  1. Devilish, what are you doing? We have no clue. Please attach (not paste) your Last Session.ini. Make sure to always start with a fresh copy of your CD files/folders, do all your work in one nLite session and integrate only one SP. Enjoy, John.
  2. zipzap, you do not need hardware drivers for a virtual environment. I have not used VirtualBox (I use VMware Server), but I would look at your virtual definition of the HDD - is it connected, does it need something special from you such as text mode drivers? I don't see anything suspicious in your last session, so I would look at your VM definition. Also, make sure to always start with a fresh copy of your CD files/folders, do all your work in one nLite session and integrate only one SP. Enjoy, John.
  3. mgancarz, I am wondering if your missing hot fixes (KB938127 and KB956391, after install, though in Update Pack) are a symptom of this problem. If possible, I hope you will run an experiment with your preset containing all you changes except remove the problem Tweak (Explorer-Launch folder windows in a separate process). Please let us know the results. Thanks, John.
  4. bengt66, this is truly strange. I would suggest you build and install an ISO containing only SP3. Test that to make sure it works OK, then add IE7 to that installation. If that works , then add WMP11 and test. To be clear, I mean to create only one ISO, then add IE7 then WMP11 from WUD. Please let us know the outcome. Thanks, John.
  5. mgancarz, thanks to your persistence, I have recreated your bug on my XP x64 system under VMware Server. The first two times I ran with my original Last Session with all the Tweaks removed but the one (Explorer-Launch folder windows in a separate process), I got an error message from nLite about an unexpected hot fix with module nlsdl.exe (I think). The error occurred at the end on IE7 integration or beginning of the next hot fix. I installed the second and it had the problem you describe. I made a screen shot of the error message but accidentally deleted it and could not recover it and when I ran the same Last Session I could not recreate the error message but when installed I could not get a connection status without using the tray icon. I am still working and thinking, but ultimately it seems that nuhi will need to get involved. I let you know what I learn. Thanks, John.
  6. Sephiroth, there is also Windows Post Install (WPI). See forum just a couple below nLite's. I use it also to install several registry tweaks and programs. It contains a built-in silent switch finder that often discovers the proper switch(es) to use. I also use AutoIt to create unattended installers when I can't find switches. There are also Add-Ons, which I don't use - see subforum at top of nLite page. I also suggest you look into a virtual system to test your resulting ISO. I use VMware Server - at the time I needed one, it was the only one to support XP x64. VirtualBox now supports x64, but I have not tried it, but others here have. It is much smaller than VMware Server (last I DLed was 575 MB). Both are free. Enjoy, John.
  7. Aylen, I think you need to look at the Add-Ons subforum at the top of the nLite forum screen. Enjoy, John.
  8. Sephiroth, I use Kurt_Aust's guide, update list and batch files, but I removed many things that are there. It is written in such a way that if the file is not there, no harm/no foul. The bat just goes on to the next install. I guess you noticed that .NET is installed along with Directx. Even if you don't use his guide directly, you can use his technique to run a .bat out of the RunOnce exit in Unattended and his .bat is a good source for the switches necessary. Notice that he installs several MS updates that do not integrate with nLite. Enjoy, John.
  9. Sephiroth, I have a similar problem with the Catalyst Drivers for my video card. My solution is to integrate the drivers using nLite and the SW (CCC) with Kurt_Aust's method. Please see his guide for details. After you run nLite, you can look in folder NLDRV in the AMD64 folder (Windows after install). All the drivers are there. In my case, CCC was not present, so I need some way in get them to my target. I have tested only on VMware Server (waiting for AMD to announce a CPU I want), so I can't say for sure it works. Enjoy, John.
  10. adiabolist, good debug work! The latest version of nLite automatically integrates WMP11 using WMP11 Slipstreamer. Just place WMP11 into your hot fix list. Be sure to include any updates to WMP11 after it. You may need to install WMP11 Slipstreamer, but I see there is a copy in the nLite Program Folders folder. Please, let us know what you learn. Enjoy, John.
