my cable provider that runs on MS silverlight which is not currently supported by chrome cast. I cast my whole screen which allows video to play, however chrome cast dose not support audio in this mode. So i am looking for a way to make my system audio in windows 7 lag. any ideas?

don't mind W8 with start is back unfortunately I can not find updated video drivers so games ect don't run so I still use W7 for most of that.
