Okay...sounds cool but has anyone done any preliminary tests on it yet? What is the stability and compatibility compared to windows? I would like to get this and give it a try if it's really worth it. Rick

Hey, I'm in the process of getting a laptop and I am just curious...do you suggest buying the service plan $220! 3Yrs or just rough it? On a desktop...forget it but what I'm worried about is a screen bust or something like that. What have you done? Maybe this should be in members plus but since I'm not a mod...screw it!!! Hey all...yeah, it's been a long time! Listen, I am in the process of buying a laptop and I want to hook it up to a wireless network with my desktop pc so I can surf the web while I'm in bed or on the toilet. I'm not particularly interested in carrying a cable around the house with me!!! Anyway, it will cost nearly $400 to get wired for my simple little setup!:wail: That just won't work. Anybody in the USA have any ideas where I can get one used without having to spend 2 weeks bidding on ebay or do you have one that you want to sell? Let me know! Rick:cool:

Win2K is even worse! Something about what I have and the compatibility on Win2K and XP is really screwy and the only thing tha I can figure is that either it is one of my onboard drivers or it is my ATI card. They are both great OS's...I have used them on other computers without a flaw but when I built this one...let the probs. begin! Arggghhh! Rick:hohum

I know it is because I built my own computer but I tell you...I think I am going back to Win98se...there's too much trouble when you try to repair XP!!! Rick:assshake

Yeah...I had one and one of the pipes burst sending water throughout my whole computer box. Oh, talking about electrocution! I was stuck to the keyboard and my wife had to tackle me to get me away from the computer. I was rushed to the emergency room and though I did not die...the burn scars still show all the way up my arms! Okay...that didn't really happen but wouldn't it be quite a story? Rick

Hey...I tried to do an XP repair on my current version of XP and now when I try to boot it up...I get a Hardware_Not_Less_or_Equal error with no stop address besides all zero's. I have tried disabling everything and I have even flashed my bios to try to get compatibility. Any suggestions before I have to reinstall XP? Rick:rolleyes:

They did make a few changes in Office XP that has been helpful for me...but not worth running out and buying your new copy of Office XP if you have Office 2000. IMO...WPA in XP versus none in Office2K? Stick with 2000! BTW--I haven't seen anywhere talk of another version ahead of Office2002. Rick:cool:

I remember when I was a teenager...it was who had the most bass coming out of their car...now it's the loudest computer? Well, mines loud enough for me...no thanks on adding any more fans! BTW--I usually leave mine on all the time but things start to screw up after a while so I have to reboot and I shut down overnight sometimes. Rick:cool:

Hey...I got PM7 and I it is the only thing I know of to use in order to move create another bootable partition on my HD. What I am afraid of is what I have gotten before. Try to put another OS on the same HD and it wants to move XP...when you move XP..everything goes to crap! I have seen where Lou said to boot from floppy and use the dos version of PM7. I tried this but it wont' boot up right...I get an error every time. Any suggestions? Rick:rolleyes:

Yep...I have had probs with every firewall that works with XP! It is useless! I have to keep one going though. 265 different IP's tried to access my computer within a couple of hours! Rick

Can somebody tell me what this is? It says that my computer is trying to access something. Below is a sample...I have gotten over 4,000 attempts to this IP since this morning. That IP traces to within my knology network. The firewall has blocked Internet access to your computer (ICMP Unreachable) from 24.214.0.13. Occurred: 310 times between 12/3/2001 5:39:44 PM and 12/3/2001 6:39:14 PM Rick:mad:

JK Anyway, yes I have looked for an updated driver and Sony has absolutely sorry support for this. Nothing about XP...I tried to let XP install it and I get the no digital sig warning and then the screen I put above! Rick

Okay, you probably don't know about this recorder because I imagine that most people don't buy digital voice recorders but maybe you will know why I am getting an error when I try to install it on XP via USB. Here is the error screen that I get:

Funny how all this works! I can't find a darn firewall that doesn't screw me up somehow and everybody else seems to be doing fine but I have had absolutely no probs out of EZCD...works great! Rick:eek:
