VIRUS ALERT in Task Bar...HELP!
Stoner81 replied to mary38483's topic in Malware Prevention and Security
In my experience this sounds like a rootkit infection in which case you are in some serious trouble try installing NOD32 v2.7 and update it then boot into safe mode and do a complete system scan and that mite do it. If not then I have generally found the only way to remove them is to do a complete format and reinstall your OS Stoner81 -
I have done some searching and so far I believe the release date for this on PC is approx 21st November (UK), 18th November (US) onwards so hopefully we should be able to play it come Christmas time yay!!!!!! Stoner81

Silent .NET Maker (latest update: 20080603)
Stoner81 replied to Tomcat76's topic in Application Installs
Since the line in question is only removing a folder, it can be safely changed to this: >Nul 2>&1 RD /Q /S "!DNF3DIR!DNF30\XPS\amd64" The modified line will redirect all regular command output from the console to the Nul (black hole) device using "> Nul". It will also redirect any error output (handle 2) to the same location as regular output (handle 1) using "2>&1". This modification allows the line to execute if the script does find the folder to remove, and it allows the script to work without displaying errors if the folder is not found. B) Where is this line to be found is it in the SNM.cmd file? Would it be possible for the modified one to allow this and the total silent installer maker to be uploaded here this would be awsome!!!! TIA dudes! Stoner81 -
Installing Office from WPI
Stoner81 replied to The_Flying_Scot's topic in Windows Post-Install Wizard (WPI)
Yeah i dont get this either. Could it be that he is trying to install ALL aspects in one go rather than seperatly? The bit i posted works like a charm for me but i was/am only using Office (have it installed) so maybe he needs to create a seperate installer (unattended.MST file) for each application he wants? Other than that im kinda out of ideas and im not even sure if this is problem Stoner81 -
I use the installer version of VLC videolan.org and i also use the Cole2k Codec Pack (this uses FFDShow as the decoder) 32bit OS only http://www.cole2k.net/?download=CP-S With these two tiny bits of kit I have never ever needed anything else to play and sort of media file.
-
The best way i have found to intergrate a theme is by doing the following; 1. Use nLite to do all the other bits and the unattended bits you want but DO not intergrate the theme you want. 2. Goto your source folder (where you copied the files from your cd) and create the following folder structure $OEM$\$$\Resources\Themes now copy your edited theme into this folder. 3. Now goto you I386 folder and look for a file named WINNT.SIF open it with notepad and copy the following code into the bottom of the file [Shell] CustomDefaultThemeFile="%WinDir%\Resources\Themes\[YourThemeNameHere].theme" and hey presto all done!!!! Dont forget that you must have already used the UXTheme patch within nLite to allow this to happen. Hope this helps. Stoner81

The recovery CD i dont think will be a full version of XP (i may be wrong). Your nLite cd will need SATA/RAID drivers intergrating at the text-mode part of your installation go to the following site driverpacks.net This will allow you to intergrate a big SATA pack into your install CD and then you should be ok. You could also look in your BIOS to see how your SATA/RAID controller is setup it will probably be set to AHCI or something if you can change this to IDE and then you should not need the driverpacks. Hope this helps Stoner81

I have had the same problem to this and came across this in my travels.... Its from the dudes at SourceForge and its called Ophcrack, they have have made a live cd for it for both XP and Vista. What it does is scans the HDD for password hashes (the SAM file where passwords are stored) and attempts to dechiper them using rainbow tables. this is all automatic so no need to do anything at all simply let it run. 1. Download the iso 2. Burn to CD using Nero or something similar 3. Boot from the CD It will (assuming it cracks the password) display ALL passwords currently stored on the system so simply write it down then reboot. Below is the link to the download page (this is totally freeware) http://ophcrack.sourceforge.net/download.php?type=livecd

Installing Office from WPI
Stoner81 replied to The_Flying_Scot's topic in Windows Post-Install Wizard (WPI)
2003 Read and follow this http://unattended.msfn.org/unattended.xp/view/web/50/ Then in WPI for the application assuming you have it in WPI\Install folder you will need the following in the config of WPI "%wpipath%\Install\xxxxx\PRO11.MSI" TRANSFORMS=Unattended.MST /qb- where xxxxx is the name of the folder containing all your files. Hope this helps Stoner81 -
