cmmcnamara, the cmdlines.txt goes in the $OEM$ folder. The things in the $$ folder are placed in the C:\Windows folder. See here for a description of the $OEM$ folder. Enjoy, John.

furballi, please attach (not paste) your Last Session.ini. Make sure you are not running nLite more than once against the same source and integrate only one SP. It sounds like you have run nLite multiple times without using a fresh copy of your CD files/folders or possibly you have run nLite under an OS that is not 64 bit. I use XP x64, have made many ISOs and have had no such problems. Here is a link for an great XP x64 guide for a complete installation. Best of luck, John.

Mike87, I'm glad you are making progress. Of course, virtual systems don't test drivers, but they are great for the install process. Here is a link (about XP x64) where Kurt_Aust uses the RunOnce exit to install many programs, including .NET Framework. I don't know why he did not do it via a hot fix, but perhaps he found it did not work that way. He is very good about responding, if you would like to ask his opinion. Enjoy, John.

jellopy, I use 7-Zip to expand a .cab file and you can also use expand command at the Command Prompt. You can use the makecab command (also Command Prompt) to remake the cabinet file. Help and Support (under Start) has information about expand command but not makecab. You can get information on both commands by typing the command followed by " /?" (no quotes). See 'Using MakeCAB.exe' (about half way down screen) in this link. Enjoy, John.

fgaine, Cheers to you also! I don't really see anything amiss in your Last Session.ini, but I do have a question about your driver selection. In many cases, drivers have multiple .inf files. I see none in yours. Did you select single or multiple drivers when you did the inserts? You need to look at your driver folders and see if there are more than one .inf. In general you should include the multiple ones. I do a search on the extracted folder for *.inf and see what shows up. Enjoy, John.

morgrym, I assume you are using nLite or you would not be here. I can't answer your questions. I use the Unattended section of nLite to define my user accounts. Why are you not using that? Enjoy, John.

Mike87, obviously you have plenty of resources. When you run nLite again (against a fresh copy of CD files/folders), if you still have a problem, attach your Last Session.ini. Is this a new machine? Did the BIOS find all your memory and drives? In my BIOS, if I press the Pause/Break key during boot, everything stops and I can read the screen. Any key gets it going again. The only suggestion at this time is to reduce the complexity of your build - only SP3, etc.... Good luck, John.

razhar, I don't understand what your error is and when it is occurring or what you are asking. What does "pc-packed SATA" mean? Please attach (not paste) your Last Session.ini and make sure to run nLite only once against the same source and integrate only one SP. Enjoy, John.

maximumnoob, I recommend Windows Post Install (WPI), but there is also AddOns. Both are discussed in sub-forums here. Enjoy, John.

The Orange Pigeon, I don't have another suggestion but I also don't think it is an nLite problem. Please attach (not paste) your Last Session.ini, make sure you are not running nLite more than once against the same source and apply only one SP. Enjoy, John.

N0B4r9N1LIsFyeQR, I DLed and then extracted the file (using 7-Zip) you showed and it had several .inf files. Some were XP and some were XP x64. You should do the same and pick the ones you need. I assume you are running XP x64? Enjoy, John.

Mike87, please attach (not paste) your Last Session.ini and make sure you do not run nLite more than once against the same source and apply only one SP. What are you installing on - real machine or virtual machine? In either case what is the size of the HDD partition and memory? Enjoy, John.

phaolo, in your .ini there is 'LanmanServer,2' under services. I don't know what the 2 means, but I suspect you have set it to Manual. Try going into Services under Computer Management and start the service. If that works, set it to Automatic and leave it alone the next time you run nLite. Enjoy, John.

Mistique31, what Ponch is saying is edit your first post and change the title. You are the only one, except for a moderator, who can change it. Please attach (not paste) your Last Session.ini. Enjoy, John.

jaclaz, the final luna.theme is the same in both cases. When I run expand.exe, I have to specify an output file name. The luna.th_ I created with makecab is smaller than the one in my AMD64 (I'm running XP x64), but when expanded by 7-Zip or expand.exe they are the same file (Hashes agree) as they should, really must, be. Enjoy, John.

fgaine, after you run nLite, Last Session.ini is in your source folder. You attach it using the 'Browse...' and 'UPLOAD' buttons at the lower right of the forum reply screen. Enjoy, John.

fattywhale, Yes, in your first picture, just do a Select All and then right click one item and click copy, then paste into your new empty folder. I think this is worth a try.Unfortunately, the research I did indicates this is an HDD error. The paging system in Windows is trying to get a page that was written out and it failed. The recommendation I saw was to run chkdsk. I hope you have a good backup of your HDD. I suggest you do some research (Google your error message) and decide what you want to do. If you need instructions on running chkdsk, please let us know. Also take a look at your System Event Log and see if there are any errors logged at the time. Enjoy, John.

The Orange Pigeon, tried this/these? Enjoy, John.

LM2007, I see you really did remove Paint. The only thing I can suggest you try is to put your original (unmodified) CD in the optical reader and when it auto starts (if it does not, double click the CD icon in My Computer), select 'Install Optional Windows Components'. It will look like the Add/Remove screen. Find Paint and try to install it. Please let us know if this works. You are not the first to remove something you needed later. I also noticed that you are running an older Beta version of nLite. Please update before running it again to the latest, 1.4.9.1. Enjoy, John.
-
fattywhale, please post a screen shot of the error. Also post a screen shot of an Explorer view of your CD. Tell us what version of Windows is on the CD and what version you are running. Are you using nLite (what version?) to copy the CD? Did you install .NET Framework 2.0 or a higher version? Have you tried doing a Select All on the CD files/folders and doing a copy to your folder? Enjoy, John.

ijwcomp, I had the same problem with Shockwave. There is no switch to decline the toolbar. I even contacted Adobe technical support. I ended up writing an AutoIt script to do it. I highly recommend it for installers and many more things. It is easy to learn and free. My son uses DiskKeeper (32 bit XP) and is very happy with it. There is a 64 bit version. I just use the MS one in my OS. Search the Internet for AutoIt and DiskKeeper. I know nothing about the other two and recommend you search the Internet for ideas. Oh, DiskKeeper is not free but there are free automatic defraggers - I don't have knowledge, so no recommendation. Enjoy, John.

vgsangiuliano, I used makecab to convert Luna.theme to luna.th_, then used 7-Zip to expand luna.th_ to luna.theme. The initial and final files have the same hash and are identical. Open a command prompt and type "makecab /?" without the quotes to see how to use it. You do not need to specify an output file name, the correct name will be created for both directions of conversion. Enjoy, John.

maussimo010, have you been successful in installing your text mode (F6) drivers? If so, let us know, if not, come back and ask a specific question(s) and attach (not paste) your Last Session.ini. Enjoy, John.

LM2007, you might try this. Please attach (not paste) your Last Session.ini. Did you run nLite more than once against the same source? Enjoy, John.
