scott14, lower right of the reply screen are the Browse... and UPLOAD buttons. Use them to locate your file and attach it. The problem with the image is that it cannot be easily searched. I see no text mode drivers. What kind of attachment to you have on the drive you are installing on? If it is SATA or a RAID, you will need text mode drivers. Please attach you Last Session and let us know about your install drive. Enjoy, John.

Angelico_Payne, I see you are running under Vista - 32 or 64 bit? This may be the problem. Can you try it under XP? Have you checked the size and MD5 I posted earlier? If not, please do and let us know. Enjoy, John.

VulturEMaN, when strange things happen, like disappearing short cuts, usually nLite has been run more than one time against the same source. Please make sure to always start with a fresh copy of your CD files/folders, do all your work in one nLite session and integrate only one SP. What system are you running nLite under - Server 2003 (32 or 64 bit?) or XP x64? I suggest you look into Windows Post Install (WPI, couple forums below nLite's). From it you can have all kinds of fun after install. Enjoy, John.

coolday, I still suggest you run the experiment in my previous post. Remove all drivers but the needed text mode drivers.

g-force, I could be wrong about this being a 64 bit version of Windows 2003. I run XP x64 and recognized the number - same as mine except the end 0 (mine is 5.2.3790.3959, SP2). Here is a good article on Windows versions. After some Googling I have not been able to determine how to tell if this is a 32 or 64 bit OS. I thought all 5.2 versions were 64 bit, but Wikipedia says not so. We'll have to wait for coolday to reply. I just did a Google on the .NET version. Mine is 2.0.50727.3082, perhaps a little higher than his. Never found any kind of problem with it. Here is a page with .NET version information. His is version 2.0 SP1. Mine is 2.0 SP2 (installed with 3.5 SP1). Another good Wikipedia site, this time .NET. Hope all this helps - I learned a lot! Enjoy, John.

DADOZ83, good question. I suggest you are going to have to play. I hope you are using a virtual system, such as VirtualPC, VirtualBox, or VMware Server - all free. If you will look in a folder called SUPPORT, you will find a file called DEPLOY.CAB. Expand it (I use 7-Zip, but you can use expand command in command prompt), and you will find two .chm files. These are help files for unattended/customized installs. They can help you find the entries that are causing the Dell files to be loaded. Good luck, John.

g-force, at the top of his Last Session is the following: [Main] Env = 1.4.9.1 - 2.0.50727.1433.Microsoft Windows NT 5.1.2600 Service Pack 3 Target = Windows Server 2003, Web SP0 - 5.2.3790.0 - English (United States) Which means he is running 5.1.2600 (32 bit XP) and building for 5.2.3790 (64 bit). The first is the nLite version then the .NET Framework version. Enjoy, John.

coolday, I am not sure I understand g-force's reply, but I have some comments. You are running nLite under XP 32 bit for a 64 bit Server 2003. This will not work for an SP integration (which you are not doing), but is also suspect. It looks like you are including multiple text mode drivers for SATA and RAID. You need to include text mode drivers for only the drive where you will be installing Windows. If there are more than one text mode driver for the same device type, only the last will actually be saved. I would suggest you start by simplifying somewhat. You might try removing all your drivers, except your required text mode drivers and see if that works. Please let us know what you learn. In general, it is normally recommended that the _u.ini file not be posted since it often contains the CD key and passwords - no harm this time. Enjoy, John.

scott14, please attach (not paste) your Last Session.ini. Make sure to always start with a fresh copy of your CD files/folders, do all your work in one nLite session and integrate only one SP. When you find a solution, please post it here so others can benefit. Enjoy, John.

