  1. WarnockG90, we need more information, so please attach (not paste) your Last Session.ini. Make sure to always start with a fresh copy of your CD files/folders, do all your work in one nLite session and integrate only one SP. If you are running nLite under your Vista system, please search these forums for others who have tried this. It may not work, particularly slipstreaming an SP. You might try an ISO with noting but the source CD file/folders. This will give you a good base. Also, please consider a virtual system such as VirtualPC, VirtualBox or VMware Server - all free. Enjoy, John.
  2. otyk, I don't read Español, but from what I can make out, I see nothing in your Last Session that looks bad. I'll give you this: Make sure to always start with a fresh copy of your CD files/folders, do all your work in one nLite session and integrate only one SP. Enjoy, John.
  3. Blindsay, I am aware of no way around that. I use a DVD and my full up ISO is more than 2.5 GB. I suggest an optical burner for both CDs and DVDs. Where I am (US) you can probably get one for less than $20. Newegg has a bunch between $20 and $25. Sorry, John.
  4. otyk, we all are cursed! We have no idea what you are talking about. Please attach your Last Session.ini and tell us what you are doing. John.
  5. otyk, by installation CD do you mean store bought OEM or Retail CD? Please post the CD label - something like CRMPXOEM_EN. At this time, I now suspect your text mode drivers. Did you remake the ISO and CD for your friend's computer and its specific drivers, especially text mode? Enjoy, John.
  6. WarnockG90, is your CD drive attached via SATA? John.
  7. otyk, weird, huh? Please attach (not paste) your Last Session.ini. What kind of CD is it? If it is a Dell recovery CD, then you probably have problems. What kind of computers are your friends'? I searched my CD and there is no install.txt file. I suspect it is unique to Dell recovery CDs. Enjoy, John.

seekinwhite, OK, I understand where you are removing NT Backup, but I still do not understand what you are asking. Are you expecting the pause during the early part of install where F6 and F2 are mentioned, to be deleted by checking the NT Backup option? I think you probably cannot get rid of these prompts (F6 and F2) so easily or perhaps at all. Let me know if that is what you are trying to do. Have fun, John.
  9. Blindsay, I don't know where you got those switches, but they look bogus to me. Here is a great guide for this process, with many programs with switches that work. It is for XP x64, but is applicable. Kurt_Aust calls only a batch file from RunOnce and it does all the installs. You will see .NET in the .bat. You cannot put it in the Hot Fix area of nLite. Enjoy, John.
  10. seekinwhite, yes, please see Users tab of Unattended. Under Autologon there is a pull down list. Pick the user account you want to automatically logon here. Enjoy, John.
  11. gotthardanger, I copy my CD files/folders by simply opening a Windows Explorer on the CD, Select All, Copy and Paste into a folder on my HDD. Here is a rather elaborate example but a great guide to stuff you can run out of RunOnce. Enjoy, John.

seekinwhite, I do not understand what you are asking. Why would you want to remove drivers installed by F6? Why did you install the drivers if you want to remove them? Are you just trying to get rid of the F6 and F2 messages? Where did you remove NT backup in nLite? Please attach (not paste) your Last Session.ini. Enjoy, John.
  13. NEO-BAHAMUT-, Have you seen this Unattended guide? Also, on your Windows CD is a folder called Support which contains a file called Deploy.cab. Expand this file and look at the two .chm files. They contain lots of helpful information. Enjoy, John.
  14. Blindsay, I think running nLite under XP x64 to build an SP3 XP ISO should work. Please give it a try and let us know. I hope you are using a virtual system such as VirtualPC, VirtualBox or VMware Server - all free. If you have trouble under XP x64, try running nLite in XP Compatibility Mode (nLite.exe, Properties, Compatibility tab). Enjoy, John.
  15. Zayne, the updates go in the Hot Fix area and nLite integrates them into your source - don't need to place any other place. Only the .NET files need to be placed in the AddOns folder. Integrating WMP11 is part of nLite now for several versions. Just place the WMP11 installer in your Hot Fix section and nLite automatically runs WMP11 Slipstreamer. Be sure to have WMP11 Slipstreamer installed on your system and any updates to WMP11 AFTER the installer in the Hot Fix section. Good luck, John.
  16. It has been reported by mgancarz , that this is present on Windows XP that has not been touched my nLite. He simply enabled 'Launch folder windows in a separate process' via Folder Options, the same status of connections failed to work. I duplicated the problem on my XP x64 old host system (never nLited). I am glad it is not an nLite bug, but I encourage all to avoid the option in nLite and Windows. Enjoy, John.
  17. mgancarz, thanks for the report. I too, tried it with the same results as you. When I unchecked the option, everything returned to normal. I will update the thread I started and sent to nuhi. Thanks, John.
  18. GrofLuigi, the problem occurs not only in XP x64, but XP also. See the referenced topic above. Later, John.
  19. Zayne, I think you misunderstood what I intended for you to do. Rem Install .NET 3.5 and updates. %Source%AddOns\dotnetfx35.exe /Passive /NoRestart %Source%AddOns\NDP20SP2-KB958481-x64.exe /Passive /NoRestart %Source%AddOns\NDP30SP2-KB958483-x64.exe /Passive /NoRestart %Source%AddOns\NDP35SP1-KB958484-x64.exe /Passive /NoRestartTo begin with, you only need 3.5, the others are included. What I show is for XP x64, so find the correct KBs for your XP. Place the .NET and KBs into a folder named AddOns and place it in you source folder on the same level as I386. And place the Code above, changed for your XP, in the RunOnce area. The .NET and updates will be installed on the final boot of your install. Please let us know how you made out. I still want you to run the experiment I requested. You are throwing fuel on the fire with even more stuff. The fact that the Theme service was not running although set to Automatic is a problem that should be corrected and not ignored. Enjoy, John.
  20. zipzap, the easiest way to take a screen shot is to make sure the window you want is selected, then press Alt-Print Screen. This will place the window image on your clipboard. Open Paint and click Edit, then Paste. Save this as a .jpg file. You can paste several shots into one file and move them around in Paint. I do not use and am not familiar with VB, but I see nothing wrong with what you sent. VB is responsible for installing drivers, not you. Again, you need to consult the VB forum (I assume there is one), and see what you can learn. Are you sure you have properly connected and enabled sound in your VB controls? Enjoy, John.
  21. Zayne, have you run the experiment I suggested? To get a handle on the .NET problems, please post links to the .Net files you used, screen shots of the errors, the code you ran from the RunOnce and your latest Last Session.ini. Have fun, John.
  22. Kelsenellenelvian, thanks much. I added a Reg Delete for the key at the beginning of the batch file I use to run WPI and it works fine. John.
  23. BdN3504, I see that you have removed both Turkish F and Q. I am afraid the only way to get them back is to run nLite again using a fresh source. You can use your Last Session.ini and when in Remove Components, uncheck Turkish F and make any other changes you like. Enjoy, John.
  24. I have two XP x64 source files - from two different CDs, each containing WPI. When I double click one WPI.hta, I often get the wrong Options and/or configuration file(s). I looked in my Registry and I find a WPI key (HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\WPI) with a number of values including ConfigFile and OptionsFile. These are in conflict at the present. How can I prevent this problem? Can I delete this entire key or certain values? How do I prevent this problem from reoccurring.? Thanks, John.
  25. BdN3504, I think from others experiences, your only option is to start with a fresh source and run nLite again - this time not removing the language. Please attach (not paste) your current Last Session.ini. Good luck, John.
