I have been trying, but no luck at this point I would think you would have to install 98 on on HD and on you primary HD edit boot.ini (if vista has boot.ini never had a chance to look) a method i found that may work edit the boot options through System Propertes >> Advanced >> Startup and Recovery it may only work with Xp though Pic shows what im talking about. http://q6mcwg.bay.livefilestore.com/y1ps05...t%20Setings.jpg not sure if any of this will help I just use Microsoft Virtual PC 2007 to run my 98 software

o well hear is my current setup: I got My laptop, one tower PC, 2ed monitor and a KVM switch the laptop has Virtual PC on it Virtual PC is displayed in the monitor the virtual PC has remote access installed on it the tower be low has the keyboard an mouse and I just log in using that. It works but for gaming it sucks it lags too much to control maby some day some one will make software like this. I know there a PC that can do this but its not a virtual PC I think they are called Magic Twin PCs

I am running Microsoft Virtual PC 07 I was wondering: If I have a separate keyboard & mouse attached to my pc can I set it to only work with that keyboard & mouse? resin I ask: I have 2 screens attached to my PC and my PC is powerful enoth to run the host system and a virtual PC in the past I have setup remote access to control the virtual's keyboard & mouse using a 3ed PC, but that is a pain to set up any ideas? I will try to make my post more clear shortly. This Picture may make more sense

I will give it a try later tonight when I get home *UPDATE* I was using the wrong boot floppy I am no longer doing it in Virtual PC (setup freezes) Only got 1 problem the hard drive i am trying to use has 1bad cluster & for some odd resion it thinks im using NTFS not sure why yet (i have formatted several times with Fdisk & Parted Magic Linux to FAT :S ) but I think if I get a different HD I can get it going :-) *UPDATE of the last update* I did it the site were I got the floppy boot disk was bad FDISK.exe was corrupt and could not format the drive correctly so I used my 98SE disk to format the drive then I exited setup Put the floppy in my PC and the 98SE cd booted to setup no errors it work on virtual pc and a real tower! thanks guys.

I start with the floppy boot I have already ran Fdisk then I set partition 1 to active then I changed to the cd drive from the floppy and booted setup.exe from the cd it started I got into the main setup page It said I had to get the upgrade cd. Not sure what elce to do its a blank 8gig HD formated in Fat

got a bit of an issue! I got the 98 SE disk I ran the FDISK tool (mentioned abouve but it says I need to buy and upgrade cd the drive is format in using FDISK any ideas??

Im testing it out on my 95 Virtual PC Ill edit this post with updates later on my expence Worked Fine No Errors All GOOD

think i found out why it freezes I had one of my friends read another message I got when I tried to run it off of 95 he said something about this cd not being an upgrade cd I tried formating the drive but still nothing so I will wait for my CD to arrive within the next week or so

that is what i figured im going to hop on my ebay account and just get an english copy of 98SE For when I do get my I want the Virtual PC to have the followinng Setings 1.) 98SE Boot Floppy 2.) 98SE CD Rom Then I want to boot into MSDOS and enter in the following to setup 98: "E:" (my cd drive) cd win98 setup.exe (I think that is what I want not great with dos lol)

OK I have a new issue i have just learned he gave me a Spanish copy i have been guessing at what is telling me but im clueless but i am gessing that the picture below is saying something bad? any help...

Solved Thanks Guys original Post: I am planing on installing 98SE on Microsoft Virtual PC 2007 My friend has given me his 98SE cd (I am currently using 98FE). I have created a 98SE Boot Floppy, but I have never had to install windows using it! When I insert my 98 FE disk it automatically allows me to boot to CD SETUP but 98SE dose not (im assuming that means I ether have a bad disk or have to use the floppy). I am ether looking for a 98SE setup totural or some one who can explain it to me thanks Im so excited can't wait to start using 98 SE!!!

nice program! I will use it on my 98 and Vista computer! (Like it better then vistas real one) I had to make my own notify icons for the task bar in vista (I styled my retro :-) ) The one on the left is the retro one and the one on the right is vistas

iv been looking far a way to add a menu item to the right click menu on my desktop. is there a specific reg key or something? im using vista & xp thanx

Is there an Nlite for 98 or can i just take the SE files add them to the FE files?

I tried but i dident get far. I used my 98FE to get into dos it wanted the Floppy Drive A:> but i dont have a floppy drive then i booted f8 with the 98SE in and whent into command prompt it gave me C:> my cd drive only comes up has E:> currently I am running 98 FE any ideas?

I just found my win98 SE cd but I cant get it to install I have only installed 1st edtion I put the cd it but when i boot it dose not give me install options in bios. I tried running it has an update on my 98FE but it wont. Any ideas (i dont have floppies)

I am a noob too! Im working on transfurring from Vista :-S I am currently making a vertual 98 to test the updates and patches. but thanx for all the great work you guys!
