  1. Okay..it has been a long time since I have burned a bin cue. I remember using Fireburner so I got that and tried to open Madden2002...I use winrar to open to get to the cue file but what happens is I get a whole bunch of bad crc errors when decompressing. Got it from Chris and he said that he has given this to several people and all have installed with no probs. I have had this prob with several progs lately. Any suggestions? Rick:eek:
  2. Dazilla..yes, you have to really get on the ball with cooling when it comes to overclocking. (Athlons run hotter than Intel chips) A good place to go for good cooling stuff is ht*p://www.coolerguys.com.Another place to look into overclocking an Athlon chip is ht*p://www.tomshardware.com. I have never overclocked an Athlon chip but from what I have read, you have to make physical changes to the actual chip using soldering iron, etc. Not me! Rick:hohum
  3. Lou...I am glad you posted that about using win32 app of PM7. I was having same errors as you and couldn't figure out why in the world it was happening. My question to all of you...have any of you actually been successful using PM7 to convert NTFS to FAT32? Supposedly you can't go back but PM gives the option for it. I tried to do it and no dice! Rick:cool:
  4. When I d/l using Download Accelerator it will d/l 2 at a time...if I start more, the others start as soon as the two are done. I haven't checked to see if there is a setting to let more than 2 d/l though. Rick
  5. Thanx...that was easy enough. Rick:cool:
  6. Hey, can you tell me what to do when I get the d/l file of a theme? It has a msstyles folder, dll, ect. Can you explain to me from the point that I open the Winrar file what to do to have my new theme up and running? Thanx Rick:eek:
  7. LOL Chris! Well, the verdict is that I got the copy of Office XP a very long time ago...geezzz..how old is this post? Anyway, got the same thing you do Chris and it has worked fine. Off the M$ update site? I asked them if I could have a copy and they said for $199 you can:hohum Didn't work man. Rick:wail:
  8. Yes, Direct CD works! The only thing that has changed is that they have taken out support for Take2. Does anybody actually use that as their backup app? Their explanation is that it is an out of date app because people have huge HD's nowadays. Makes no difference to me but it's about time on this update!!! Rick
  9. I just reinstalled a 2600 eval of XP because I lost nearly everything and that was what was left on my system. Anyway, I had an error while installing as I have had in the past where an installation file could not be found. Can you please look up the file browseui.dll and give me the path of where to put that file. I can't run XP till I get that file in the right directory. Rick

Yeah man! Sorry...you can post active links in here...I just read that on the Subject header. Rick

Sedative...that's fine. Just try to give credit where it's due when possible and no active links and all will be fine. Rick
  12. Aaron...I'm looking forward to using this...where does the .bin file go? I opened the d/l from winzip and it put the files in a temp folder. Rick
  13. You got it out of a pub? Is it cracked? Chris is probably right but you can only register a copy of a retail CD one time and then it will ask you to call M$....not that they won't fold like an accordian when you ask for an activation code but that is the way it works unless the person was stupid enough to burn a CD and post it without first activating it first on their computer. In which case they will be in for a real surprise.
  14. Lou, if I had read your post better I would have seen that you explained, clearly what /sos does...but thanks for rehashing it for me! LOL Rick:D
  15. I can't help you but I see some frustration here. Take some deep breaths and kick the computer around a few times. Somebody here will be able to help you soon. Rick:cool:
  16. Hey guys...thanx for taking the time to help each other out. I am going to move your discussion to a new post so that we can keep this one clean just for tweaks that are working. For everybody...if you are trying tweaks and they are not working, post in the discussion thread so that the mods can get this section fixed up with the right info. Rick:cool:
  17. I still can't believe that that is all there is to XP cover though. I will just use the covers that beta users have made up. Rick
  18. No, I have used Tiny and others also say it's really good. That should be good unless you just want to be a freak and go buy a router. You get in the FTP section when Fthrjack reviews posts and decides that you have posted useful stuff that contributes to the forums. I'm not saying your stuff is bad....I haven't really paid attention...that is just how it works. Rick
  19. Outlook must be open in order for it to check mail. You just click on the minimize button and leave it going in the background. That is what I have been doing since I can remember. Rick
  20. Don't! I repeat....don't use BlackIce...it is so full of bulletholes that it is better to use XP's firewall! Go get Zonealarm which is free and which I haven't found a port scanner yet that can break through it. Rick:cool:

    XP Updates

Yeah, you are right, that was probably there for everybody. I was running the yet to be released version of messenger and still got the update. I think what you guys are thinking is that Aaron meant that he was able to get the new version of messenger off winupdate. It has not been released as of today. Rick

    Cool XP Sites

Ummmm...Greedy? What does your forum have to do with what this thread is talking about? Rick:eek:
  23. I get a crash with Morpheus too! XPerties said he also gets it...but I don't remember if kaaza and morpheus are similar or not? Rick:rolleyes:
  24. Has your connection type changed? OE6 d/l's the same as always for me but one prob. that I did run across is that Yahoo mail tends to never do right when I send/recieve, so I started using my ISP's email address and all was solved. That is on Yahoo's side though. Rick:cool:
