    Access Denied

I looked at the pinned topic and I am getting the same message except for the last part about there not being enough room. It just says, access is denied. I am using simple network file sharing between my laptop running Win XP home and my desktop running Winxp pro. When trying to access my wife's files on the desktop (from laptop) I get this error. I have shared the folder and everything. Anybody know what is happening? I am using Norton on the laptop...even though I didn't get that exact message on the pinned topic. Rick
  2. Okay so I'm away a lot more these days! Thanks for the happy b-day though. Rick
  3. I don't know...hmmm...I would definitely win the ladies with that AMD hat and matching shirt! LOL! Rick

    Windows Update

Yes...it is safe to go there...ppl have been doing it for at least a year now and no person that I have talked to has been shut down or anything. The little thing that pops up says that no info is being sent to M$ and if they do that...they break the law...and so many ppl are against M$ that somebody would figure out that they are getting info and it would have been reported. Rick
  5. I know for regular computer monitors it means that you have your refresh rate set too high for the monitor to handle. The refresh rate generally shouldn't go above 72-75mHz on an average monitor. Rick
  6. Haha! Yeah..I don't know...Tris...I did play a game with the mouse and it can wear you out but I don't know, you get so used to it that you can't hardly use another mouse. If you have to use trackball, this mouse is the most natural to me when going from a regular mouse. The buttons are on top like the old desktop mouse. When I have tried using a logitech or whatever...it just about drove me nuts having to reach over on the right side of the mouse with my pinky finger to right click. Rick ^_^
  7. I like M$'s Trackball optical...after using this and then trying to use other optical's, they seem like piece's of crap. It takes about two or three days to get used to using a trackball and then you hate other mice. The M$ trackball is pricey $50 USD but it is much more natural to use. The buttons are on top like a regular mouse and the trackball is huge for your thumb. It is really good if you are like me and you have no room to move a regular mouse around. Here's that mouse: http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/mouse/to_info.asp Rick
  8. Okay, My good buddy Chris (Xperties) is selling his computer with all accessories for a very low price. I want this thing so bad but I can't cause I am broke as always but only computer geeks like us will understand the value of his setup. Go to the link below and look: It's on ebay but he will sell direct too. The reserve on it is $1000 and in my opinion, he is selling too low! http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...item=2035608879
  9. I have never been able to get MB monitor to work on my system either...though it did work with others that I have had. Rick
  10. H-Board is the most id*** proof temp monitor that I have used yet. I just opened it and it had my temps. Thanks but I see that my CPU temps are high! :-( Rick
  11. I run at about 52C most of the time...I used Artic Silver a while back and the temp came down a few degrees. According to Tomshardware, the Thunderbird 1.4 chip takes more energy than even the fastest AMD chips out right now :-( Rick
  12. Great site rstryker! I love the cartoons and it is soo true. Rick
  13. Here is a pic of my processor...I took off the heat sink fan while the computer was running...do you think I can fix this? Rick
  14. Where can I get more emoticons? I have looked in search engines and I can't find anything??? Rick
  15. Yeah...well, if you think about the scope of things...M$ has been successful in keeping pirating down a good bit. THe average user has no idea that there are keys and such out there. The hacking community though large is very small compared to the population who uses Windows as a whole. No longer can most people take their copy to their next door neighbor and all their buds for a little swapping out. Unless they are in the know and believe me, most around me aren't. Anyway, I guess I'll just stick to what I have without updates then...until the next crack defeats M$'s SP1. Rick
  16. I'm just gonna swap out the processor...no money for the rest...but I am running an ECS K7S5A board with 512K memory and a Radeon All-In-Wonder card. As far as processor speed...the fastest I can get...to be honest with ya, I have not even looked at any reviews lately such as Tom's Hardware to see where the market for faster chips is at right now. :-( I can tell you...I have had lots of probs with my setup...I think it's the ECS board...don't go there man. Rick
  17. Filer...are you using ehostpros? That's who I've been using and it is the same deal. I know that unlimited always sounds good but you have to consider quality too. Are they reliable and will they be around for long? As in another post, there was a too good to be true hosting and it's gone in less than two months. Although Ehostpros has a limit..I have gotten very good service out of them and really $4.95 is dirt cheap dude. My regular ISP wants to charge $40 a month additional to have that much space. Rick
  18. Surprise!!!! Did you expect any less? C'mon guys! I know their concept but be for real...If it's too good to be true...it is. Has anybody set this up successfully? Better make up an email account cause you will have about 100 spam mails a day! Rick
  19. ic Tris...I was thinking chaning the user name that you sign on with. I guess you just have to make another name for them if they want that? Rick
  20. Xper...did you write that hack? Can you send it? I was looking for that. Rick
  21. Rock on! I've been wanting this forever! I went ahead and optimistically ordered the AMD XP logo knowing that I am about to upgrade my processor by end of summer. Rick

    SP1 info

I have lots of probs with XP and my computer. I am guessing that it's my mobo and vid card combo but who knows. XP has never ran beautifully on my computer...I get a blue screen daily and frankly, I have just learned to accept it like we all did with Win98. Anyway, maybe this SP1 will be a glimmer of hope to resolve my computers issue with XP. Rick
  23. NM...my host support center added the database for me. I guess I will just have to be in the dark to this database stuff for awhile. Who cares...that's why I have good buds to help me out! LOL Rick
  24. There is no textbox there. That is what I have looked for before and nothing. Keep in mind that I already have one database set up. My ISP says that I can make another free. Plus, my ISP does have PHPmyadmin installed on their server...that is what I look at to add the database. Rick
  25. Okay...Xper basically set up my invision board on my site so I have no clue how to set up a new database for a chat client I want to add. Can someone please help me out with this? I have tried the tutorials and they just look like darn greek to me! But I would appreciate it if somebody actually showed me what to do. Rick
