  3. Hi folks I have some nice cursors that i want to use in my build but how do i set them as the default ones in XP? Thanks in advance folks! Stoner81.
  4. To use a fax Machine (to my knowledge) you must have this service in your OS otherwise no matter what you do it will not work. Im not 100% on this though since Ive never used a fax machine. The best advice i can give you is "if in doubt, leave it alone" Stoner81.
  5. Man im confussed!! Ok.... so are you trying to slipstream SP3 into your new CD is that what you are after doing? Always start an nLite session with a clean, fresh set of files from your source CD otherwise problems can ensue. Always do it all in one nLite session to for the same reasons.
  6. Thanks for the info kel much appreciated buddy! Stoner81.
  7. Oh man ur a frickin life saver!!!! awesome m8 thanks for this bin driving me nuts!!!
  8. Before you modified them strel Ive had no problems at all m8!!! awesome work, I will get the new modded script (see post 9) and make them again and report back for you m8 give you some feedback for you. Stoner81.
  9. Please attach your LastSession.ini file to here m8 then the guys can take a proper look at whats going on.
  10. Can you translate the error code into English please m8 otherwise kinda hard to help you here since I (for one) can't read it. Thanks. Stoner81.
  11. Im assuming that this thread has replaced the other one m8? (SNM_mod8.cmd and associated files) Will get the new stuff for sure, thanks buddy! Stoner81. *EDIT* Note to moderators - any chance this could be made a sticky guys its like one of the most important topics in here? Just a thought
  12. Thanks for the reply m8 ive now since fixed it. What was happening was that the WPI wud run and install my stuff, then reboot (as normal) but then restart the WPI (not normal) now i think the problem was a command script that i was running from an earlier release of WPI. So i removed the script and downloaded the latest wpi version and started from scratch and rebuilt my applications list etc and hey presto it works spot on now just as it should! Thanks for such a quick reply! also thanks a million for this awesome bit of software! Stoner81.
  13. Reread post #1. You can't install 1.1 and 3.# without rebooting after installing 1.1. To install both without rebooting you have to install 1.1 last. You can do that with merged installer, but you have to build it to include all the frameworks, including 1.1. You got me I read about that some time ago and forgot about it hehe. It seems to be working, thank you! Glad you got it sorted out m8 Stoner81.
  14. I have no idea then im afraid dude sorry I couldnt help you more Have a nice day Stoner81.
  15. Ok I get what you mean but I dont think this is doable in a strict sense you can probably work around it though by doing the following. 1. Create the Unattended section and skip the OOBE section. 2. In the Unattended section create another user and name it WindowsXP or something equally generic. 3. Create the CD and once its finished the install simply change the user name in the Control Panel. Other than this I have no idea sorry dude. Hope this helps you anyway Stoner81.
  16. Hi guys thanks for this awesome app however.... Im in need of a little help. I have read this thread from start to finish and Im not sure how to proceed to use it from the start kinda thing. Do we still use Driver Base to slipstream them in and then use this or not? I would like to use this for the standard driverpacks and have it run unattended without the box about driver signing. Would it be possible if somebody could write a small tut on how to sort this out Im somewhat lost, sorry for being a reet n00b!!! Also will this include the Mass Storage packs into the txt mode part of the XP install? I will have a play around with it and see what happens. Any and all help very much appreciated though Stoner81.
  17. Ive had a similar problem tho I still aint solved my bluetooth issue yet but I have sorted the Card Reader one. If you look around on driverpacks.net and look for one of the admins called Overflow in his siggy there is a tool called HWID's this program will scan your system and show you all the hardware ID codes in your system in Notepad which you can then save and attatch here for us to look at. Also by seraching for the first of an ID you can find the needed drivers you are missing. Stoner81.
  18. I think you are referring to OOBE screen here, in which case the whole thing can be skipped using the unattended setting in nLite and then you may be able to edit in somewhere in a file directly your username and other info but I have no idea on how this can/could be done im afraid. I will have a look around and see what I can find. Stoner81.
  19. I think it means that it will install silently with no need for switches. They generally are an executable file which can be called from WPI or maybe RunOnceEx. Try doing a google search for your question and see what you get Hope this helps Stoner81.
  20. Thanks buddy will do for sure once I have tested them then I will make a proper release of them with the info and links needed to do it, I will put a thank you in it to you for the help buddy much appreciated!!!! Thanks again! Stoner81. PS - Got the download m8 cheers.
  21. I like the sound of number four there dude for sure would make it a lot easier for sure My suggestion is about the executing of commands before WPI is run and exited from could it be made that if these are checked (aka they are in use) and somebody hits the EXIT button these bits still get run regardless? I know there is a option to say force install on exit but then it runs even when you are trying to configure it in the first place (unless this has been sorted already in which i apologise ) other than that it does everything i want it to do mind you its like 6am for me now at the time of typing this so kinda tired lol! Thanks for all your hard work! Stoner81.
  22. Basically what it say in the title really guys, I have WPI set to run install various things then reboot without loading the desktop and then the desktop will load once the reboot has been done this is how Ive always done it. But now for some reason it still launches WPI again so I exited and rebooted to see if it would do it again which it didnt rather strange??? Any ideas? Ive checked the settings just to make sure that Ive not checked something e.g. restart WPI after reboot but nothing there so rather lost here. Hope you can help folks! Thanks. Stoner81.
  23. Thanks buddy! As it is it seems I have solved not to sure what the problem was I think i was using the wrong switches and also a small bug in WPI for running .reg files but not sure. I have since downloaded the latest files for WPI and remade it from scratch and so far so good. Going to make a full build now with all the updates etc in nLite then try it again. Thanks for your help m8, I will report back here when ive done it. Stoner81.
  24. Yes, I do (strel's cmd). Version 2.0 is installed on the machine that makes the installer. I'm trying to install from 2.0SP2 to 3.5SP1 on a clean XP installation. Are you saying that I do must install .net 2.0 (plain) and then, 2.0SP2 and the rest of the files? I did not get any error message using that package, I will pass /lv %SystemDrive%\dotnet.log to the installer and check the log. Hang on a sec... you say you are trying to install from 2.0 SP2 to 3.5 SP1 on a clean install? 3.5 SP1 (231MB) contains 2.0 plus service packs so from what you are saying you cud just run the installer to install it as it is from MS however thats not what you are after.. on the system you are trying to create the merged installer i suggest the following; 1. Have all the versions of the .NET Framework installed just in case using windows update (I did ) 2. Have you followed the instructions in the first post correctly, sometimes its the smallest things that cause the biggest problems. 3. Have you got all the needed files for the merged installer you are making (see 2) Beyond that m8 im out of ideas really since im not too familiar with scripting but I'll do my best for you!