Csimbi, this is a very interesting question. I have run some experiments with "Load 'Last Session' on startup" on the Presets page. I think it does what you want (unchecked) except sometimes it includes the activation key. You can also use the Blank preset, which loads nothing. I suggest you experiment with these and see if you can find a scheme that will work for you. Please post your conclusions, so others can benefit. Enjoy, John.

roadrunner64, OK, I am beginning to understand. I looked at mine (XP x64) and the x86 one at MS DL Center and neither has the /integrate switch. I still successfully integrate IE7 via Hot Fixes in nLite. Apparently nuhi understood this problem some time ago, because I have no problem now and have heard of none. I still suspect Angelico_Payne has the wrong installer. We await attaching of the .ini. Thanks, roadrunner64, John.
-
g-force, since the /integrate switch is missing, the update cannot be integrated by nLite. It seems like Angelico_Payne uses SP2 but not SP3. English may not be the language but when we see the .ini, we should know. Enjoy, John.

Teseng, even your original CD is weird looking. What are the CMPNENTS and VALUEADD folders? I suspect this is a recovery CD from a manufacturer. What is the CD label (see My Computer) and the Pid (see file SETUPP.ini)? Are you installing on the machine this CD came with? Enjoy, John.

mireazma, well, you took out a lot of stuff, including IE and Ethernet LAN. How do you connect to the Internet, if at all? I would suggest you need to run some experiments, restoring a number of items at a time. I would start with IE. Remember to always start with a fresh copy of your CD. I hope you are using a virtual system such as VirtualPC, VirtualBox, or VMware Server - all free. You don't need to burn a CD - makes testing very easy. Enjoy, John.
-
Angelico_Payne, as you can see there is no /integrate:path switch, so you must have the wrong installer. Did you check the name, size and MD5 against what I posted in my Edit? We would like to see your .ini. Enjoy, John.
-
Teseng, its like deja vu, all over again as George Carlin would say. I suggest you post a screen shot of a Windows Explorer view of the CD you are trying to install and post the total size of the content of the CD. What the heck, John?
-
Zayne, you never responded to my last reply. Have you tried it? Please attach your latest Last Session.ini. John. you mean, your themes are not there and the Theme Service is not running. We have lots of things yet to explore. Please do the un-check I suggested and we'll go from there. Thanks, John.
-
Angelico_Payne, this sounds like IE8 (RC can't be integrated). Are you sure you have IE7? Please attach your Last Session.ini, so we can see the exact IE7 file you are using. Enjoy, John. EDIT: You should be using: IE7-WindowsXP-x86-enu.exe Size: 14.7 MB (15,452,536 bytes) MD5: EA16789F6FC1D2523F704E8F9AFBE906 Please let us know the status of the problem - fixed (and how) or what. If it remains unresolved, please post a screen shot of the error message. Thanks, John.

200mg, please attach (not paste) your Last Session.ini. Make sure to always start with a fresh copy of your CD files/folders, do all your work in one nLite session and integrate only one SP. Enjoy, John.

Jeff7577, glad to be of help. That was really quick! Thanks much for sharing. Have fun, John.

Jeff7577, Google shows 55276000 to be an upgrade Pid. I seem to remember some discussion here some time ago about putting both the OS you are upgrading from and the upgrade OS in the same folder and running nLite and not having to stop like you are doing. Please do a search here and see what you can find. Perhaps someone who has done this or may remember better than I will respond. Please let us hear what you learn. Enjoy, John.
-
Jeff7577, please look in the SETUPP.ini file (using notepad) and post what the Pid is. Since you started with such an old copy of XP, with probably no SPs, did you add more than one SP? If so, that may well be your problem. You should only integrate the latest SP you want. Enjoy, John.
-
showerx, your Last Session is very simple and I see nothing out of order if you followed the basic rules I specified before. I know little about MCE (never used it), but I remember some discussions in the past about only certain versions of MCE could install SP3. I think you and Nocturnal also need to do some research to see if you should be applying SP3 to your MCE. Please let us know what you learn. Enjoy, John.

Jeff7577, post the label of your CD and, please attach (not paste) your Last Session.ini. Make sure to always start with a fresh copy of your CD files/folders, do all your work in one nLite session and integrate only one SP. Enjoy, John.
