  1. coolday, I still don't understand. Do you want to use the third HDD in you RAID? Do you want to install on it? Do you already have Windows installed and now you want to have access to the third HDD? Are all three HDDs on the same comptroller? I am really LOST. Enjoy, John.
  2. liuzhigao, if you place your wallpaper file (.jpg) in the $OEM$\$$\Web\Wallpaper folder (at the root of your CD) and name it bliss.jpg, I think your wallpaper will be replaced. Good luck, John.
  3. Rebel1960, I don't know anything about autoupdater, but if you are using it to add updates to your CD folder, then you are asking for troubles. NLite has the capability to integrate updates, you should use it. Please attach (not paste) your Last Session.ini. Make sure to always start with a fresh copy of your CD files/folders, do all your work in one nLite session and integrate only one SP. Enjoy, John.
  4. AK-81, I would suggest you use nLite to add your SP3. Start with a fresh copy of your CD files/folders, then run nLite adding SP3 and hot fixes all in one run. If this still fails, then remove half the hot fixes and try again. There are multiple ways to discover the proper order for updates. Search here and in RyanVM forums. Enjoy, John.
  5. dirtfarmer, I don't know anything about autostreamer, but if you are using it to add hot fixes to an nLited folder, you are asking for troubles. NLite provides support to include hot fixes. Please attach (not paste) your Last Session.ini. Make sure to always start with a fresh copy of your CD files/folders, do all your work in one nLite session and integrate only one SP. Enjoy, John.
  6. Brando569, I suspect you have run nLite more than once against the same source or your hot fixes are not in order. Please attach (not paste) your Last Session.ini. Make sure to always start with a fresh copy of your CD files/folders, do all your work in one nLite session and integrate only one SP. Enjoy, John.
  7. alfa1, I doubt you have found a bug in nLite. I run XP x64 and have no such problem. I suspect you have run nLite more than once against the same source. Please attach (not paste) your Last Session.ini. Make sure to always start with a fresh copy of your CD files/folders, do all your work in one nLite session and integrate only one SP. Enjoy, John.
  8. k64, it sounds like you are trying to install two copies of Windows on the same PC with the same key. Since you are allowed to only install one copy on one machine, I suspect this is your trouble. I am sure you will not be able to activate it, but I would think you could install, as I do with my VMware Sever. Both my real and virtual machine use the same key. I do not even try to activate the VM copy, though. If you are looking to just test this new build, I would strongly suggest that you use a virtual system, such as VirtualPC, VirtualBox or VMware Server - all free. Another possibility is the type of CD versus type of Key. Please look in SETUPP.INI on your CD and post the Pid. Please attach (not paste) your Last Session.ini. Make sure to always start with a fresh copy of your CD files/folders, do all your work in one nLite session and integrate only one SP. Enjoy, John.
  9. rebelo, sorry, it is a 32 bit XP AddOn. Perhaps you have the knowledge to convert it. Enjoy, John.
  10. Kurt_Aust, I removed all of my Component removals and got the same same. I'm still looking and thinking. John.
  11. sho_gun, thanks for the kind words, John.
  12. sho_gun, to use $OEM$ folder you need to have OEM Preinstall enabled. Whether this means you can't remove OOBE, I don't know. Please see the help text (? in circle) next to the OEM Preinstall option on the General tab of Unattended. Enjoy, John.
  13. albator, yes the order matters. The first added should be the first released by MS. If you include IE7 or WMP11, be sure to add them before their updates. Enjoy, John.
  14. rfm2000, one point you may be missing is there are two different kinds of drivers - text mode and running mode (I made this term up, but I think you understand). The text mode driver is only used during the first part of install and it is possible that it works and the running mode driver is bad. You need to have both kinds of drivers. Please attach (not paste) your Last Session.ini. Make sure to always start with a fresh copy of your CD files/folders, do all your work in one nLite session and integrate only one SP. Enjoy, John.
  15. Sp0iLedBrAt, I looked at my installed nLited ISO (VMware Server) and I do not have an Administrator folder under Documents and Settings. I think this folder gets created on first login. My install is totally unattended after I specify the install disk. Enjoy, John.
  16. AK-81, thanks for including your Last Session. I suspect your slipstreaming of SP3. How did you do that? Are your Hot Fixes in proper order?. Please make sure to always start with a fresh copy of your CD files/folders, do all your work in one nLite session and integrate only one SP. Enjoy, John.
  17. TedJBrown, I install out of a .cmd file run from nLite's RunOnce and it works fine with the RTM. You should need to change nothing, even the name is the same. Have fun, John.
  18. Kurt_Aust, thanks again. I'll give your idea a try. I just finished installing without IE8 and got the same. I watched nLite run this time and saw 740 integrate. Weird. I assume you know IE8 does not support the Integrate switch. I even tried it on the update.exe after extracting and got an error about having to integrate from the top layer. Suspect waiting for nuhi to determine how to do it is going to be a long wait. Perhaps we all should see what we can figure out ourselves. Thanks again, I'll let you know if I figure out the 740 thing. The MD5 for my 740 is 80406D0749A16737D651000DBCEF77C4, and I DLed it again and got the same. Enjoy, John.
  19. Kurt_Aust, thanks for your reply. I was afraid you would say that. I reran from scratch and have the same result. I have installed IE8 (RTM) via your .cmd file. I hope you have an idea of where I should look. I attach my Last Session. I checked the length of all updates and I checked the total count and total size of my Hot Fix folder. All agreed with yours. Thanks for any help, John. EDIT: Have you thought about using IE8 instead of IE7?
  20. Ashbringer, I have an nVidia nForce4 MB and when I first came up I installed and used the HW firewall, Armour Shield or something like that. I had no end of trouble and removed it. I am not sure you are talking about the same thing with nvappfilter. I searched my machine and I have a nvappfilter.old that used to be nvappfilter.dll. I guess this happened when I removed the firewall. If this nVidia HW firewall is what you are talking about, I would not install it (that is my plan if I have to reformat this machine) and if it is installed, I would suggest you remove it. Enjoy, John.
  21. alfa1, I suggest you look at this great guide for XP x64 by Kurt_Aust. Enjoy, John.
  22. Sorry, g-force, I should have left more slack and I did misunderstand. If it works for you, it should work for him. Enjoy, John.
  23. g-force, I don't think that is true. I extracted the latest (at the time) Catalyst driver, including CCC, and integrated it. When the install had completed (on VMware Server), I looked in the file C:\WINDOWS\NLDRV and found the Catalyst driver but not CCC. I have put CCC into a .cmd file that runs out of nLite's Unattended RunOnce. Ashbringer, there are several ways to install applications. You can use AddOns (see forum above), Windows Post Install (see forum below) or a method similar to Kurt_Aust's great process. I use both Kurt_Aust's and WPI. My CCC installs in the .cmd file and most other applications install via WPI and I use no AddOns (few are available for XP x64). Enjoy, John.
  24. coolday, we are really poking around here, because we don't understand what you are doing. Do you mean for the HDD to show at install time, and if so, why? If you mean after install, then the third one needs to be enabled in your BIOS as well as the controller. Please tell us as much as you can. Enjoy, John.
  25. DarshfX, please answer my question. Thanks, John.