  11. Angelico_Payne, thanks for joining us here. I think my real problem is that I do not understand what you mean by the SP won't apply. Also, using a virtual system (e.g., VirtualPC, VirtualBox, VMware Server - all free), will allow you to test quickly and without making a CD. Enjoy, John.
  12. Angelico_Payne, please move your questions over to the non-sticky portion of the nLite forum - lots of knowledgeable people there. I am not sure I can answer your questions. I can comment, since I use Kurt_Aust's method to install lots of stuff. I see the batch file start after the last boot. My auto login account is active but my theme is not installed and Windows Explorer is not running yet. I am also not sure why you are concerned about the service pact not applying. If you are talking about SP3, nLite slipstreams it into the source folder, so when Windows is installed, SP3 is there and ready to go. Come on over to the non-sticky with the rest of us. Enjoy, John.
  13. adiabolist, sorry, I don't know what an "eXPerience" release is. What kind of CD do you have - OEM, Retail, Recovery, VLK, etc? Please post a Windows Explorer screen shot of your CD files/folders. Enjoy, John.
  14. @Ponch and @iamtheky, should I let up? Or should you two and others, cut me some slack? I have started to warn some that it is coming! Keep having fun! Enjoy, John.
  15. mgancarz, I took the second half of your Tweaks list and replaced mine with it, created an ISO and installed it. I do not have any kind of problem as far as I can tell. Of course, I am running XP x64, which is a different animal. Please keep us informed. Thanks, John.
  16. adiabolist, I see nothing obvious in your Last Session. Often when strange things happen, nLite has been run more than once against the same source. NLite should always be run using a fresh copy of your CD files/folders. Slipstream only one SP. Enjoy, John.
  17. mgancarz, your list is bigger than mine! I guess you did a better job than I. Thanks, John.
  18. Trezona, please attach (not paste) your Last Session.ini. Make sure to always start with a fresh copy of your CD files/folders, do all your work in one nLite session and integrate only one SP. Enjoy, John.
  19. mgancarz, I guess it makes no sense for me to try your Last Session at this time. Some time ago I tried to isolate all the files that nLite modified and came up with the attached screen shot. I am not sure it is exhaustive, but there are many. The two Hivexxx.inf files are interesting and contain nLite changes. Post a Windows Explorer screen shot of your source CD folder. Please let me know what you learn. Enjoy, John.
  20. mgancarz, OK, thanks. After lunch I will try with your Last Session, although I am running XP x64 (based on Server 2003), so my results may not apply. What is your source CD - OEM, Retail, Recovery, etc? Enjoy, John.
  21. donixa,I did see your Last Session. Sorry about the redundant request - part of my canned message. Enjoy, John.
  22. mgancarz, have you tried the experiment I suggested? John.
  23. dapaulid, I know nothing about "Applying Sereby's Updatepack for SP3 3.9.2", so I can't comment on it. If MSDN slipstreamed in SP2, then adding SP3 will not work. Look in your original folder and see if there is an SPNOTES file (attach here, if so). Also, please post a Windows Explorer screen shot of your original folder so we can see the files/folders present. I suggest that you do as the rules stated that I posted. Make an ISO in one nLite session (skip the Sereby step), and see if it works right. When you have seen strange symptoms, most likely there are many more to come. There is some inconsistencies in your Last Session - e.g. the Unattended section is different. Again, I would suggest you do all in one session. I don't use update packs, but there are ones available to be included into nLite directly. Please let us know what you learn. Enjoy, John.
  24. donixa, I'm not sure what you are talking about, so I attached a picture. Is this what you are talking about? What error do you receive? Please attach (not paste) your Last Session.ini. Make sure to always start with a fresh copy of your CD files/folders, do all your work in one nLite session and integrate only one SP. Enjoy, John.
  25. Bethrezen, we need to see your Last Session.ini - please attach (not paste). There are many hash checkers. I use HashTab. Enjoy, John. EDIT: NLite does not sort hot fixes and you must place them in the proper order or you end up with a mess. John.
