Bah was just messing with you man! Thanx for your input and that is the truth. I will probably put something similar to what you put there in the forum rules. Everybody gets bent out of shape over getting more posts. No big deal! After a while, it gets old and you don't care anymore. Just realize that there is no payment for getting to the next level. It's just there to give people who have been around for awhile the credit for being here. Yeah...had initial probs with my scanner but it works now with final and my Sony Digital recorder will not work at all right now but that is because Sony did not include a compatible version to M$ for it to work. XP has been great...worked with nearly everything. Rick:cool:

I just use EZCD 5's cd labeler. It is not advanced but has the template for the labels that I use. Rick:cool:

Drew...yeah, it can get annoying when mods have to see the same posts over and over but I understand that you have good intentions so this is okay. XPerties and I go back and forth playing bad cop...whoever is in the worst mood! Chris gets the crown right now because he's dealing with a lot. About the firewall deal...the ones that Lou mentioned are pretty much the ones that everybody here has tested. All have good things about them and all have bad...depending on who you ask. For instance, everybody seems to love ZA but when I use it, I can't send files on MSN or post on this forum...same goes for NPF2002. Sygate seemed very good to me but when I ran port scans, I had ports that were wide open. Also Chris had a hacker that got in and destroyed his files while using Sygate. I have also used Tiny and I don't have any complaints about that one but I am sure that somebody else does. The point is, they are all good and they all suck..depending on how it works on your computer. You will never get a straight answer on this. One thing that I have learned is that if somebody wants to hack your computer, they can bust right through any one of these firewalls. A router may be the solution for the ultraparanoid like Chris. If you do decide to do a repair...tell it to do a fresh install of XP and when it reboots, don't select the repair option that it gives first. Go on with the install then it will find all previous versions of XP. It will find the one you have and ask you if you want to do a format or if you want to repair that installation. That's when you do the repair. This won't lose any of your files at all...just reinstalls OS files. Like said above, you need to make sure it's not a conflict of some kind and running Norton's Sysworks may help you out. Rick:cool:

Go to start->programs->Microsoft office tools->microsoft office shortcut bar. Reinstall this and you will be able to set it back up to appear when you start up XP. Rick:cool:

That a way to stay light dude! Good humor earns you a lot of points here! Some of the things that are so good about XP are things that you may not notice right away. For instance, you will begin to wonder why you haven't gotten a blue screen in weeks. You will also notice that everything runs so much faster than Win98 if that was what you were using, if Win2K, then you will notice that things actually work on XP (games). I think that is a work in progress though. Rick:D

Go get Flashfxp 1.4...then read the IP address,user name, and password that you are given. For instance the IP would be 127.0.0.1 user:anonymouse pass:whatever When you open Flashfxp go to quick connect and fill this info in and hit connect. You really need to look on goolge.com for a good tutorial on ftp's because I don't have time to explain it all right now. Rick:cool:
